Video:Daniel Webster- Congressional Canidate FL District 8

May 25, 2010

Daniel Webster, a family man and small-business owner, has dedicated himself to serve the citizens of central Florida with honor and integrity. During his tenure in office, he has proven himself to be a true statesman, standing by his principles and steadily advancing conservative values. As the state House Republican Leader in the 1990s, Webster engineered the successful Republican takeover of 1996, ending 122 years of Democrat control and becoming the first GOP Speaker of the House in over a century.
From his first day in leadership, Webster worked to reform the way the Legislature did business, and his sweeping conservative reforms earned him widespread praise from the people of Florida.  As Speaker of the House, Webster required each proposed law to meet specific criteria that would determine its effectiveness in advancing conservative principles.Daniel Webster was elected to the Florida Senate in 1998 and served as Majority Leader his final three years.  Being known as a man of his word, Webster continued to gain respect and acclaim on both sides of the aisle for his solid principles and trusted leadership.

Above all, Daniel Webster still holds his faith, his family, and his principles as his biggest assets. These are the same values he will rely on to guide him as our U.S. Congressman.

Yes Webster is exactly what we need, another life-time politician. He is the epitome of career politician – 30 years in office!!! What exactly is he bringing that is different to the table? Look at Florida, we are in trouble everywhere in this state. The best thing he can do for Florida is go back to fixing air conditions this summer!

  2. VOTE OUT INCUMBENTS says:

ITS INCUMBENTS LIKE KURT KELLY AND DAN WEBSTER THAT DROVE THIS STATE INTO THE GROUND. OUR STATE IS BROKE AND WE HAVE RECORD UNEMPLOYMENT AND THEY WANT TO SPEND BILLIONS OF DOLLARS ON A RAIL SYSTEM. SAY NO TO CAREER POLITICIANS LIKE KURT KELLY AND DAN WEBSTER!!!

We need a level and clear thinking representative from District 8 in Washington. We do NOT have that now. Webster has proven that he can do the job. I am 100% in support of him.

    @vote out incumbants
It is obvious that you are a newcomer to politics or you would know that Kurt Kelly was a rookie in the Florida House of Representatives (not a “career politician”). Here our entire country is going Socialist, with Government running every aspect of our lives, and you’re stuck on one issue you disagree with. Kurt Kelly has fought for our system of government, and to preserve our US Constitution.

Kurt Kelly has been a politcal activist for conservative values since his college days..

As a Marion County School Board Member, he was responsible for getting the MARS, Abstinence Only program into our middle schools (whereby our teen pregnancy rate declined every year since the program began).

In his short term in the House, he has managed to sponsor and worked to pass a bill curtailing dating violence and prescsription drug abuse (very unusual for a Junior Legislator to get something passed his first time out).

Furthermore, it was under Charlie Crist’s watch that Florida went into deficit! Jeb left us with a surplus. Crist has called so many Special Sessions (which are extremely expensive) that this alone has cost Florida a fortune!)

Kurt Kelly is so loved in Marion County that he was recruited by many voters and constituents to run against Grayson, because Kurt is a fighter, he is a man of honor, he is well-informed on the issues of importance, he is articulate, he is quick thinking on his feet, he is a brilliant orator, and when he believes in an issue he can out-debate anyone.

Grayson is a bully, and a potty mouthand, and he will eat anyone alive who isn’t knowledgeable, articulate, and quick thinking. Although we have a number of good candidates running, Kurt Kelly is the only one who can put this foul mouthed incumbent from Harvard under the table, and Kurt will do it with dignity!

In my opinion Kurt Kelly is the only candidate who can outdebate grayson. The rest are good people, but they are not speakers, nor are they debaters. They do not know the issues as well, and they aren’t quick enough to be able to show Grayson for the vicious, double dealing, double talking person he is. I have listened to his answers on his town hall phone calls, and know that he is being very dishonest about specific legislation, because I’ve read the bills myself!

For the people who are up in arms about one single issue, I would ask…. Where were you when you should’ve been helping to educate the voters, and educate your legislators? Are you one of those people who whines after the fact. Legislators can’t represent “we the people” unless they know what “we the people” want, now can they? And “We the People” better know the facts before they present them to the voters or the Legislators. Kurt Kelly’s office is not only always open to his constituents, and he not only listens, he works to make things happen.

There is no candidate or legislator who will agree with you 100% of the time. But I am very fiscally, and morally conservative, and Kurt Kelly has been on my side and the side of his constituents 99.9% of the time!

Another thing one must consider is that when a Republican candidate runs in a primary, the candidate must be electable. If we already know that the candidate carries some personal, scandalous baggage (like with a single, major scandal, or things that have happened not just once, but numerous times), even if the candidate has recently gotten beyond the scandal, you can bet that in the General Election, the Dems, the Libertarians, etc., are going to beat that scandal to death!

No human being is perfect, but elected officials must be held to a higher standard than regular folks. Republicans have to elect people who not only talk the talk in standing for our principles, but who walk the walk!

We need to go back to electing people of high moral character, who stand for truth, integrity, because for the most part, whatever moral guide they live by, will pretty much be the moral guide they base their votes on.
