Marco Rubio living large with the AMEX card

February 25, 2010

Marco Rubio’s AMEX credit card statement has raised many eyebrows across the nation, including my own. Everyone knows that I have been supportive of Rubio even before he decided to run for the Senate. That being said, I am still scratching my head about what is on Marco’s credit chick fil acard statement.

Come on Marco, Chick-Fil-A? Could you have at least gone to Wendy’s or even Pollo Tropical?

From my understanding, Rubio paid back the personal items purchased on the party AMEX card. Now, if someone wants to take out their calculator and do the subtraction, go right ahead. After all, isn’t the word of the week ‘transparency’?

On that note, I say that the RPOF disclose the credit card statement for the now ex-Chairman Jim Greer and his lap pooch, Delmar Johnson. Greer and Johnson are the real story here. Whatever Rubio personally spent on the AMEX card can in no way size up to what the ‘Blues Brothers’ spent over the past couple of years.

What is incredibly obvious to us all, is that these two fools epitomized the true meaning of excessiveness while dining out on party funds. Delmar and Jim are very, ummm, ‘healthy’ looking fellows.

I too have used corporate cards for personal expenses… and someone has the accounting. Change in management always wants to raise their importance by pointing out the issues from the other guy. It’s a petty issue.

So let’s see… Airline tickets home, fix family mini-van, $50 wine, Winn Dixie and Chick Fil A vs. Private Chartered Planes, $400k bonus, New York extravagancies…

Yes, I’d like to see both sides. Why is it that some had a card and others did not? Why would anyone have access to charge on another person’s card? Hello? Where is the accounability in this?

Hey – RPOF – are you hiring? I need a job! Bad decision… maybe, maybe not… Let’s see the whole bill – every bill… not just the spin.

Marco – Chick Fil A… now that’s being a fiscal conservative. Winn Dixie over Publix…. way to go… Fix MiniVan instead of buying a new one…. Heck Yeah… Spend RPOF money instead of Tax Dollars to see wife and family.. ok – I changed an airline ticket at the expense of my employer so I could make a hot date… I can buy that one too…

  2. Chicken Pancakes says:

Did he O.D. on Chicken Pancakes?

  3. Alan Levy says:

I didn’t realize it was a contest, or that one skunk made the other skunk look pretty. Throw both out. Immediately.

  4. Bruce Quigley says:

As others have said, let’s see what the other AMEX holders used their cards for. Then let’s see what they paid back.

If their payment shows up dated 2/25/10 it’s a CYA repayment because of what has happened today, that’s the type of politician that should be looked into.

I have to admit I like my politics dirty, I can’t wait for what expose’ will turn up next. Look out Charlie, what goes around comes around!

  5. Dusty says:

Let us not forget Crist’s $430,000 trip to Eurpoe that was on the tax-payer’s dime back in 2008.

Sorry Charlie, you’re going to have to try harder. Next time, make sure the mud you sling doesn’t end up on your face…

  6. Albert J. Shalhoub says:

I have a problem with the release of Mr.Rubio’s Credit card statement. What is the Governur’s problem?
I have heard that He is looking into running as an independent, if he looses the election. If that happens I know at least 20 people who would work against him.
Play it straight an work to get elected.

  7. Rosangela says:

Thank God Marco ate . Instead of chartering Air Force planes that costs 20K/hour and paying only one hundred dollars per trip.
I know, it has been a long time since you guys saw “normal” expense. You just do not know what this is. Consequences of being democrat ( nice name for communist)

  8. Floria Republicans against Crist! says:

Two can play at this game Charlie! You SELLOUT RINO!

  9. Tamara says:

that is what politics is especially when the race goes national as this one has, and attention is burning a hole in the head of the jealous one. We have all seen Crist’s behavior, he will not win this, and he is only looking for desperate fights.

I hope Rubio will be transparent now and in the future, because Election day is still a ways off!

