Rubio -”Obama’s Response to the Oil Spill Has Shown a Lack of Competence” (VIDEO)

by Javier Manjarres

On the heels of Senator George LeMieux’s relevation to the Shark Tank about President Obama’s derelict response to the BP oil spill, The Shark Tank caught up with U.S. Senate candidate Marco Rubio as he swam into the Tank’s territorial waters in Fort Lauderdale.  Like Senator LeMieux, Rubio criticized ‘the Messiah’ for his tepid response to the spill in the Gulf, stating that the  ”the response has been a catastrophe- a disaster equal to the spill itself.”  Rubio is stepping up his criticism of President Obama for his startling inaction to this crisis – a response that many people feel is intentionally negligent because almost every aspect of the disaster response is being hindered by agencies of the federal government- from the deployment of naval assets to the creation of sand berms.  Rubio also smacked down former Republican Governor Charlie Crist for being “content” with the Obama Administration’ response to the oil spill: (VIDEO)

  1. Crist’s failure to demand more of the Federal Government is astonishing. Even Senator Nelson and Representative Boyd have begun criticizing the Federal efforts. The Governor is playing the middle at the expense of the citizens he so desperately wishes to represent.

  2. Florida Independent Voter

Marco is right! Gov.Crist is pandering to the Democrats for votes! Crist will not put pressure on Obama to over ride the “JONES ACT!” And Crist will not criticize Obama and this administration to get those thousands of Skim lines that are wasting away in storage rooms because he does not want to get Democrats upset so they wont vote for him! Florida needs a leader like Gov.Jindal right now not a panderer like Gov.Crist!!!

  3. Not very impressive actually. Overall I liked him in the Florida legislature, however there are better candidates running against him for the U.S. Senate like Alexander Snitker and Bernie DeCastro who would be better placed than Rubio.

  5. Alexander Snitker? That WACO!? The man has no money and most of Florida does not even know who he is with 4 1/2 months to go to election time. A vote for Alexander is a vote for Crist and we refuse to allow Crist to get in and vote for Obama’s agenda! Marco is ten times better than that CRAZY 3rd party candidate that believes that 911 was an inside job! Please!!!!!

  6. I also like Alexander but I’m being realistic… He really does not have a chance this year. I’m voting for Rubio. Just sayin…

  7. Go Rubio!!!

  8. Florida Democrat voter

Marco is right. Crist is an opportunist!

My personal opinion. Is that Obama is doing this intentionally. He want’s to destroy our Country. He is more concerned about forcing us into getting health care. and passing bills on same sex marriages than what is happening to our environment and our wildlife. It isn’t just about the money. That’s part of it. But what about our animals?

We need to wake up America. This man is worse than a Nazi as far as I am concerned. We are in auto pilot self destruct with him as our President. God help us, I am praying that come November we as Americans can make a change. Many people voted for Obama without even really knowing who they were voting for. It is very sad.

He does not care about our country. Period. It is obvious with this oil spill what has he done? his efforts are geared into defending the Gay rights. And he claims he is a Christian. What a joke!

  11. SoccerMom & Terri,

You will have a decision to make come November. Are you going to trade in your principles for strategy or do the right thing and stick to your principles?

That is what is sorely lacking in the country – people who give in too easily strategizing a block of another candidate. If we had voters who voted their conviction, Snitker & DeCastro would be doing far better in the polls, in the media, and in their campaign treasuries.

If one is a true conservative and also a Tea Partier (remember? principles over party?), then you owe it to yourself to investigate each candidate and align yourself with the one closest to your value system. To do anything but is doing a disservice to yourself, your family, and your country. If that person is Rubio, then great.

Don’t you have far more respect for someone that votes their principles, then simply votes for who can win. And if not, then you may as well leave the Tea Party movement, because all is then lost.

How many candidates have you worked for on their campaign and voted for in the voting booth who turned around and voted OPPOSITE your value system once in office? For me, it has been far too many which is why I left the Republican Party in 1996 and frankly, should have left sooner.

  12. With all due respect to supporters of Snitker and De Castro. I have been active in politics for a long time. My experience with third party candidates is they can’t win but they skew the vote such that the very person you wanted to defeat gets elected. What have you gained?

