In Miami-Dade County you are destroyed if you run against an Anglo.
The Good Old Boys do not want to be removed. This judge is reacting to the reality that whomever is on majority works hard to not allow minorities to get elected, in this case be on the bench.
El-Sharko, please run some numbers as to who is on the bench and their ethnicity. So you are aware, Bar Polls are about popularity.
I don’t see how Carlos Rebollo can treat everyone the same that come before him in court when he doesn’t believe everyone should be treated the same in an election. And not only that, but this goes to the core of his judgment and having good judgment should be a prerequisite of being a judge. He showed very poor judgment making that statement in public and he shows worse judgment for believing what he said. What would have happened if Obama had said in the last presidential election that it would be immoral for a white person to run against him? I know exactly what would have happened. Everyone would have thought he had lost his mind and he would have lost the election. I think Carlos Rebollo is clearly in his own little world and that is not where we are going to find a fair and balanced judge.
