Karen Harrington Pounces on DWS Over Obamacare Statement

by Javier Manjarres

Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz finds herself in yet another storm of controversy, as she recently made some Alan Grayson-esque comments at a recent press conference concerning Obamacare.  Karen Harrington, the current GOP frontrunner in the race to unseat Congresswoman Wasserman-Schultz, released the following well versed and snippy statement regarding the Congresswoman’s recent comment about Republicans and repealing Obamacare.

Harrington Press Release:

Having Lost the National Debate And The Public’s Support on ObamaCare, Wasserman-Schultz Has Nothing to Offer But Smears

Pembroke Pines, FL – As an unapologetic shill for ObamaCare, Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz routinely took to the airwaves to spin budget forecasts and mislead the American people about the true nature of the health care ‘reform’ that she was pushing through Congress.  But even after ObamaCare’s legislative cramdown through Congress, Wasserman-Schultz is continuing her tasteless propaganda campaign.

At a Wednesday press conference convened to tout the so-called benefits of ObamaCare, Wasserman-Schultz ludicrously made the assertion that “the Republican strategy of repeal is a death sentence for countless numbers of Americans,” a mean-spirited and deceitful partisan political remark that takes its cue from disgraced Congressman Alan Grayson, who earlier this year accused Republicans of “wanting you to die quickly.”  Wasserman-Schultz’s remark not only distorts the truth about ObamaCare, it is a smear directed towards the clear majority of people in this country who support the repeal of ObamaCare and who oppose greater government interference in the health care system.

“As a two-time cancer survivor and the mother of a cancer survivor, I believe that Congresswoman Wasserman-Schultz is not only making slanderous and baseless political attacks against those who support the repeal of ObamaCare, which is the clear majority of the Americans people and growing, she is clearly intent on presiding over the dismantlement of the very health care system that most certainly saved both of our lives and my son’s life,” said Karen Harrington the Republican Congressional candidate in Florida’s 20th District.   “Debbie Wasserman-Schultz does not have unquestionable moral authority on the issue of health care reform.  Her comment at Wednesday’s press conference was nothing more than a partisan smear job that proves she is only interested in pushing her baseless talking points, not an honest discussion of ObamaCare’s true impact on the health care system,” said Harrington.

“What Debbie conveniently ignores is the fact that ObamaCare is already having disastrous effects on our health insurance system.  As it stands, health insurance companies don’t know whether the health plans they currently offer will be legal under ObamaCare, nor can they tell if they will be able to market their existing plans to new customers in the future.  Some health insurance companies are responding to ObamaCare by letting go of employees and selling assets to keep their plans solvent, but the writing is on the wall.  It’s becoming apparent that millions Americans will lose their private health plans- in spite of Debbie’s promises- because many private insurers will soon be out of business. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz promised that health insurance would become more affordable and accessible, but the opposite is true. November is coming, and the American people’s verdict will be clear-they do not want ObamaCare, they do not want slanderous partisan attacks, and they do not want Debbie Wasserman-Schultz in Congress.”
