While promoting his new book in Palm Beach, Governor Mitt Romney took time after the book signing to attend a meet and greet held in his
honor at Cafe Sapori in West Palm Beach.
Being the constant politician that he is, Governor Romney made the rounds and spoke to just about everyone in attendance, as well as pose for countless pictures with his well wishers. I asked the Governor if he was going to support Marco Rubio in the US Senate here in Florida and he told me that he normally doesn’t get involved in primaries. He also said,” I really like Marco, I would love to see him win…can you imagine a Conservative Hispanic in Washington?” He then told me that he is watching the race very closely. Let me reiterate that Governor Romney did say he normally does not get involved in primaries.
The Governor has proven to be both, a very intelligent and shrewd politician, and I would bet that he, as well as other influential politicos will start boarding the Rubio Express in short order.
He certainly got involved in the Arizona primary! He endorsed McCain over JD Hayworth. I lost a lot of respect for the Governor when he did that. Even though I don;t live in Arizona I still contribute (a small amount) to conservative candidates around the country. Please consider sending even a small contribution to JD. He does not have the big hitters behind him (Gov. Romney)that McCain has.
How is Mit Romney going to call Rubio conservative?He has Abortion,Gay Marriage,Universal Heathcare and Pornograghy on his record that he has never renounced.How stupid does he think the people are?
Marco Rubio just as Mit Romney,John McCain and Sarah Palin are all for Amnesty and NAU.The Tea Party Leaders are yelling about all of the liberal republicans who are trying to hightjack the tea party movement.
When will the so called right media stop reporting your policy rather than the record.The people are tire of the trash reporting.This is why 61% of the registered voters are now Independents.

I felt fairly neutral about Romney, even with the the Mass Care massacre hanging over him. Then he came out recently and endorsed major RINO Bob Bennett of Utah and McCain … I was very disappointed. What’s next – he is going to stump for Harry Reid? He might as well.
And I feel a 2012 run in the air with Romney. More no choices for the GOP.
We need some fresh faces and ideas in Washington. People who are not career politicians and could introduce term limitsand running the government like a … gasp!… business!
Mitt Romney is only Conservative if he is talking to a Conservative group. But in the vote, he votes on both sides so that whoever he is talking to, he can say that he has voted on that side. Mitt Romney is a “Slick Willy ” Republican in using his words to deceive people.
He is from Massachusetts and I was born in Massachusetts. When the Pilgrims landed there in which I am blood-related to Gov. William Bradford, it became a good state through the “Mayflower Compact”. Now , with the majority of the elected leaders, the majority of the time, voting against God, it has been the worst state in God’s eyes. And Romney now leads the pack, deceitfully. Check with Massachusetts Resistance.
PS I used to live in Florida for 20 years and now live in Texas.
WHO CARES!?! Rubio will win regardless of who supports him… Why? BECAUSE VOTERS SUPPORT HIM!
Rubio and Dockery For Florida. This McCollum is a moderate according to his voting record. I looked into Dockery’s and is by far more conservative.
One thing I do not do is take to seriously the endorsement of one polition for another. I support Rubio because I thought Charlie Crist failed to support our last presidential candidate after finding out he would not be the number two on the ticket. As a Republican Governor, he had an enherint reponsibility to strongly support that ticket. His inactions, I think resulted in our losing the state to Obama.
On the other hand, any candidate facing Obama would have been called a racist by the media if they questioned anything that he was saying during the campaign. Obama’s campaign was on making changes, but no one ever asked him the simple questions of what would be chamged and why was it neccessary to make those changes? Obama spent lot of time in his campaign speachs reminding the American people that he was not a white politician. In my opinion, he was elected because of his race not in spite of it. His supporters knew little, if anything, on the issues facing our nation, but met the basic requirement of being 18 years old. You don’t have to be smart to vote. Our experiment in social balance has so far been a disaster.
@lightweight: Where are your references for the baseless claims you’ve made about Rubio supporting Amnesty and the North American Union?
Please enlighten us…
@lightweight So I am trash reporting?
What proof do you have of Rubio supporting amnesty? You don’t. If you do, please share. And don’t come back with regurgitated BS about him blocking bills, because he didn’t. Show us some legitimate proof.
I will be waiting for your evidence.
Lightweight, some of us are conservatives that lean towardslibertarianism. We believe in the Constitution, small government, gun rights, states rights, freedom of religion, & that there are things that are not the government’s business like what I do in my house, especially in my bedroom.
Mitt or Rudy should of been the GOP’s candidate last election instead of the old man McCain. We can thanks Charlie Crist for that. Worse campaign never in my life time. I swear I thought McCain was going to vote for Obama. His overweight progressive daughter is just as bad as her father. If we had either one of them as President right now, we would not be facing the illegal unconstitutional mess we are in now. Obama is just a community organizer from Chicago, the new version of Big Al Capone. So let Mitt endorse Marco & Big Al Obama can endorse Charlie.
There is no perfect candidate. Rubio hs his negatives but not the ones the aptly named “Lightweight”mentions. Compare our choices and Rubio is much to be desired over Crist by any conservative/libertarian criteria. As for Romney, he compares favorably to McCain but I sure hope we get a much better choice by this time next year. How about his RomneyCare in Mass? It is little different than ObamCare. We must do better to get the Republic back on its feet.
@George
As Rush would say,” Right on, Right on.”
Please don’t let Marco join Sarah, John, Mitt, and Rudy. They are all together for one big Bush-Bama gang bang. Rush is there to call the play by play. Despite what they say now to get elected, all of them are Globalist Elitists or soon will be after the election.
The only true Conservative running are Bob Smith a Republican….www.FriendsofSenatorBobSmith.com
Read the commentary on Red County by Richard Swier on his web-site ….bottom of list until Press Etc. for a good insight. Bob Smith has a proven record that no other candidate can even compare with. Everyone else only has rhetoric.
@kathy
You are right, no one can compare with Bob Smith. Especially when it comes to his endorsement of Liberal John Kerry over President Bush- simply treasonous.
End of story.
The only thing Romney is is a fiscal conservative. He’s not even close to being a social conservative. So anything he says or does must be taken with that in consideration, i.e. his traitorous endorsement of the King of the RINO’s, John McLame. Crist is almost as bad, he is the Prince of RINO’s, and Rubio must defeat him at all costs. Of course anything that walks and breathes, short of a Democrat, would be better than Crist.
As for Romney, after his record in the People’s Socialist Republic of Massachusetts, don’t like him, never will. Although he, even as a half-pretend ‘conservative,’ would still be a vast improvement over the outright Muslim Communist we have in the WH right now.
Mitt wants to work with the socialists and is not a “Principled Republican”. He allowed government health care to take a foot hold in MA. Mitt will never get my Vote. I want a real conservative with solid principles that will support and defend our (U. S. A.) Constitution Limit government and give people freedom to make their own choices.
