Holly Benson, candidate for Attorney General

The Shark Tank rounded up its interviews with the candidates for Attorney General for Florida when Holly Benson agreed to jump in the tank. I met up with Holly in Miami last week and asked her about the position, as well as a couple of other issues.  There is no mistaking that Benson is an seasoned politican and an excellent candidate for AG. Here is an excerpt from her biography that is posted on her website.

‘Benson served as Secretary of the Agency for Health Care Administration. In that role, Benson worked to significantly reduce Medicaid fraud and to hold health care providers accountable. In addition, she worked to streamline the regulatory process and reduce the regulatory burden for providers and consumers while never compromising the safeguards protecting the health and well-being of patients.
Prior to her appointment as Secretary of the Agency for Health Care Administration, Secretary Benson served as Secretary of the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. As head of DBPR she led a team that improved customer service and reduced the red tape taxes that drive up costs for Florida’s businesses and professionals. The Department is responsible for licensing over 1 million Floridians.

In “The Shark Tank rounded up it’s interviews …” the correct spelling is “its”, not “it’s”. You use the possessive adjective here, not the contraction for “it is”.

  2. @Pedro Nice catch! Thanks for the heads up. I fixed the typo

  3. I met Holly while she was at the DBPR. She was the first secretary that reached out to the appointed board members to see how she could make things better. She was truly committed to making the business licensing process smoother and less problematic than it had been. She’ll be a great AG.
