Charlie Crist- “You’re Almost Like a Traitor to Them”(VIDEO)

Governor Charlie Crist attended the opening of this Fort Lauderdale Senatorial Campaign office today where he was greeted by 60+ supporters from both the Democrat and Republican parties. In attendance was Broward Sheriff Al Lamberti, Parkland Mayor Michael Udine, Representive Ari Porth (D) a couple of Broward Republican Executive Commitee(BREC) members, as well as several  local business owners like the owner of Wings Plus in Coral Springs, Florida. The Governor’s speech was short and to the point. The Governor asked for everyone to get involved in his campaign by taking bumperstickers and yard signs- Crist has long said that each bumpersticker represents 7 votes. Crist is currently trailing Republican Marco Rubio by 10 points in the most recent Rasmussen public opinion poll.

Crist made his case for being the Governor ‘of the people’ and not having to answer to any party by remarking that the two other candidates in the race are “strapped by their party”. He also used the analogy of stepping over the party line by saying, “ I’ve stepped over it..it’s like jumping out of an airplane without a parachute”.

I wonder who he thinks Obama is president of. In fact I wonder who Obama thinks he is, president of Kenya I assume.

  2. Jerry says:

Crist left the Republican party because he was getting his butt kicked by Rubio! Crist is such a liar!

  3. Broward County Republican Voters says:

What ticked me off the most was (R) Sheriff Al Lamberti Showing support for Crist who is fighting against a Republican in Marco Rubio. Us Republicans supported Al and this is what we get in return? Cant wait till next ellection!!!

  4. swampsniper says:

He is a traitor, no doubt about it!

  5. GenEarly says:

Dictionary says a Traitor is a person who betrays a trust, duty, friend, etc. Crist vowed on national TV to remain in the Republican party and let the VOTERS decide the best candidate in the primary. How do you spin that? Only a Dimicrat or a Narcissist could do that, neither make sense to support.

  6. Professional politicians are, by definition, not loyal to any party because their own election is Job #1. Some recent examples of Repubs, to name a few just in the Senate, besides Crist are Specter, Chafffee, Jeffords, Hagel, Voinovich and others could be named. The most recent is McCollum here in Florida -he won’t endorse his opponent who the majority of us Repubs voted for. It it was possible, he’d surely go Dem or Ind to try to get elected. Damn the Party and any previous stands on issues when it comes to the career! That is why we so need term limits on congress to put the incentive “to serve the public” back in the equation.

So, Broward Republican Executive Committee members endorsing the guy running against the Republican.

I thought Precinct Committemen and EC members were all required to take a loyalty oath: support the Republican candidate, or resign? Anybody in Broward gonna raise that issue at the next EC meeting?

  8. Sandi Trusso says:

Poor Charlie! He wants Floridians to believe that “the people” are all he cares about. WE DON’T!

He never had any principles which ever included “the people”. He’s interested in principles which involve “what’s best for Charlie’s political career”.

It’s hard to believe that anyone would consider voting for him, because they have to realize by this point that no one can trust anything he tells us. He’s flipped on nearly every principle he’s ever claimed to have. He’s betrayed the people in the past, the present, and will in the future!

  9. CindyinTallahassee says:

Crist knows he will have to pick a party in Washington to be effective at all. As long as he calls himself an “Independent” he will not be able to active on any committees, etc.
