Many of you have read yesturday’s critical article written about Congressional Candidate Allen West in regards to his supposed anti-Muslim crazyness. Well, like most of you, I disagree with the writer of the piece. I do agree with the writer when he states that West is in politics and everyone needs to get used to the fact as a politician, he will be criticized- God only knows I get slammed on a regular basis.All of this is in part due to my unbelievable writing skills and dashing good looks.
Moving along, I wholeheartedly agree with West. As a whole, the Muslim community has not stood up to the threat of Islamic fundamentalism. So, if Muslims are just going to stay on the sidelines and not condemn the acts of a few, then they are just as culpable as the Terrorists themselves. I have spoken to many Islam practicing Middle-Easterners and for the most part they seem like law abiding ‘citizens’. I use the word citizens lightly because we have to first identify if they are in our country legally.
We hear in the mainstream media that innocent Muslims are killed in Terrorist attacks around the world. But we need to ask ourselves, just how innocent are they ? It has been reported time and time again that ‘innocent’ Muslims that did not come forward and warn authorities of an imminent attack did so because they feared for their family’s safety.This example is the kind of culpability that I am referring to.
Allen West’s website does state the biblical passage the writer refers so, so what?! Last time I checked, it was West’s website to do with whatever he feels like doing with it. Maybe the writer took offense that someone in the public eye actually had the stones to post something that had to do with religion? Remember, as Rush would say, this is right out of the Democrat playbook.
Now I am going to assume that we will all be labeled as Right-Wing Christian Fundamentalist for agreeing with the good Colonel, so bit it. The Republican Party is changing and is not the party that will stand by and concerning itself with political correctness. This is the type of ignorance and pre-9-11 mentality that is going to welcome another attack on our country.
Allen West is just what the GOP needs.

Allen West is what our COUNTRY needs. He has served America for over 22 years. He truly gets it!! From both a domestic & foreign affairs standpoint. He WARNED us about the Obama agenda – He continues to warn us about the threats from within. I will Vote for him & if this was Chicago – I’d Vote for him twice!!

Col West will make a great Representative. I along with others would vote for him if he was in my district. But I have supported him financially and will continue to do so.
You only have to hear Lt. CL. Allen West one time and you will want to hear every message after that. His intelligence is amazing, his background history, his stamina for standing up for all we believe in. This great man is Presidential material.
We in Broward County and the State of Florida will make sure he wins this race.

I’m a strong supporter of Col. West. He, unlike “my” current congressman Ron “Chase that ambulance!” Klein, is a REAL AMERICAN who not only supports our Constitution, free market economy, and institutions, he’s RISKED HIS LIFE for them in Iraq. Klein, on the other hand, is an Obama clone who HATES our Constitution as written (not the imaginary “living document based entirely on the commerce clause so favored by Democrat-socialists) favors a weak America abroad and socialism at home. He is, of course, a violent opponent of absolutely necessary tort reform; might cut into plantiff’s lawyers extorted income, a major part of the Democrat-socialist money supply.
The 21st Congressional District was deliberately designed by the GOP Florida legislature to elect REPUBLICANS. Clay Shaw held the seat for years. The electorate is rather evenly balanced between conservative voters mostly in single family homes and elderly northeastern “condo commandos,” quintesential Democrat liberals who just LOVE government handouts and sky high economy killing taxes, so long at they don’t hit THEM; just “rich guys” like the rest of us.
However, the latter group (at least those actually awere of it) is, according to the latest polls, really upset over Obamacare’s pillaging Medicare of over a half trillion dollars in order to “solve” the relatively small problem of uninsured Americans. Marxist type Obamacare will destroy the best healthcare system in the world, kill old people, and bankrupt our nation. “Throwing the baby out with the bath water” eh?
Seems they don’t much care for health care rationing, death panels, and the Rahm-Ezekiel Emmaneul proposition that they have a “duty to die” younger than necessary without the best treatment “for the good of society.”
Allen needs to make it clear just what a threat Obamacare is to older people. If enough of ‘em either stay home or actually vote Republican, Allen West WINS! It’s as simple as that.

