Patricia Sullivan has a passion for people, not programs. She longs to empower her fellow citizens to take back their government, to return to the vision and values of our Founding Fathers. Patricia believes in a republic that preserves the rights our Constitution guarantees. She intends to restore our nation’s identity as a place where freedom and responsibility coincide.
Born in Alabama, Patricia has lived in Florida since 1973, when her family moved to Seminole County. An AA graduate of Seminole Community College, she and husband Scott have been married for eighteen years. Lake County residents since 2001, the Sullivans have four children: Jennifer, Danny, Ben, and Emily.
A longtime homeschooler, Patricia believes strongly in local—not federal—jurisdiction over education. As someone who knows how to balance a checkbook and live within a budget, Patricia is committed to stop deficit spending, federal buyouts, and the many other problems big government creates.
An active church member, Precept Bible study leader, and 4-H leader at local and state levels, Patricia makes a difference wherever she goes. Named “Volunteer of the Year” in 2007 by the Florida State 4-H Youth Development Program, she has served in 4-H since 2002. Patricia is also founder and president of the Lake County 4-H Foundation, which secures scholarship resources for leadership camps and other youth activities.
Patriots love their country so much that they willingly take action to protect it. When Congress passed the largest spending bill in our country’s history in February, 2009, Patricia responded. She co-organized the North Lake TEA Party in hopes that fifty like-minded individuals would join her. On April 15, over 1,000 came to align their hearts and voices.
Patricia received similar affirmation—and an equally large turnout—at the second North Lake TEA Party on July 4. She created the North Lake TEA Party website and has led her fellow patriots to impact key local decisions. Patricia’s Tea Party leadership has allowed her to build key relationships at local, state, and federal levels. A common-sense approach and genuine passion for her nation combine to make her the patriot’s choice: today, tomorrow, and in the critical times ahead.

Anybody but Kurt Kelly!!!!! Patricia Sullivan is a proven HONEST hard working, Constitutional loving Patriot! We need more like her all over this state. No more of the “let me climb up the later for my own self serving reasons” type of politicians like Kurt Kelly. Marion County residents know him well and know the dangers of this man!

Why I support Patricia Sullivan: (little known facts)Patricia IS a successful former Home Business Owner, she was a Sales Superstar earning numerous sales awards, even having a sales award named for her. Patricia also became a regional leader and trainer within her organization, often training 50 – 100 associates in business concepts and strategy, marketing and networking, and sales and customer service to name a few. I personally have witnessed Patricia’s abilities to manage a budget, utilize critical thinking to problem solve and mediate differences between parties, employ creativity and think outside the box or utilize a methodical and process based approach when necessary. As far as her ability to organize, motivate, negotiate, and coach individuals to influence thought and engage them into action I hold up her grass roots campaign and her “Patriot Army” of over 400 strong as evidence enough. In addition to her numerous efforts to support the Lake County community through her hard work and dedication to the 4-H organization, her founding and directing of the Lake County 4-H Foundation, and her efforts with the “Ribs for Kids” campaign, Patricia has instilled this same dedication to “Service” in her family; her eldest daughter founded and leads the “Peanut Butter POP” campaign and is a leader with “Teen PAC” traveling throughout America teaching our youth.
As for Patricia’s strength and fortitude to stand strong in the face of adversity, I hold as evidence her ability to recognize early on in 2009 the destructive direction our current administration was heading, to stand with like minded individuals, speak out, take action and Co-Found the North Lake TEA Party. On the issues, in my hours of research on all the Republican Candidates in this 8th Congressional race, Patricia is the ONLY candidate whom has published Issue Statements which contain more than rhetoric, double speak or the many so called “buzz words”. Patricia has and continues to speak intelligently, with a deep understanding, willingness to learn, debate, and engage the voters, her fellow candidates, business professionals, other political figureheads, and the public in thoughtful discourse winning their support every day.
I’m supporting Patricia Sullivan because she’s in this race to help save the country from the mounting debt and deficits and restore to us the type of government as laid out in the Constitution. Like me, she wants a smaller, less intrusive government in our lives. Let the Federal government take care of only those items outlined in the Constitution which affect the country as a whole such as national defense, and let the States and Local bodies take care of their own business. The problems we are seeing are the result of the Federal government spending too much time meddling in the affairs of the States and not doing the job they are supposed to do like defending our borders and ensuring our peace and tranquility from people that wish to harm us. The Federal government is too far removed from the common man to understand the day-to-day needs and ends up wasting our precious tax dollars on schemes designed more to ensure their re-election than to provide for the common good of the populace. It’s time to return to First Principles of the Constitution. The Founding Fathers provided a blueprint for success, let’s follow it.
Although I am not in Patricia Sullivan’s district I have followed her campaign and am impressed with her accomplishments. As a mother and grass roots activist myself I applaud her love of this country and it’s citizens. Thank you Patricia for giving us an honest voice for true change.

