RPOF Chairman’s Election (POLL)

December 17, 2010

by Javier Manjarres

With less than a month to go until the Republican Party of Florida selects its new Chairman, GOP die-hards around the state are beginning to line up behind each of the  five candidates in the race, and in some instances, supporters hedging their bets with their rumored support of more than one candidate.  Several informal polls have been taken to gauge which candidate has the best chance of replacing interim Chairman John Thrasher and turn the party around from what disgraced ex-party boss Jim ‘Bozo’ Greer left in his wake.   Last week, we acknowledged that the winner of the ‘Best Chef of the Quarterly RPOF Meeting’ award was Palm Beach County Chairman Sid Dinerstein for his smorgasbord of hamburger sliders, pizza and mini hot dogs he offered at his candidate reception during the final RPOF Quarterly meeting of the year. Hat tip to Bitner and Gruters for their ’low fat’ dessert efforts ;)    But will Sid’s eats have any sway in the election?   (POLL)

Missed Sids sliders, but Joe’s low cal dessert was a winner in my heart.

  3. Babbs Howland says:

Don’t know about the food, it is time for a fresh face at the RPOF, & that would be Joe Gruters.

  4. Paul Cajka says:

The RPOF has to emphasize people and the grassroots. My experience tells me that Joe Gruters is the GOP leader that is leading on the right path to victory in 2012.

  5. Elizabeth Cuevas-Neunder says:

Merry Christmas and a wonderful year 2011 (Feliz Navidad)! My insolvent in politics in Florida has been for 20 years, and before I was a young (21) conservative in Buffalo New York for our beloved Ronal Reagan.

The best people are those who become involved at early age. Today I am asking you to consider the background of Chairman Joseph (Joe) Gruters. He started his involvement at the tender age of 15. I know this because he was one of my 20 Teenage Republicans for President Bush Senior & Dan Quale and Jeb Bush.

Since then he was the youngest candidate to run for the Florida House and his involvement has not cease. In my 20 years serving to our party in Sarasota and very involved at National and state level, I have seeing the erosion of our Florida Party.

We need a State Chairman who can lead our party with God in his mind, protect our Country for us to have and work for our Families that is the fiber of our great America.

My hope and my advice to Joe is to maintain himself grounded to the floor so he can serve for the good of the people. I am not only his mentor who believe on him, but also one who will point out when he needs a strong mothers advice, with no fear to point out his weakness. He has been very opened minded and has valued advices even when he has disagreed. Now “Let get to work”

  6. Tad MacKie says:

I don’t know about his culinary abilities but I worked with Joe at the SRQ REC. He’s been an honest, straight-up, conservative chairman who turned a divided and broken Sarasota group into a cohesive, vote-chasing, money-raising, candidate-promoting machine second to none in the state.

I have nothing negative to say about the other candidates… But… If the other candidates are good, in my opinion, Joe’s great.

Do we want good or do we want great? Do we want establishment republican or do we want to get back to the core values that made the GOP great in the first place? Do we want RPOF leadership that, like the etablishment Republicans, seems to think that the Tea Party Movement is a passing fad or do we want someone who understands that it’s the Establishment GOP that CREATED the backlash that is the Tea Party Movement and understands the need to PAY ATTENTION to it.

The GOP needs rebuilding. RPOF needs Joe Gruters…

    Let’s get to work

  7. Reality Check says:

My best advice to RPOF members: Look into your future. You need the best criminal defense attorney out there. Go with Bradford M. Cohen.

  8. Dan says:

I have worked with a few of the candidates and must say that Hillsboro REC Madam Chair and present RPOF Vice Chair Debra Cox Roush is a dedicated LEADER and one who immediately embraced the TEA party movement creating the LARGEST REC in the state of Florida. She has worked to bring this party together and wholey supported conservative candidates and members.
I also know Tony from my own REC in Pinellas County and I embrace 2012 seeking a replacement State Committeeman for our county. As one of Greer’s minions removing conservatives and specifically attacking TEA party members on trumped up nonsensical charges for Charlie’s favor. BeWare of his agenda, it’s self serving.

  9. david gustafson says:

I have known Joe for about 18 years. He has integrity and the intelligence to lead the party in Florida. He has done an excellent job in Sarasota and my friends and family totally support him for the state position.

  10. Y. Mercedes says:

That skills of being a State Chairman who can lead our party with God in his mind, protect our Country for us to have and work for our Families that is the fiber of our great American is found on the Palm Beach County Chairman Sid Dinerstein .

  11. Yolanda Mercedes says:

Palm Beach County Chairman Sid Dinerstein is:

The candidate with the clearest message

The candidate who articulated the clearer vision

The sunnier candidate with the more optimistic message

The candidate whose message is best aligned with constituent concerns

    The more charismatic candidate

The candidate who appeared most comfortable in his skin

The candidate who uses the most plain-spoken language

  12. Rich Angley says:

Go Joe, Joe Gruters is a great guy who knows how to get the job done. I don’t personally know any of the other guys but I do know that Joe did a great job in the Sarasota REC. I can say that if he could do for the State of Florida what he did in Sarasota we will crush the democrats is every race.
    GO Joe
    Rich Angley

  13. Charlotte Beasley says:

I don’t personally know Joe Gruters , but I do know Sid Dinerstein whom I have known now for about 12 years since I moved to Florida. Sid is one of the most dedicated Republicans I have ever met I am a REC committewoman on Sid’s team. . He has been our REC Chairman for 8 years and was recently re-elected Chairman once again. He is energetic, trustworthy and brings a new hope for Republicans to win in 2012.

He is a true friend, excellent leader and a true Conservative. He would serve the Party well as RPOF Chairman for sure.

  14. Certainly one of our employees, who’s diabetic, had a heart attack and is getting released today. My supervisor wants to send a fruit basket. I don’t know if that is ok for a diabetic.
What gift can we send if the fruit basket is not feasible?
