This morning, Democrat Gubernatorial Candidate Alex Sink held a GOTV rally with Congressmen Ron Klein and Ted Deutsch at Palm Beach State College in Lake Worth, Florida. During Mrs. Sink’s remarks, she emphasized that integrity needed to be a focal point when deciding on whom to vote for on November 2nd. Integrity is an important aspect of the decisionmaking progress, but could these words be seen as hypocritical in light of her recent Gubernatorial debate cheating scandal? As it has well been documented, Alex Sink was caught cheating- red handed- during the debate by reading a text message that was directly sent to her, and to make matters far worse, she later lied about later was caught lying about who had actually sent her the text in question.
Just last night, MSNBC’s Hardball host, Chris Mathews stated that Mrs. Sink, who was on his show the night before, was not completely honest with him.
“We’ve got the facts on Florida’s Democratic candidate – finally. I didn’t get them last night from the Democratic candidate Alex Sink but we got them, thanks to one of our colleague networks out there. We’re going to show you what we have, now that we’ve boosted the sound of what was really said during that debate. The video very clearly shows something different than what that candidate told me last night.”-Chris Matthews
During the press gaggle afterwards, Sink was questioned about the controversial ‘Taj Mahal’ courthouse in Tallahassee, Florida.
The auditorium where the rally was held was filled with about 300 or so enthusiastic supporters, about 140 of them were from the local Firefighters union. I spoke to several of the yellow shirt wearing firefighters, both Republican and Democrat, and asked them what they thought of the race. Two firefighters, both Democrats, told me that Sink was the best choice in the race. However, after I explained to them that Alex Sink was supportive of President Obama’s Stimulus bill and ‘Obamacare’, they both took pause and said, “that changes alot.” Both men were disgusted with the Obama administration and were not informed of Alex Sink’s positions and support of the President.
Another firefighter, again wearing the yellow union shirt, told me that he had voted for Scott, but had to tow the union line at the event.

Nice try…I notice in this article there are no names or pictures of these 3 supposed firefighters you talked to. I like how you state you “had to explain” this to these firefighters and how one voted for Rick Scott and “had to tow the line”. Lies lies lies…Newsflash!!! Rick Scott is running against conservative democrat and non-crook Alex Sink. Rick Scott is the biggest crook to run for political office and he is behind in the polls because all he can do is liken Alex Sink to Obama. Firefighters are some of the most educated individuals when it comes to politics and have endorsed many Republicans such as Jeb Bush for govenor in the past and others. I am a registered Republican and a proud union firefighter who is voting for Alex Sink. I cannot stand that such crooks like Scott have been elected by Republicans in the primary. 1.7 billion in fines, pleading the fifth 75 times, 14 felony counts…running for govenor REALLY????
@ David-
You must be joking. “Conservative” Democrat Alex Sink? You mean “Stimulus”-Supporting and ObamaCare Supporting Alex Sink? That “conservative” Democrat??? There are Democrats who have actually voted against those policies across the country- she wasn’t one of them.
And FYI- do firefighters all believe that you must be a “crook”- even if you’ve never been questioned or deposed about a particular matter? It seems you have a different standard of criminality than anyone else.
If you indeed are a “Registered Republican”, voting for Sink, you’re not really into the principles that separate us from the destructive policies of the Democrats.
I agree with you that Firefighters are very educated voters. You’re just not one of them.
Steven….
Isn’t there enough corrupt Republicans already tarnishing our party? Why do you think the RPOF backed Bill McCullum so hard, then ONLY, because Rick Scott won the primary did the RPOF begrudingly endorse Rick Scott. Take the blinders off my friend, 1.7 billion in medicare fines, pleading the 5th 75times,14 felony counts, a 310 million dollar golden parachute??? Indepent minded Republicans like myself WILL NOT support crooks just because they are Republicans! Where does it end? If Bernie Madoff beat the rap in an appeal and was running for govenor would we be supporting him against Alex Sink? As I said, the IAFF is backing Adam Putnam this year a very principled young Republican and we have backed Jeb Bush in the past. Think for yourself and stop the electing of crooks in the RPOF?
