Principles before Personalities.

This never ending quest should be the goal of the RPOF and the RNC. Conservatives are back-doored out of the Party, Moderates are shoved down the throats of the majority of the base of the GOP, and no one seems to be able to identify the problem OR want to face the solution??

Ask people what they want (which the pollsters already have and 41% identify themselves as CONSERVATIVES), and they want principled, outspoken, and bold leaders. Enough of this mamby-pamby "politically correct" double speak. Tell it like it is and tell the TRUTH- something a LOT of "Republicans" have forgotten how to do.

Let there BE sharp divisions between the Parties, but be the Party that stands on Principles, not what some pundit says you have to say/do to win elections. Uh....did we "win" in 2006 or 2008? It wasn't because of lack of "moderation" or we failed to move left of center. It was because Republicans FAILED to live our principles, govern with those principles, and stand on the BEDROCK of those principles to the voters we were called upon to represent.

There are GOOD, solid, new Conservatives running for office all over this state. Many will not get elected. Why you ask, if they are so solid? Because the "party" is going to try, once again, to suck all the life from these candidates BECAUSE they ARE principled and won't follow the "party" mantra. IF you want to see them elected, YOU need to get behind them 1000% and then find others to do the same. Get involved with their campaigns, knock on doors, tell 2-3-4 neighbors. Hold a "meet and greet" event, plan barbecues or receptions for them, and yes, DONATE to their efforts.

The "party" exists because of ONE reason- they have people, special interest groups, and "faithful donors" who let them live because of the money they give. Little of that actually will EVER get to those candidates who are the principled leaders YOU desire. Instead of giving to the "party", give to the candidates and help them win elections, defeat the "party" and BRING THE PARTY back to the principles, NOT the personalities in charge.

IF every Conservative would do that, the "party" will wake up, shift gears, and the Principled leaders WILL emerge as the Republican Party WE all desire. Then America will not only SEE the differences, but align itself with US accordingly- The party of fiscal responsibility, of smaller and less intrusive government, and one who PROMOTES the resourcefulness of the American people.

Then, we can ask, who were the ones who sucked the life out of whom?

Sincerely,

Michael "Mike" Yost
