FL-20 candidate Robert Lowry rips Obama Admins’ diss of Israel

March 31, 2010 Commentary 5 Comments

The Robert Lowry for Congress Campaign has issued a press release concerning the recent diplomatic row caused by the Obama administrations’ contempt for Israeli sovereignty. Kudos for Lowry for calling out Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and President Barack Hussein Obama for their role in bringing about the worst US-Israeli relations in decades.

FL State Senate candidate weighs in on U.S. Sugar deal

March 31, 2010 Commentary 2 Comments

As the U.S. Sugar deal with the State of Florida continues to evolve, more state politicos are going on the record about the controversial deal that is fully backed by Governor Charlie Crist.  Many believe that this deal primarily benefits U.S. Sugar, its farm contingent, and their attorneys while putting taxpayers on the hook for hundreds of millions of dollars . The Shark Tank will be keeping tabs on any new developments in regards to these negotiations.  I recently caught up with Sharon Merchant in West Palm Beach on Monday and asked her about her thoughts on the land proposal. Sharon Merchant is a conservative candidate running as a Republican for State Senate in District 27.

Allen West: Just what the GOP needs

March 30, 2010 Commentary 27 Comments

Many of you have read yesturday’s critical article written about Congressional Candidate Allen West in regards to  his supposed anti-Muslim crazyness. Well, like most of you, I disagree with the writer of the piece. I do agree with the writer when he states that West is in politics and everyone needs to get used to the fact  as a politician, he will be criticized- God only knows I get slammed on a regular basis. All of this is in part due to my unbelievable writing skills and dashing good looks.

Moving along, I wholeheartedly agree with West. As a whole, the Muslim community has not stood up to the threat of Islamic fundamentalism. So, if Muslims are just going to stay on the sidelines and not condemn the acts of a few, then they are just as culpable as the Terrorists themselves. I have spoken to many Islam practicing Middle-Easterners and for the most part they seem like law abiding ‘citizens’. I use the word citizens lightly because we have to first identify if they are in our country legally.

We hear in the mainstream media that innocent Muslims are killed in Terrorist attacks around the world. But we need to ask ourselves, just how innocent are they ? It has been reported time and time again that ‘innocent’ Muslims that did not come forward and warn authorities of an imminent attack  did so because they feared for their family’s safety. This example is the kind of culpability that I am referring to.

Allen West’s website does state the biblical passage the writer refers so, so what?! Last time I checked, it was West’s website to do with whatever he feels like doing with it. Maybe the writer took offense that someone in the public eye actually had the stones to post something that had to do with religion? Remember, as Rush would say, this is right out of the Democrat playbook.

Now I am going to assume that we will all be labeled as Right-Wing Christian Fundamentalist for agreeing with the good Colonel, so bit it. The Republican Party is changing and is not the party that will stand by and concerning itself with political correctness. This is the type of ignorance and pre-9-11 mentality that is going to welcome another attack on our country.

Allen West is just what the GOP needs.

FL Politicos give thumbs up to 10th Amendment

March 29, 2010 Uncategorized 12 Comments

There can no longer be any doubt that it is the Obama administration’s intention to divide, control, and remake the country in his socialist vision by any means necessary.  These power grabs are accomplished in several different ways.  Whether it’s through his so called “czars” and their vast regulatory authority, his appointment of leftist/progressive judges, or simply by cramming legislation thru Congress on strict party line votes, President Obama is hell bent on consolidating as much power as possible in the limited time he has remaining with a willing Congress.  The end result will be incalculable damage to our freedoms, rights, and our prosperity.   To fight back against these federal encroachments into areas that rightfully belong under state control, 13 states have joined Florida in a suit against the Federal government initiated by Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum. McCollum also happens to be the frontrunner for the Republican nomination for Governor. The suit was filed to the plaintiff states from falling under the unconstitutional Obamacare mandates that force individuals to purchase healthcare insurance or face fines.

Florida E-Verify bill gets through first committee

The controversial illegal immigration issue is at the forefront of this years’ legislative session in Tallahassee, Florida. The problem of illegal immigration continues to be a hot topic in Florida and around the country. What many do not understand is that the  illegal immigration issue also a national security issue.  While there are many arguments being made from both sides in defense their respective positions, illegal immigration is just that, illegal.
Floridians for Immigration Reform (FLIMEN) have been the tip of the spear in the struggle to eradicate the problem of illegal immigration. Today, the FLIMEN sent out word that a House Bill addressing the the E-Verify proposal has passed it’s first committee in the House.

Rubio v. Crist Debate – Round 1

March 28, 2010 Commentary 33 Comments

Many of us were glued to the TV this morning as we watched the two Republican Senatorial candidates in Florida debate for the first time.  If you tuned in thinking you were going to hear a serious discussion about the issues, you would have been profoundly disappointed. The fireworks were not about policy matters, but about about character-related issues.  Asked to provide the reason why he is running for Senate, a defensive Governor Crist attacked Speaker Rubio on his spending while in the state legislature- setting the tone of the debate right from the first question instead of asserting his own credentials for the job.  Rubio countered that line of attack with an effective rebuttal given at both the 15 and 40 minute marks of the debate, stating that Crist had not made one substantive argument about any of the  issues, preferring to talk in vague generalities and platitudes.  The Governor was content to continue discussing these allegations, as well murky the waters with verifiable untruths about Rubio’s spending practice- clearly a sign that Governor Crist feels the need to rely on mudslinging to fill the policy void in his campaign.

Crist and Greer- ‘In Charge’ and Living Large on the RPOF AMEX

March 25, 2010 Commentary 13 Comments

Well placed sources within the RPOF, as well as other well-informed confidants have disclosed to the Shark Tank the nature of some of the probable expenditures that were incurred by disgraced former RPOF Chairman Jim Greer and Governor Charlie Crist in the yet to be released RPOF AMEX statements. To refresh your memories, it was several weeks ago that an unnamed source, probably from within the RPOF, intentionally leaked Senate candidate Marco Rubio’s RPOF AMEX statements from 2005-2008 to the media. It is near impossible to deny that this highly selective leak to the media of only one RPOF members’ AMEX statement was not politically motivated- a clear attempt to undermine the Rubio campaign rather than for the express purpose of the RPOF coming clean to the public to restore both its standing with Party members as well as with the broader public.
