Candidate for Florida’s Attorney General seat Pam Bondi has put out a op-ed expressing her dissatisfaction with the Obama Healthcare bill. Bondi is in the middle of a heated race for the Republican nomination with Lt. Governor Kottkamp and Fmr. State Legislature Holly Benson. Bondi is a former prosecuter from the Tampa Bay area and will be taking a swim in the Shark Tank next week.
Health Care Bill Is Unconstitutional
This week, President Barack Obama signed into law his health care reform bill, which is the largest, most expensive, and most divisive entitlement program produced in our nation in decades. Close to a thousand pages of this legislation are filled with rules, regulations and requirements that give government authority to put many of the freedoms we all enjoy in a stranglehold.
Until now, there have been very few times in the history of our nation that a single vote in Congress has fundamentally altered the way that Americans will live their lives, and changed the course of history for generations to come. And up until now, there have been even fewer instances of a single vote that have caused such anger, fear and debate over the meaning and intent of our Constitution.
This bill forces Americans to purchase health insurance against their will. It ignores decades of legal precedent and provides public funding for abortions. It initiates the first steps to a government takeover of our health care system. Finally, it imposes financial burdens so heavy and large that it is difficult to even imagine.
Many of us are asking: Where is this great country heading? What happened to our Constitution?
There is no doubt that our health care system is broken and that addressing its’ failings in a manner that is constitutional, fair to all Americans, bipartisan, and respectful of right to life should be a priority. However, the legal question being asked among scholars across the country today is whether the Constitution’s Commerce Clause grants Congress broad enough powers to order Americans to comply with the health insurance mandate, or pay a penalty. I don’t believe that it does.
As we enter this area of constitutional uncertainty, over three quarters of the individual states in our nation have proposed or passed 10th Amendment resolutions. In these resolutions the states declare themselves and their interests separate than that of our leaders in Washington. Florida’s own Attorney General Bill McCollum has joined Attorneys General across the state to file a lawsuit, challenging the constitutionality of this bill, and I unequivocally support these efforts on behalf of Florida’s citizens.
As an 18-year veteran prosecutor in Florida and a candidate for Attorney General of Florida, I am gravely concerned that this health reform bill infringes on the rights of our state’s sovereignty, as guaranteed by the 10th Amendment of our Constitution, and I will do everything in my power to protect those rights.
The people of our great nation will not stand idly by and allow government to strip us of the innovation, choice and free markets that make us the great nation we are today.
I predict that although President Obama has signed his name to the bottom of this bill, the ink of our history has not yet dried. The people of this great nation will not stand idle while any political party ignores their will, and I am confident that in November, they will make their voices heard.

Subject: Obamacare (My Personal Opinion by John A. McKay.)
(My personal opinion. I’m not famous nor do I have a radio talk show but if I did this is what I would express. We’re trying to intellectualize Obama’s behavior when we should be reading the writing on the wall.)
It’s called “Obamacare.” The Federal Government will now control your life and will decide who lives and who dies. They will FORCE us to visit a doctor when they decide. Most of the doctors will be on the Federal Government’s payroll. Now that they “provide” healthcare to everyone they will tell us that regular visits to their “doctors” will be considered “preventive” healthcare that will allow them to detect certain illnesses before they get out of control-thus eliminating major medical expenses. But in reality it’s similar to Hitler’s “trainloads to the gas chamber” system of eliminating the Jews. You’ll get your little notice in the mail telling you when and where your next “visit” is scheduled for. If you don’t comply you will be fined or perhaps imprisoned. Upon visiting “their” doctor you will be TOLD what you MUST do to comply with their rules. That will include any chemical injections (or surgeries) THEY say you must have to thwart off a certain illness. The “doctors” will have total control of what that injection contains and what that surgery involves. If you belong to a certain ethnic or political group the “doctor” will be made aware of “who gets what” in their injection (or perhaps surgery.) After a few “visits” the mandatory “healthcare” will thin out the less desirables. The “doctors” will have all of your personal info on his/her spreadsheet.
That’s what OBAMACARE is all about. Population control.
Regretfully

I agree whole-heartedly with Ms.Bondi; I as an American, will not be strong-armed into accepting a government health-care plan that forces me to do anything! Our country was founded on the beliefs of democracy and free-enterprise. This plan answers only to the weak and needy, looking for a quick fix. It is not the answer. Ms. Bondi intends to fight for the majority of us Floridians against this bill; Those of us who recognize and appreciate how competitive business make America thrive!
I, therefore, support Ms. Bondi.
Ms. Bondi,
In the sense that it constitutes a historical Wake-Up Call, the health bill may be just what the doctor ordered.
Let’s take this state sovereignty issue to its next logical level.
As Attorney General are you willing to recognize that within the sovereign state of Florida (primarily within its ‘even more’ sovereign counties), we individual Floridians have ALL the government we need, and that in our Republic the U.S. central government exists only to serve in a limited capacity at the aggregate pleasure of the states?
This is the moment to seize for ourselves, and to restore this important, long forgotten concept. Who better to lead this effort than the Attorney General of the state?

Check the SWBRO website for details http://www.swbrogop.org. Speak up, Don’t be Silent!
Having worked as an ICU nurse for 35 yrs, I recognize that the alleged health care bill is not about health care delivery or even health care insurance, but about government control over the citizens who foot all the bills. This bill stinks. Congressman Dingle of Michigan pretty well summed it up- it takes a lot to come up with a law “to control the people”. It seems quite an irony that the Constitution which founded our country was under 100 pages long, and this behemoth is over 2700 pages long. Evidently the founders wanted to control the people much less than the federal government today. So, the line is drawn in the sand- I would not vote for anyone who supported this unconstitutional bill. I also would not vote for anyone who supports this administration because most of what they have done since taking office restricts liberties we have taken for granted, defies the constitution, and undermines capitalism. Pretty sad to say, I trust my insurance man much more than I trust the “leader of the free world.” I just read a great historical novel written by Taylor Caldwell in the early 1940s, called Time No Longer, about a German family. The parallels I see in our country today are stunning. Pam, you have my vote.

Great Post, I was wondering did you hear that Dade County , Florida has decided interference with free speech by pulling ads about Islam. This is outrageous and a huge waste of tax payer money will be pent paying legal costs to defend this practice.
I think that President Obama is doing a ok job, but he needs to stop bowing all the time