Sorry Javier, I have to take issue with your op-ed. Do the math. There are over one billion Muslims in the world, and perhaps 10,000 Muslims who engage in terrorism. The odds that any particular Muslim knows a terrorist or knows of an upcoming terrorist attack are extremely remote, and yet you would blame Muslims in general for the scourge of terrorism. How does someone report information they do not possess to authorities? This point is not rational.
You’re also ignoring the fact that there ARE substantial groups of Muslims in resistance to terrorism. For example, there are strong resistance groups to the Iranian regime, such as the National Council of Resistance to Iran. The media generally overlooks resistance groups while playing up Muslim terrorists. I dare say there are far more members of NCRI than there are terrorists in the world.
I detest liberals who play the race card, endless smearing conservatives as racists and bigots. Why give them ammunition to use against us by stereotyping any large group of people?

One thing is for sure, Allen West can handle the heat, and handles him-self very will when talking down the usual traitors to this country! We will rally behind him! He is a true leader, and a respected one at that. I pray that he will give politics a whole new meaning!
I agree wholeheartedly with Javier. My co-host Daria DiGiovanni and I interviewed Lt. Col. West back in October and have talked to him many other times off the air. He’s right about this, “moderate” Muslims that don’t speak out and denounce the actions of the extremists are culpable.
The truth is compared to some Allen is tame in his criticisms. Tom Trento of the Florida Security Council and Pamela Geller of Atlas Shrugs are far more critical and even suggest that there is no such thing as a “moderate” Muslim.
In fact Sean Hannity recently did an interview with the son of the founder of Hamas, where the guy said the Western World’s concept of the “moderate” Muslim is a fallacy.

@Bob: Your figures are off. There are 1.2 billion Muslims in the world out of which 1% and growing are radicalized which amounts to 100,000 radicals at a minimum! That’s already a large force to contend with.
The Muslim doctrine is not only a religion. Being a total way of life, it encompasses everything, including politics and law. That makes Islam an ideology. Unfortunately, unlike the Hindus who accept everyone as being Hindu and are tolerant to an extreme, Islam makes no secret that it is exclusive and claims exceptionalism to rule the entire planet. Islam demands that the entire world become Islamic and those who resist are to be destroyed. As such, Islam cannot be appeased. In order to peacefully coexist with “diversity” in this world, Islam must go through a reformation that includes tolerance, which it currently does not.
In the best case scenario, the most tolerant that Islam allows for is to allow non-Muslims to live as second class citizens paying a Dhimmi Tax and being relegated to a lower class which is always subject to random persecution and acts of violence giving the non-Muslim no rights and always favoring the Muslim over the non-Muslim.
Lt. Col. Allen West said: “When tolerance becomes a one-way street, it leads to cultural suicide!” We should not be extending the same kind of tolerance to Muslims who refuse to reciprocate because of their own doctrine! That’s suicidal. We should be demanding that they can be granted no exceptions on the basis of religious freedom since they are not willing to grant us the same freedoms and since they constantly threaten to impose their Sharia Laws on all of us and to take precedence over our own laws. Thus, where Islam is concerned, apparently the separation of their Church (Mosque) and State doesn’t exist and the same rules don’t seem to apply. This is not their fault. It is our fault if we let it!
This is the United States of America! We are a sovereign nation based on Judeo/Christian values. We have our own system of government and of laws, which it is, according to our Constitution and the oaths taken by all who assume office, our duty to uphold and defend against enemies foreign and domestic. If we fail to do so, again, it is our fault! Nowhere in our Constitution does it talk about Political Correctness. The Separation of Church and State does not exist in the Constitution which only guarantees all freedom of religion (not freedom from religion) and the exercise thereof (meaning that you are free to exercise whatever religion or creed you chose — something which Islam does not allow). It is therefore incumbent upon us to enforce our own rules and laws within our own borders for the sake of our citizenry who must all agree to said rules and laws, without exception. Those who don’t like it must either accept our laws or go live elsewhere to suit themselves, but they cannot impose their laws and cultures upon the American people to supersede ours.
Lt. Col. Allen West is absolutely right when he states that we have been invaded! We must resist this invasion. I have no problem with allowing anyone to worship however they chose to worship. I object to demands at tax payers’ expense for any religion or culture to make demands for accommodations to their particular group and certainly the so-called privileges extended to a religion must be withdrawn from any doctrine which exceeds those boundaries relegated to a religion and invading the body politic — thus changing the nature of such a doctrine from being a religion to one of a political ideology — as such, no longer being able to benefit from those privileges relegated to religious institutions under our laws.
None of this would be a problem if we were to insist that our Constitutional Laws be upheld! As a sovereign nation, we have a right to insist that within our borders, our laws and culture be respected! Nowhere does it say that for the sake of Political Correctness are we to deny our citizens certain rights and privileges guaranteed by our Constitution so as to accommodate an invading culture and ideology. They are free to worship as they see fit within their own homes and mosques. They are not free to impose their creed upon us.
Allen West is firm in his beliefs… how refreshing! I look forward to his representation of FL District 22 after he wins in November. We need more elected officials that share his firm stance on the ideology of Islam to defeat terrorism.

