Florida GOP Congressional Candidate Robert Lowry Served With Lawsuit

The Shark Tank has just come in possession of court documents filed in the 11th Judicial Circuit Court in Miami, Florida regarding a suit filed by Dr. Benjamin Bullard, plaintiff, against Lowry Group Properties,Inc d/b/a Sunny Hills Assisted Living Facility, Inc-Defendant. Lowry Group Properties, Inc. is owned by Robert Lowry, one of several GOP candidates for U.S. Congress in Florida’s Congressional District 20, and Lowry is also mentioned in the suit.
The initial complaint was brought upon by Dr. Bullard, a former employee, against Lowry Group Properties, Inc.- for violations of the Florida Whitstleblower Act. Bullard alleges that since day one of his employment at Sunny Hills Assisted living home, numerous unlawful acts and practices were perpetuated by Lowry Group and its employees.
This suit is filled with all sorts of juice, including accusations of Sexual Harrassment, Employment by the facility of convicted Felons, the neglect of Elderly and disabled patients, racism, and the discrimination of Dr. Bullard’s HIV status-Bullard was later terminated.
On several occasions, Bullard claims that Raymond Phillippe, CEO of Sunny Hills, sexually harassed him with unwelcome sexual advances which made him feel uncomfortable enough to complain to Mr. Lowry. On another occasion, Bullard accuses Mr. Raymond of unlawfully firing an employee Viola Knight as the activity director at Sunny Hills because of her African-American race. Raymond is being accused of referring to Ms. Knight as a “ fat-ass ni**er bitch”, when referring to her firing.
Robert Lowry has been in the news this past year when he made off-colored remarks at a debate between GOP Congressional candidates, and also while at a gun range last year, he scribbled the initials’ DWS’ on a target (Sun-Sentinel) shot at it and then posed with the target. At first, he denied knowledge of the target, he then later admitted he knew it was there and shot at the initials, saying that it was a mistake.

This does not surprise me. Bullard is a great guy and when he went to work for him, I knew that he was too good to work for him.
Character is king, however, Lowry has none of the sort.

Hollywood, FL – Yesterday, one of the companies owned by Republican Candidate Robert Lowry was served notice of a lawsuit alleging wrongful termination from a disgruntled former employee. This motion is baseless. Lowry’s company has filed a motion for the immediate dismissal of the case, citing that the allegations made in the initial document are blatantly false, unsubstantiated, and are pejorative in nature.
The disgruntled former employee has significant ties to one of Candidate Lowry’s political opponents. In owning assisted living communities for the past dozen years, which have provided a living for hundreds of Florida families, there have never been any challenges to the integrity of Mr. Lowry’s employment practices. Due to these facts, it is the campaign’s contention that these allegations are politically motivated, rather than based in any fact.
“It’s very disappointing that it is becoming politics as usual. Attacks like this are why good people often refuse to run for office. This attack is an attempt to distract me from the campaign. I refuse to be bullied, and my company will be vindicated. ” Mr. Lowry stated
Keep your chin up everyone, this is where our opponents are sinking to in order to win. It isn’t going to work. Don’t lose focus, and keep strong, if you have any questions, you can ask me about them, but keep in mind that nothing in the lawsuit is truthful. I know you all have seen how nasty our opponents can get, so something like this is no surprise.
We still will see Victory in 2010 and 2012!
P.S. It seems as if Lowry’s business is being sued because of his politics and his campaign. I personally haven’t made up my mind about which Republican to support, but am leaning more towards Lowry! Karen is one of the most liberal Republican candidates I have seen in a long time and she never gives a clear stance on amnesty! I haven’t done that much research on Donna, but I will.
This is not a surprise to me. Lowry comes across as a typical politcal snake in the grass.he cannot be trusted, i wonder what else he is hiding. My vote is for Harrington now. Lowry is showing his true colors.
And he wants to represent us in Congress? He is endorsed by those whack-o’s at DC Works for Lowry-that says alot about them. Idiots. But then again, they did back another deadbeat loser of a candidate, Edward Lynch.

It’s always amazing to me that as soon as accusations are made against Republicans or conservatives, before one tenth of the information is available, certain kool aide sippers are ready with blanket condemnations.
It is almost as if they know that the accusations will be refuted with facts, so they must hurry up and get their lies posted before they become meaningless against a barrage of truth.
It’s nothing but the Chicago-style politics that has prostituted every campaign they touch. The democrat party has perfected assassination of people and peoples’ characters.
Honest people everywhere will have the character to wait for a preponderance of the facts before reaching for the hangman’s rope.

I hope you realize that anyone can file a lawsuit against anyone else, and the motives may not be entirely pure. I realize that for some reason you have been criticizing Lowry and if you have a beef against him, I respect your opinion whether or not I disagree. However, in this instance I believe that until the facts of this case are substantiated, I would not jump to conclusions. This lawsuit may or may not be politically motivated, as Lowry’s press release states. I would have to give Mr. Lowry the benefit of the doubt unless and until the plaintiff wins his case. I would especially be wary of these claims if, in fact, there have been no prior complaints against Mr. Lowry. As I stated above, you may have other reasons not to like this particular candidate, and they may be valid. However, the mere filing of this lawsuit does not present any evidence whatsoever that Mr. Lowry has in fact done any of the things alleged by the plaintiff. Both parties to this action deserve a fair hearing before a judgment is made.

we’ll find out soon enough if this is a bogus set of charges against Lowry or not, but news is news, and it’s gotta be reported by the blogs and the news media.
Lowry will get his day in court, but this is not the best time for him to be dealing with these kinds of accusations which could very well spell the end of his campaign
Well it doen’t suprise me in the least. Lowry has made a lot of misstatements that are off color. He and Lynch could not get their stories straight regarding that Haiti trip.
This is the big problem I have with DC Works endorsing the politics as usual guys that probably are promising Karen and her gang the moon.

