Fmr. Congressman Clay Shaw- “I certainly would not support Charlie…”

I caught up with Former Congressman E. Clay Shaw at an Allen West for Congress event and asked him if he would support  Governor Crist  over Marco Rubio, if Crist were to run as an Independent.  Remember, Congressman Shaw is a long time supporter of Governor Crist, and he was on the Governor’s  short list of potential appointees to the U.S. Senate seat that was vacated by Senator Martinez . As we all know, Crist somewhat dubiously appointed his long time friend and advisor George LeMieux to the position.

  1. The polling I saw today on FoxNews was Rubio 56%, Crist 33%. I am scratching my head trying to figure this out. If 56% support Rubio over Crist, does he think running as an independent will ingratiate him with conservatives and pull votes from Rubio?????
It is more likely that he will pull from Meeks. The logic makes no sense to me, but the pure politics of it is quite nauseating. Sour grapes are always nauseating though, aren’t they?
The moral of this story is: If you are going to spend multiple thousands of dollars on radio and TV ads, use the investment from your supporters to share what you think are your strong points- don’t waste their money merely tearing your opponent down. Seeing the non-stop mud-slinging Crist ads has not changed my opinion of Rubio; nor has it changed my opinion of Crist.
    Sorry, Charlie.

  2. Floria Republicans against Crist!

Clay knows whats up. Crist is done!

  3. My family will be supporting Rubio. We’re sick of the TV ads Crist is running with his mud-slinging. I have yet to hear what Crist would do as a senator in Washington if he were to win. He seems to choose whatever suits the moment, in other words, he blows which every way the wind blows. No stability.