  10. Jose says:

The United States Air Force has five core values that it expects its personnel to live up to. Integrity is one of those values and what Marco has shown with his misuse of his card is a lack of integrity.
Do not make light of it was just a car repair, or a chicken sandwhich. It was a total lack of integrity and this is what he showed when he ran for the legislature in 2006 and expended nearly $300K of contributions against a write-in candidate who raised not a penny.
Marco is just another phony politician who has let his followers down. Surely, we’ll see more lack of integrity in the months ahead.
It’s time for “Rubies” to take a look at Senator Bob Smith the only true conservative in this race.

  11. Tammy says:

    Sorry Charlie,
Your acting like a rabid dog backed into a corner. Your staff and donors are jumping ship. Maybe you need to borrow Marco’s Amex card, hoping he will pay your and Jim’s bills.

  12. @Jose
Listen ‘compadre’, we have all taken a look at old man Smith and know what he stands for. He is all about himself, just ask him again to explain why he endorsed John Kerry over President Bush.
He will tell you that it was a stupid mistake he made out of spite.

Is this the kind of Senator we need? Not!

  13. Kathy Bolam says:

I agree with Jose……Take a good look at Bob Smith. He has the integrity to admit his mistakes and he has experience. Would any of those people on the plane that landed in the Hudson River would have preferred an inexperienced pilot over Sully Sollenberger? Bob Smith has a great fiscal record and experience. When we send him to the Senate, he will be the 8th in senority and get to head up some of the critical committees. Rubio or Crist will be around the 100th…..Experience and a proven record should win out, but will the GOP allow that to happen in Florida? I would like to see a debate with Rubio, Smith and Crist……Let’s get it done. The voters need to be informer before the Primary.

  14. Slick Willy says:

    Jose-

If you hold Senator Bob to your own lofty standard, he is an epic failure, as his Benedict Arnold-like stunt effectively ended his future in the Republican Party. Before you remove the speck of sawdust in someone elses’ eye, remove the plank in your own.

  15. Dave Boggs says:

Did anyone see Michelle Obama’s afternoon snack receipt at the Waldorf Astoria in NYC? Lobster, caviar, champagne for herself that cost $400.00?Meanwhile saying you and I have to shell out for her husband’s health care program. That’s a crime.

  16. Al, Cocoa Beach, FL says:

I would like to see all of those credit cards….including the Gov…and see who is living hoh (high on hog) at expense of others. The Gov is scared.

  17. @Jose and Kim

You two just don’t get it. The microscope has been on Smith ever since he announced.
Smith is on record of saying that he didnt vote for Ginsberg, but voted for alot of Clinton appointees. So, if elected Senator now, would he vote for most of Obama’s appointees? We cannot trust this guy.

A grown up elected official acting like a child because he didn’t get his way, geesh. Bob Smith is all washed up, face it. He will lose, and lose big.

Have you even noticed that he isn’t even polling, let alone mentioned by anyone?

  18. Great posting, I favorited your site so I can visit again in the near future, Cheers

  19. amt says:

Rubio messed up royally!!!… they are all a bunch of crooks… I am sick of it. We are not voting for a great candidate… we are voting for the lesser of 2 evils. 134.00 on a man’s haircut?????? OMG !!! and his stupid comment about the wife being Floridas first lady. SPARE ME!

  20. Dee Williams says:

While we are intrested in AMEX cards, I am for more interested in what Jim Greer did with 12/M dollars. As for Bob Smith, he just wants the distinction of saying he served as a Senator from two States.

  21. Babbs Holwand says:

Just glad this credit card joke was released now instead of this summer. Bob Smith is a real story. Just what the US Senate needs is another old man. He is a washed up looser, who doesn’t know when to call it quits. When half of the US Senate is close to, or over retirement age, a third is over 70, & 4 over 80 isn’t it time to look at a candidate’s age? Congress needs mandatory retirement & term limits, not another Grandpa who wants the power of being a Senator back.

  22. svchost says:

Big day coming up. Florida needs to get out and be heard in the primaries. Don’t believe polls. Get out there and vote. Doesn’t matter if it is Rubio, Crist, party… just be heard. This process is what makes us great. See you all at the polls.
