Video: Senator LeMieux holds Healthcare townhall meeting

Senator George LeMieux( a regular reader of the Shark Tank) held a town hall meeting to speak to concerned citizens about the controversial ‘Obamacare’ bill that is being mulled over in Washington, D.C. About a hundred or so people attended the event, included local elected officials, as well as representatives from the local, state and national Republican Party.
Senator LeMieux made a compelling case as to why this current healthcare bill ‘The Messiah’ is trying to jam down our throats is wrong for the country. LeMieux spoke of making healthcare more affordable to Florida’s citizens by allowing interstate competition. He also said that he was dead set on tackling the issue of medical fraud that has plagued the healthcare industry in Florida.

Attendees were allowed to ask healthcare related questions to the Senator, as well as share their personal experiences and ordeals. Because the meeting ran so long, only a few questions were allowed to the press after the event. Normally, I am ‘Javi on the spot’ and am ready for the opportunity to ask the question, but I fumbled the question I posed to the Senator. However, being that I am calm, cool collected, charismatic and your ever humble correspondent, I was able to recover the fumble and finish the play.

The question I asked the Senator was the following:

The US Sugar deal with the State of Florida negotiated while you were Chief of Staff for Governor Crist is nothing more than a bailout for US Sugar. Independent appraisals state that the land purchased by the state for the Everglades Restoration was not worth the sale amount-the land was grossly overpaid. Governor Bush has also expressed his concern and disappointment with the deal…’

  1. Yes, yes…FIX THE PROBLEMS WITH MEDICARE AND MEDICAID make them solvant..and then working on making insurance more affordable. Very good common sense here in this video…but somewhere along the line, Common Sense has left Washington.

  2. This is more Agenda 21 land grabs, meant to keep anyone, any human off these lands, and we the surfs paying for it….say NO!

He better be against Obummer-care, but then he could also be working to expel Harry Reid. Just saying…

  3. Perhaps I am in the dark, but I just found out that AIG (you know, the company that we; the people, own with our bailout money)is the number one health care insurance company in the world (it doesn’t sell health care insurance in the United States). Our problem is solved. Since we bailed them out, with all that money, they can provide ALL of us health care insurance in return.

  4. I have written the Senator three letters asking about he could assist prostate cancer patients get the drugs they need to recover from their operations, some of which insurance companies currently do not cover. I never got an answer and his staff never sent information about this public meeting. His staff is not doing him good service. Prostate cancer is the fourth highest cause of death among cancers in the US, but ignorant people treat it like the black plague. His Terrible Swift Sword

  5. I heard that Senator LeMieux won’t be running again for US Senate. I certainly hope that’s not the case but, if he isn’t going to run, I certainly hope he runs for another office where he can continue to contribute on behalf of concerned, educated Americans. Also, I continue to urge Senator LeMieux to educate as many Congress members as he possibly can about Obamacare and what it TRULY is – a power grab that will adversely effect America’s economy and, more importantly, the welfare of the People. Healthcare is NOT a Constitutional right (no matter what Pelosi thinks she read!) and the fed. government cannot and should not promise healthcare but rather establish laws that prevents economic abuse and corruption (we already know the answer to these problems).

  6. Good old George… He is asked a direct question if taxes will go up if the government purchases land to enable the Everglades clean-up. He responds that the water boards have the authority to issue Bonds. Last time I looked, Bonds are a loan by the Government, paid off with the money from our taxes. If George does not know this basic concept of government financing, he should be removed now, no need to wait for an election. If George did know this basic concept, but chose to dodge a direct question and provide an indirect response, he should be removed now, no need to wait for an election. Bottom-line, this RINO needs to go…and the sooner the better.

  7. I like his speeches. Why not the incumbent?
