The American Conservative Union (ACU) recently named former RPOF Chairman Al Cardenas as its new chairman. I caught up with Chairman Cardenas at CPAC, which just happens to be sponsored by the ACU. Early on in the 2010 Florida U.S. Senate race, Cardenas attempted persuade then candidate Marco Rubio to run for the state’s Attorney General position and let former Governor Charlie Crist run unopposed against Congressman Kendrick Meek. This fact was “inside baseball” until Cardenas publicly endorsed Governor Crist- my well-honed fin was in the thick of the murky backroom dealings in 2010 Senatorial waters
Chairman Cardenas also addressed the controversy surrounding one of it’s board members, Sukhail Khan, and he even acknowledged the efforts of yours truly, El Sharko, for being awarded the 2011 CPAC Blogger of the Year award- Good Luck Chairman Cardenas!
The best speech at CPAC this year: http://mittromneycentral.com/2011/02/11/mitts-cpac-speech-believe-in-america-is-this-a-prelude-to-his-2012-campaign-theme/
Congratulations to Al on the elections to his new position.
I would like to see a Mike Huckabee, VP Sara Palin ticket
or Sara Palin, VP Mike Huckabee ticket that could have been
throw out to see what kind of vote that would have garnered!

How could ACU elect someone who supported Crist as opposed to Rubio as chairman? This question how conservative he is? I have know Cardenas since the REagan days and he was never a conservative.