Stephanie, take a look at the ACHA website that governs Lowry’s Health Care Facilities. He has over 30 violations against his company. That is not a “stellar” record by any use of an imagination…

The grassroots liberty movement has had it with candidates using negativity against one another. This is one of the politics as usual tactics we are screaming about. What suspicious timing for this lawsuit to be filed!
I also thought in America you were innocent until PROVEN guilty, oh yea we don’t operate that way anymore. I say lets see the facts to back up the allegations and surely someone else will come forward who also witnessed this. Bare in mind A FORMER EMPLOYEE, has filed the lawsuit.
As for DC Works For Us I am proud to say attend their meetings and at least they are action driven whether you agree with who they endorse or not. There is a lot of nasty remarks, sounds awfully familiar, ummm….

In our country one is innocent until proven guilty.I am saddened because for the first time in 20 years I was given a credible candidate to vote for against the very corrupt Dem machine.If these allegations are true why wait until now to bring them up?I heard Mr. Lowry speak on many occasions and he seemed very likable with good ideas.The republican party seems to like to play into the Dem hands which are exceedingly dirty and thus lose. Dems stick together and as a result we have real systemic corruption in government.
I worked at Sunny Hills in the nurses office for almost 2 years and can vouch for these type of allegations. Robert Lowry let Phil Raymond run wild with that facility. He was a very loud, rude and obnoxious man. I couldn’t begin to tell you what it was like trying to keep that place from getting in trouble with the state. I would be more than happy to testify on Dr. Bullard’s behalf on how things are run at Sunny Hills. And yes, I am a former employee and yes it was not a pleasant separation. That is only because I was there to take care of the residents and Phil Raymond was interested in what “boy toy” he could bring there to work next. Everyone should ask Phil what he tried on me when he took me to Miami for Robert’s wedding. Then to hear how he talked of current and past employees was just unbelievable. The way he would even talk to the former nurse’s was horrible. I always knew there were “shady” things going on with that company but I was just relieved to be out of there. Everyone in my life threatened me with my life if I EVER thought of going back there to work.
You know what, it’s true. Could I ever tell ya a story or two about him & his antics. GIves the gay population a bad representation that’s for sure. Arrogant, lies, & selfish. Makes deals to keep his bosses place filled. I hope it goes through & God will prevail for the best of the innocent residents & their families.

By the way, it is my understanding that Robert Lowry took responsibility about the target practice even though he wasn’t responsible.Anyway, for most grownups that whole DWS target nonsense is a tempest in a teapot.or as a wise man once stated long ago, ” You’re raping flies.”

Lowry did not take responsibility for the DWS shooting, I was there and know the whole truth. Just the fact that he let Dennis Lamb openly lie when he stated that some activist wrote the initials speaks volumns of Lowry’s character. Robert knows who wrote the initials, so do I and so do many that were there that night.
You may not think much of it because you are completely onboard with the campaign, but it is a big deal and he knows it.
He is a nice guy and means well, but politics is not for him.
And unfortunately Phil is going to be the stab in the back to him also. Robert has known about his antics for years locally & in their Sebring, Fl office but took the option of hiding his head in the sand, having the wool pulled over his eyes & believing a liar. Not my type of new politician we are after.
I worked in the Sebring, FL facility. I was even told by Lowry after I went into the nurses office that I saved his a** by cleaning it up. Robert is well aware of Phil’s behavior. But, he refuses to do anything about it because Phil kept his facilities full. Hell, he even bought the house on the lake Phil has in Lake Placid. Trust me, there are MANY things that Phil has discussed with me during my employment there that would shock everyone.

with no baggage to drag her down. I fully support her and have
convinced many others to go for Karen. She is not part of any suspect
group and has been in Broward since a very young child. She is owner
of a successful retaurant(Rickey’s in Silver Lakes). She, her parents
and 4 siblings are all heavily involved is the Rickey’s reataurants in Hollywood (where her Father
Mitch started the first one) and the two in Pmebropke Pines. She is a mother
and grandmother who wants to see that her offspring have the same
opportunities to succeed with hindrance from runaway government.

All are presumed innocent till proven guilty. However, evidence speaks for itself on this matter. You lay down w/dogs & you are going to come up w/fleas. You do not want to surround yourself w/unprofessional, obnoxious people if you expect to represent your fellow man. Especially now w/the way our country is heading economically as well as politically. Shame on Mr Lowry for not being an astute and forth wright individual. Shame on him for continuing an association with someone who deserves the lawsuit against him and then some. God does have a way of correcting all matters if we leave it in His hands.

By now we are all well accustomed to the dirty political games people play. Mr. Lowry, is the candidate most qualified to hold a Congressional seat. That makes him the biggest threat. I believe this is just another attempt to neutralize a strong adversary. Is he perfect? No one on this earth is perfect.
I first heard of Mr. Lowry in April 2009. I joined his campaign more than a year later, after listening to the candidates debate, attending numerous meetings of the Broward Republican Party, paying attention to who attended and who they interacted with and what their qualifications were. Mr. Lowry won hands down.
Except for the gun range incident I have not heard any negative campaigning. I have worked at his headquarters for many hours and never heard any negative or ugly comments about any opponent. Everyone I have met there is of outstanding character.
Finally, I would like to remind others of the baseless accusations, lawsuits, and ethics charges that were made against Sarah Palin. They were quietly dropped following the campaign.
This lawsuit is NOT a baseless accusation towards Mr Lowry & his employee, boyfriend Phil Raymond. I know both these men & will not be involved in their politics nor business. Mean nasty behind the back work all for the money they can acquire from clients. One even gives out kick backs. Nice, huh? No lies on this, just the facts & truths.