She is a citizen patriot with the time, talent, motivation, and desire to serve Florida’s 8th district. She brings character and honor to the seat. Patricia Sullivan. “She makes a difference wherever she goes.” This says it all, so what more can I say? This lady will make a difference in Washington, DC where we are in desperate need for returning our government back to the rule of law as required by our Constitution. Why is this necessary?
From the day our Constitution became the law of the land, it became the guiding light that transformed our 13 original colonies from a chaotic, squabbling population where anarchy, bankruptcy, confusion and despair prevailed (sound familiar?) to the leading economic and military power of the world in less than 100 years. And we didn’t owe a dime to any nation! Patricia Sullivan has really motivated me to become involved in the coming 8th Congressional District primary, as one of her volunteers. I am impressed with Patricia Sullivan. She has the right idea, government is not supposed to be an aristocratic eliete. They are supposed to be our neighbors and local business people. She is very qualified, and of very good character.

Common sense and low-key leadership are sorely lacking in the incumbant. Mrs. Sullivan’s unique skillset has prepared her to lead the district and our country. I’m surprised at the negative comment regarding Kurt Kelly? He didn’t become a Godly man just when he decided to run for this seat but instead has been a volunteere Minister of Music at Baptist churches his entire adult life on Sundays. The only people in Marion County who would have a problem with him would be those who dislike Christians and believe me there are plenty of those. When I think of Kurt Kelly the saying “Goodness is such a threat to those at the opposite end of the spectrum”
says it all in his life.
Plain and simple, Sullivan is not ready for US Congress. She has absolutely no resume. It may sound like the Cinderella story to go from waitress and stay at home mom to US Congress, but it is too dangerous to send someone like that up against the Harvard educated Alan Grayson. She has shown that she doesn’t have a good command of the facts either. Check out her Orlando Sentinel Editorial Board interview. In it without explanation, she says that if she were in Congress she would not have voted for the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act and wasn’t sure if she would vote for the Civil Rights Acts. NOT SURE IF SHE WOULD VOTE FOR THE CIVIL RIGHTS ACTS? WHAT? When asked further she said “Don’t go there”. She obviously has no clue what these pieces of legislation did or maybe she is against allowing freed black slaves to vote or against discrimination in public places?
Also, check out the article “Dishonesty and Dirty Tricks in Florida US Congressional District 8.” See how Sullivan and her team of “Patriots” doctored up a video of a Fanelli supporter at a Tea Party rally. A Fanelli supporter was holding a sign up and she photoshopped the supporter’s sign to make it one of her signs. So much for free speech.

Also, the Civil Rights Act of 1964 Did Not as you state “allowing freed black slaves to vote or against discrimination in public places?” The Civil Rights Act of 1964 DID “forbid discrimination on the basis of sex as well as race in hiring, promoting, and firing. In the final legislation, Section 703 (a) made it unlawful for an employer to ‘fail or refuse to hire or to discharge any individual, or otherwise to discriminate against any individual with respect to his compensation, terms, conditions or privileges or employment, because of such individual’s race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.’ The final bill also allowed sex to be a consideration when sex is a bona fide occupational qualification for the job. Title VII of the act created the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) to implement the law.”

Kawgirl – there were actually several Civil Rights Acts, with 1964 being one of eight. Yes, one of the Civil Rights Acts did allow freed black slaves to vote, Civil Rights Act of 1866. She did not answer the question at all. What trap is it to fall into on whether or not you support any of the Civil Rights Act bills. You either know what it is and support it or you don’t.
Patricia, I have been agonizing over which candidate in the field of seven would earn my vote. I have listened (when possible) to Bud Hedinger’s interviews with the candidates but, alas, I missed the day he interviewed you. I’m not able to get around well right now so I could not make it to the Winter Garden meeting Thursday evening, but fortunately I was able to hear some of the candidates on Bud’s website. I had not looked into your background to date and was really blown away by your appearance. I have now visited your website and acquainted myself with you, your background, your beliefs, and your family. I must tell my friends to give you their vote. You state your case for our Country’s future succinctly and with great conviction.
