Florida Senator Carey Baker is a candidate for the Commissioner of Agriculture, a state cabinet-level office that will become vacant later this year. On a recent trip to Orlando, I sat down with Senator Baker to ask him about his campaign for the office, and what the transition would entail from his present position as State Senator. Baker’s candid interview elaborates on his personal background, his political career, and makes the case why he believes he is the best candidate for the position.

Senator Baker:
After watching your interview, I am quite impressed at how much you and I see eye to eye. That having been said, I feel you would be of greater use to our state (and to the country, for that matter)as a legislator than as a cabinet member.I hope this stint as Ag. Commissioner is only a stepping stone for greater tasks.
Best of luck to you.
Crist and Rubio both need to shut up and hear what the people are saying. This is the year that the people will be heard, not the politicians or the parties pick.Crist is an Obama socialist and Rubio too is a liberal. His record, and his lack of record communicated, and his continues to speak as if the people are stupid.
obama has his head so far up his ass,* if he ever needs hemorrhoid surgery, he will can to go to a dentist.
* You may want to use distal sigmoid colon!

@ Richard, Rubio has said over and over again that “Rail” is not a good idea especially in this bad economy. And as far as your comment about Rubio being liberal… You need to get off the crack pipe my friend! Just sayin…
Carey Backer has my vote. Great interview!
Great interview with Carey Backer…I think exactly the way he has presented the issues here.
Hopefully, he will go on to run for a seat as a Republican Senator in Washington, DC sometime in the future; run against Florida Senator Bill Nelson who also needs to go. Thank you!
Excuse me, Carey BAKER..saw the spelling of his name above my comments and I have it right now.
Very impressed with Sen. Baker. I will vote for the conservative liberty candidate every time, in this race it’s Carey Baker for Agricultural Commissioner for the State of Florida.
As a farmer and rancher in Florida I will vote for senator Baker. His Farm Freedom bill will strenghten small farms across our state. He is a true conservative. His opponent Adam Putnam voted for and praises HR 2749 The food safety act of 2009.This bill is refered to as the food totalitarian control bill. This bill if it passes the US senate will form a new federal branch of goverment called the food safety division.this bill grows the power of the fedral goverment and destroys freedom and liberty in the name of food safety. All this and Putnam now wants to run Florida’s Dept of Agriculture.Vote for freedom and liberty vote Carey Baker
I do not want government in my dinner or where my dinner comes from. Keep the federal government OUT! No codex alamentarius : No Federal Food Safety Program!
I think he is the Man for the JOB. He is a fiscal conservative and Veteran with common since. The guy he is running against (Putnnam) authored an Emergency Illigal Allien Amnesty Act with Barbra Boxer of California.
The two are different from Night and Day. One writes bills to protect us: Seanator Carey Baker initiated the FireArms Freedom Act and Healthcare Freedom Act (FLFREEDOM.ORG). While the other (Putnam) voted for TARP (twice) and consistently voted to take our inalienable rights away from us.
