  3. Ana Gomez-Mallada says:

The form of address probably differs depending on whether you supported him before Charlie bolted or, by default, afterwards.

  4. John Reynolds says:

Javier Manjarres caustic ending comments turned me off. I thought it was inappropriate.

  5. John Roane says:

    That is easy: El Jefe.

  6. GenEarly says:

“On a personal note, I am still wondering what the proper protocol and form of address is for being in the presence of our newly minted Senator. Do we need to kneel before him, kiss his ring, bow our heads- or perhaps all of the above- if we are to be admitted into his kingly court?”

This sounds pretty snarkey to me. I would shake his hand and say thank you Sir for running and giving us a far better choice than Charlie Crist!
Marco came to Pinellas County early on in the campaign and spoke to small crowds and touched our hearts. that there just might be someone to represent us for a change, and the RINO Establishment brayed just like a Dimicrat Donkey. Javier reminds me of those snarkey RINOs.

  7. Miriam says:

It is so obvious that Javier Mijarres sentiments towards Senator Marco Rubio is one of the kind. I will call that ENVY IN FULL COLORS!!!!

  8. catb says:

Wow .. what’s the matter there Javier .. that time of the month?

  9. Jason says:

LOL…c’mon people, ya gotta lighten up! It sounds like he’s gving “El Conquistador” a good ribbing! Jealousy and envy it aint!!!!

  10. Senator Marco Rubio & Constituents:

Listening to Senator Rubio speak, I am reminded of the fact that it was the country
of Cuba which was taken away from so many. Only the fortunate are here in
    America.

Senator Rubio is one of the fortunate and has done his heritage proud and will continue to do so for our great country.

We the people of this country must be mindful of what is taking place from our Southern Border all the way South into South America. It is the likes of
Senator Marco Rubio, who has the Latin Knowedge Base, that can address diverse
challenging issues which now face our country. Rest assured these are extremelly
    critical issues.

Thank you for your thoughtful consideration and time.

    Respectfully,

    Captain Albert T Emmons

  11. Mike says:

This is hilarious! If you all knew how close Javier was/is to Marco, you would all understand that he is probably just razzing Marco.

  12. Richard says:

It appears on paper that those thoughts by Mr.Javier appear to be that he resents Marco Rubio to be kind.Surely, if one had good/honest intentions they would simply ask those around them…Does not appear to be a friendly comment in print to me.

  13. Bruce McConnell says:

The last sentence was a stupid comment. Too bad whatever liberal you wanted to win didn’t. Get over it, we are taking the country back.

  14. Lightweight says:

Rubio got it wrong when he said America ain’t a Language (It is.English).It ain’t a Religion (It is.Founded by Christian Protestants, who acknowledged Freedom to all men come from God). All Countries in the World and in the history of the World is founded on a Religion. In order to overthrow any country you have to crush it’s reliligion. America is based on the Constitution which is based on the Old Testament Rule of Law. I wonder if Senator Rubio has read his US Constitution, or rather, his and others experience ? The Law based on the US Constitution is a higher and more better standard of assurance of Freedom for all men.
We have and will see the error of Marco Rubio’s sentiment echoed real soon.He speaks code to his audience.

  15. Nemrod Saldanas says:

If the world is what it is today, it is do it to what the fouding phather craet in USA.

Read the “ley de prestamo y arriendo” by the congress of the USA.

Marco seems not to be wrong.

  16. Javier Manjarres says:

You all need to relax. Notice the happy face at the end of the last sentence. Maybe I should have stated ‘LOL’ or something like that, so that you all can see that it was a joke. I asked his wife on this same day that very question, and we both busted out in laughter.. It is a joke, relax.

  17. [...] Via the Shark Tank: Senator-elect Marco Rubio made his first speech to the Cuba Democracy PAC since his election to the Senate last month. Rubio spoke at the group’s annual luncheon held at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, Florida, and he let the audience in on what he had learned about Cuban sentiment around the state and across country as he campaigned for Senate. More here. [...]

  18. Alex says:

@Lightweight: if you understand what Marco was saying, you would know he is right. America was not founded on religion but faith. Christianity is not a religion, but a faith, and one that includes many different factions. For example, Methodists, Presbyterians, Baptists, Pentecostals, and even Catholics are classified as “Christian” religions, but they are all varying religions within the same Faith, even though they may not be “Christian” in principle. Once again, all Marco was saying is that America was founded on principle and faith, not factions of faith. That is why the founding fathers acknowledged the freedom from GOD. Now as concerning your other statement, America isn’t a language, that is not what were founded for, but people who migrate here do need to learn English simply because that is the way of the people here.

  19. Elaine Seavey says:

Llightweigh, your name says it all….WHO is worrying about his hair (which looks fine to me!) when such HUGE issues constitute his speech?

Commentator, you are ‘way out in left field! I agree completely with both Alex and Capt Albert Emmons, who obviously are THINKERS!!!!

I live in Marco’s constituency, was and am an ARDENT supporter from Day One, worked on the last GOP Presidential campaign in Florida and got to know the Congressman Tom Rooney also campaigning from our office, AND now Marco Rubio for Senator. You could NOT FIND ANY MEN BETTER THAN THESE TWO GREAT PATRIOTS WHO LOVE OUR CONSTITUTION, OUR NATION, AND OUR PEOPLE!!!! THEY ARE IN D.C. FOR THE FIGHT OF THEIR LIVES….ON OUR BEHALF, FIGHTING GALLOPING SOCIALISM FROM THE RADICAL LEFT. We should be thanking God each day for them, praying for their strength, faithfulness, protection, and families, which hold our precious next generation…..as they pass along to them the precious heritage our forefathers left us and they protect!!!

Wake up and forget the petty “stuff,” and conceentrate on the VERY SURVIVAL OF OUR REPUBLIC, as we face George Soros and the One World Govt. people trying to force us so far to the Left that they then take over. READ, friends, PLEASE READ, READ, READ!!! AND WATCH FOX.

  20. Rose says:

I have known Marco and his family a very long time. He is an upstanding honest young man of principle. However, the topic at hand in my opinion is Cuba, not Marco. I am the daughter of cuban exiles. My parents came to this country over 40 years ago. They worked hard and built a life for their family. However, if you live in Miami, you know that many of the cubans that arrive now come here to milk the system, they are not the same cubans from our parent’s generation. I vote to repeal the wetfoot/dryfoot law. Cubans should be treated just like any other person wanting to immigrate to this country. They should not automatically be given access to medical care, low income housing and food stamps. Many people born here who have worked here their entire lives are not eligible for the kind of benefits that newly arrived cubans are given. Marco, trust me, if you really listen to the people, you’d be surprised how many feel the same way I do. It is time to take back our country, not only from the politicians that do not have our best interests at heart, but from the immigrants that come her and and do not want to work to build a better life, but want everything handed to them. We can no longer afford to maintain these people.

  21. Al says:

Well y’all, now you know – its Senator Rubio and congrats to the Senator. About a year before the senatorial campaign, I called the washington office on a matter and made a comment to the effect that I was beginning to wonder about our Gov Crist – to which she said that I wasn’t the only one to make that remark. So for those who only supported Marco Rubio after the Crist defection, you better check your bearings. Maybe read the constitution etc.