  13. Mr Dickey-

Ive actually voted for you in a prior election, but I must disagree with your analysis here. If Libertarians like yourself and Snitker are more concerned about complete ideological purity to all Libertarian tenets and winning debating points, then continue to vote for Libertarian candidates with exactly zero chance of winning and governing. Libertarians have an important voice, but voting third party these days is the fastest road to a Socialist State, because we are all in danger of being steamrolled together by the Left. Where there are solid conservative candidates running, it is a complete waste to vote for a candidate like Snitker, who failed to get any traction and is reduced to publicity stunts to gain any attention.

  14. Has Rubio paid off the money owing on that foreclosed house of his yet? That sort of thing is not helping his campaign.

  15. The advantages of big incompetent government. From allowing the dumb single casing well design to be used, to the f###up government software flow models that allowed BP to get environment to the skimmers that are still siting in harbor in the Netherlands and Saudi Arabia … I could go on, but as a resident of the gulf coast, I am afraid I might literally blow my top.

  16. I feel that all of these third party candidates are in it simply for persnal gain. Maybe the Republican party should offer them a job-seems like that is what they want. I maybe wrong, they just only want attention. Snitker appears to be a little whining girl. I was his ridiculous outburst and I was embarrassed for him and his wife and kids. Libertarians and others need to vote for Rubio because he is the best chance we have to beet Crist and the other Democrat.

    Wake up people!

  17. Good evening all,

It is comments like I have seen here that make me want to throw up my hands and walk away from politics – but I can’t. I can’t because I’m in business and every business I am in seems to get more and more regulated every year no matter if Republicans or Democrats are in charge. Deficits continue to spiral out of control. Our national debt at the point of no return. The spending continues to expand no matter who is in office.

I thought my Republican friends were as fed up as I was which is why so many started 9-12 groups and Tea Parties across the country.

Apparently not. Apparently the status quo is just fine. All this talk about Principles over Party seems to be nothing but hogwash.

George, I sincerely appreciate your vote when I ran for state senate against Deutch, however would I have had your vote had a Republican been running in the race? Even a RINO? I hope so, but one has to wonder.

Lisa (B?), Libertarians are interested in winning elected office and the only reason they seek attention is because it is not given gratis like the Dems & Republicans get. I don’t think it is much to ask when a candidate has qualified to be on the ballot that the candidate is treated fairly. It is just that media exclusion which prompts so many (out of frustration) to show up at events uninvited. In all honesty, how would you feel if you were a legitimate candidate, paid the $10,440 to be on the ballot and you were treated like a second class citizen by the media. You’d be upset as well and demand fair coverage.

And Lisa…personal gain? Are you serious? There is nothing more draining to a candidate’s personal bank account and earning power than running a campaign. Not to mention the effect it has on one’s family. People run for office for many different reasons and I can tell you about 80%+ of the Libertarians I know who have run, are running to affect serious change in the political system – not for ego, not for personal gain, etc.

  19. Mr. Dickey-

No need for you to wonder- Yes, I would have supported you EVEN if you were a RINO against Deutch, even though there is not a shred of RINO-ism in my political philosophy. Why, you may ask? Because I use my vote tactically, not just for candidates that line up with me ideologically. Considering how stacked that Senate District you ran in is against non-Democrat candidates, sometimes you do have to settle for a lesser candidate in certain Districts. But in jurisdictions where across-the-board conservative candidates are credibly running, they deserve Libertarians’ votes, and that is my point.

The place to defeat RINOs is in Republican primaries at this critical time in our country- that’s what we did with Crist. We are only 2 election cycles from irretrievably losing our country to State Socialism, and we need to stop Progressives however we can- whether it’s with RINOs, Conservatives, Tea Party candidates, Trotskyites, whatever- they need to be defeated in every jurisdiction across the country. You Libertarians should understand this, and use your vote accordingly to stop progressives now rather than piss your vote away. When the time comes to step up and defeat Barack Obama and his Corruptocrats, you Libertarians will really have “Jumped the Shark” if you end up supporting Bob Barr en masse over a conservative Republican candidate. A vote for him (or candidate like him) is not only a complete waste of a much needed vote, but would also demonstrate a complete lack of judgement. The Libertarian vote may very well be determinative in 2010 and 2012, we hope you’re thinking realistically rather than delusionally .