Under the RELIGION section of this week’s issue of Newsweek, there is an article by a American Catholic woman who speaks out against the abusive acts of the Catholic priests against children. The title of the article is “Save The Children” and it’s URL is http://www.newsweek.com/id/235227. In the article, she talks about how her friend denounces these acts, and she rhetorically reflects asking “should I continue to send my kid to church?” in light of these abuses now made public.
all thinking, patriotic Americans expected to here from so-called “moderate” Muslims in America. Of course, we didn’t hear much of a peep from the American Muslim community. Yes, we know that Muslim women can’t socialize and join groups for any other cause except Islam. Yes, we know that some are not allowed by their husbands or fathers to go out and get a job and meet strange people in public. Yes, we know that it is against the teachings of Islam for Muslims to befriend non-Muslims.
But none of these things are required in order for a so-called “moderate” American Muslim man or woman to WRITE A LETTER into a newspaper or national magazine like Newsweek whenever something happens that would call for such condemnation.
This is a simple observation to make. It is not rocket science! Not to diminish the brilliance of Ltc West but what is so hard for people to understand? Ltc Allen West has made these observations and simply voices them. He calls it as he sees it – exclusive of any and all “political correctness” (which we are all aware is a resultant self-censorship. After all, the anti-critical thinking followers of Islam (read: Muslims) and the left don’t have the option of speech censorship!
This is why West has popular support. He says things that need to be said. He says things that we need to hear. It is common sense that so many of the puppets on the left lack. They are entirely oblivious to the dangers of Islam and give it carte blanche over America because one of our ancestors decided that Islam is a “religion”.
I remember when Glen Beck openly invited the American Muslim community to come on his radio show and/or his TV show. He would offer them free time for their words condemning Islamic terrorism and Islamic jihadism. The American Muslim community won’t even acknowledge that the terrorists have been all Muslim. Ltc has a job to do and he easily demonstrates in his speeches that he knows exactly what, when, where, why and how to do it.
@Gail – you need to repeat finite math. Using your 100,000 number for radicals (and radical does not necessarily mean one is a terrorist), divide into 1.2 billion and we arrive at 0.0083%, an infinitesimal number. I dare say we could find 0.0083% of the U.S. population who are on the radical fringes, either right or left.
@Javier and Gail – have any statistics or facts that show all Muslims turn a blind eye to terrorism? Supposition doesn’t cut it and neither does selective parsing of the Koran.
