Yesterday, Gubernatorial candidate Rick Scott told the Shark Tank that he would forgo his Governor’s salary if elected Governor of Florida. Will Bill McCollum and Alex Sink do the same? Scott is running on a less government/lower taxes platform, so this is first budget cut- $133,000 taxpayer dollars saved. Scott also weighs in on being the de-facto head of the state GOP if he were elected Governor.
Sounds great to forego a salary. Durng Depression FDR and Congress all took pay cuts…and they were Democrats…
Everyday it becomes more and more obvious that Rick is the man to get Florida up and running LIKE IT SHOULD BE. His sound financial platform and common sense ideas are exactly what Florida, and the Nation, needs. Mandatory drug testing for welfare receiptients, lower taxes for businesses, safer communities and smaller state government are proposals we can ALL agree on, and with this now it just goes to prove once again that Rick Scott may not need to be Governor of Florida, BUT WE SURE NEED HIM!!! GO RICK!!!!
Rick Scott is fortunate he can forgo his salary if elected,it’s a great idea . I’m sure there are many, many more politicians who could do the same but don’t. Now, if McCollum would stop the negative campaigning we might get some genuine campaigning to base our vote on.
Thanks Rick….steal millions of taxpayer’s money in Medicare fraud and then forego $140,000 taxpayer dollars in yearly salary. What a guy!!!!
Scott can afford to forgo salary –he can also afford to ignore the lobbyists who dictate to professional politicians like McCollum. Just what we need now in financial crisis –a successful executive for the governorship which is an executive position, after all. What good is a career pol at a time like this? I just read Scott’s 7 Step plan for the State (it would be a good plan for the FedGov, too). Where is McCollum’s plan? I guess the lobbyists haven’t drawn it up yet.