@ Karl, I was going to vote for Alexander Snitker as well but I found out that he is a little crazy and I realized that now nobody will really vote for him! I saw a video of him disrupting a forum and all he did was rant and rave and make an ASS of himself! All this guy does is cry like a little GIRL and acts like he is the best thing since slice bread! Reality check… Alexander has no money to fund his campaign he has no name recognition and he has just a few supporters that make a lot of noise! You might disagree with Marco on some things but Rubio is a MILLION times better then Alexander as a candidate and i’m not going to waste my vote! Crist must be DEFEATED and Rubio can do that plus Rubio’s views are fine with us! Go Rubio!!!!

  25. I have seen the above referenced comments.

I get the ideas that all of these comments show one thing, that is sacrificing principle. No wonder we find ourselves in this situation.

I had emailed the Rubo campaIgn. I inquired if he was going to sign the 10th ammendment center’s 10-4 pledge. I got a response. It was the same tired out diatribe that a typical politician sends. I was involved with the Republican Party in my county for many years. I am the former Chair of the Republican Liberty Caucus of Florida. I became rather nauseated with the Republican Party of Florida as they still act as Democrats. Mr Rubio never responded to my emails. He is just part of the good ol boy establishment.

As an American of Cuban descent, I am supporting Alexander Snitker. You want to know why you all say the Libertarian party is not well known? It is pure media bias which is the same on both the liberal media and the so called more Conservative media. All that Mr Snitker wished to do was to be in the debates. It appears that many of you have been indoctrinated to sacrifice principle. I know one thing I will not sacrifice mine. NO WAY IN HELL WILL I SACRIFICE MY PRINCIPLES!! I saw too much of that before coming to the U.S. from Cuba.. Now would any one wish to debate me on that??

  26. Marco, your the Man!

  27. @ Al

No one would advise you to sacrifice YOUR principles, but understand that your principles alone aren’t going to carry the day if enough people don’t subscribe to them or support candidates who do. I support the Constitution no less than you do as an indy conservative. The bottom line is Snitker failed to make a splash, and now he’s a farce. We’ve got to win, it’s about achieving victory and stopping the radical lefty agenda. A vote for Snitker is a wasted vote and will be one less vote for a candidate that will be a consistent opponent of Obama, which is why the Democrat Party is supporting Crist, not Meek, because defeating Marco is a much more important objective for them.

How dare you! That is NOT what Libertarians believe.

  30. MARCO IS BEHIND IN THE POLLS, I BELIEVE IF HE WOULD CHANGE CAMPAIGN MANAGERS AND EMBRASS THE TEA PARTY BY SHOWING UP THROUGHT OUT FLORIDA AND SPEAKING TO THE TEA PARTY GROUPS HE WILL GAIN IN THE POLLS. MANY TEAPARTY MEMBERS ARE UPSET BECAUSE THEY FILL IF MARCO CAN NOT SHOW UP AT THERE MEETINGS WHY SHOULD THEY BACK HIM
SO COME ON MARCO GET IT TOGETHER, ESPECIALLY IN CENTRAL FLORIDA. THERE ARE A LOT OF VOTES HERE.

  31. First,Rubio knew what the question was and started answering as soon as the question was done.By his facial response he was not even thinking about what was besing said,he was waiting to answer after each question. He will get tripped up if he runs into a person who asks an unrehearshed question.Rubio will give birth to another “Joe the plummer.”
Rubio is imcompetent to sugest Obama is a poor exable of a president.Obama is not incomptent,he is not a president,he is an enemy occupier. All you have to do is ask for his birth certificate.Obama is purposely breaking America by ignoring our tradgeties.

“Never let a crisis go to waste……we can do things, that under normal circumstance, we would not be able to do”…. Emanuel, Obama Chief of Staff. Never forget that he said this. Wether a crisis is sabotage or accidental, this administration will use it to further its agenda to strip America of its wealth and productivity in order to rebuild it to the lowest world wide order. This is the quickest way to reduce Ameica to the one world order.
This administration has no regard for the good old U.S.A, ITS CONSTITUTION, NOR ITS BASIC VALUES, ON WHICH IT WAS BUILT. We are systematically being robbed of our greatness. Take a look at what Chavez has done to Venezuala in only a couple of years. We are in for a dictatorial regime if we are not very, very, careful. The many examples of this methodology are everwhere. Pay attention America. Czars are being appointed in record numbers to by pass congress, and Executive orders are being abused in order to exact damaging policy. etc., etc.
