Granted Obama’s energy policy leaves a lot to be desired. But the President of the Florida Senate has no power to affect that. He DOES however, have the power to support a bill that changes the date of Florida’s Presidential Primary to comply with the rules the RNC has set down and avoid a costly and embarrassing slap-down of Florida by the RNC.
How much “clout” do we have if we lose half our delegates?
How much “clout” do we have if they penalize us by taking the RNC convention away from Tampa altogether? Does the President of the Senate want to explain to the businesspeople of Tampa why they lost that huge moneymaker?
Still a Hasner fan, but at least this guy seems to have the right priorities in mind, and isn’t afraid to call out Obama on this energy nonsense. It’s really just insane how Obama refuses to let us use Florida’s own resources to become energy independent.
Great stuff. Keep taking on Obama on energy, the budget, Obamacare and anything else, Mike!
Haridopolos is a younger version of Charlie Crist. If Crist is your kind of republican then Haridopolos is your man.
Mike and his so called conservative colleges in the Florida senate fought Rubio on real property tax reform every step of the way. If it wasn’t for them the Florida real estate depression wouldn’t be this bad and unemployment would be as high.
I’ll stick with Adam Hasner.
Why any Governor would follow Obama’s no drill order is beyoun my understanding. The Governor’s are the CEO’s of the state. The Governors should contact the drilling companies and give a state permit to safely drill for oil and natural gas. What is Obama going to do? Send the Army and Navyto stop the the drilling? Not likely. Or would Obama send someone to dstroy the oil drilling reg? Is that more likely? Just asking>
RINO Progressives are about 40 to 60% of the Republican Party. Select carefully in the Primaries, avoid the Media-Selected Darlings.
My 1st Choice is Allen West a No BS Straight Shooter. Exactly what is needed in the US Senate.
Why does the country with the highest reserves in the world of fossil fuels need ever consider the myth of energy independence. The USA is the Saudi Arabia of coal, and with the discovery of the Bakken oil field who knows how much oil is there, or how much oil can be extracted with advances in oil drilling technology…
Why do we let this myth get propagated.
Doesn’t anybody read? From my lowly little blog is this post

You do know that coal can be turned into diesel and gasoline for about $30 a barrel oil equivalent? You did read the 2009 study and pilot plant results put out by the University of Texas fo Canada? What do you think the ChiComs are doing right now?

Agreed!!!
Thanks to Haridopolos for calling out the President for committing $2 billion to help fund Gerorge Soros’s Petrobras’ oil drilling endeavor off the Brazilian coast. President Obama has sent the message that he would rather subsidize his friends and foreign nations than the United States. We commend Haridopolos for calling attention to the fact that the only way the United States is to move towards energy self-reliance is to lessen its dependence on the Middle East for oil.
Floridians need Senator Haridopolos, as his top priority, to balance the budget during the current Legislative session in Tallahassee. Most Floridians agree that the best way to do this is to eliminate the $5.5 billion dollars that the Senate and Congress are forcing taxpayers to pay to subsidize industries in Florida that support illegal aliens.
Senator Haridopolos’s penchant to show leg for his Koch money, is only matched by a ability to drum up press releases disguised as supporters like “Judi Hood”.
Wowzers! “we commend Haridopolos…etc” Do “we”, “Judi”? Really?
Yes, it is true. Haridopolos would rather destroy tourism by drilling in the Florida nearshore than permit one dime to flow to Brazil: currently on well-friendly terms with the United States of America. In the interim, Brazil better than OPEC any day of the week.
Yes, does Soros own Petrobras stock? I would imagine so. Does he have one f&^% tick to do with this subject other than that? Of course not. Mikey is enjoying the sleaze grease of the Koch cartel. He has become another of their mindless auto-bots. I would wager they even pay for his hair frosting and teeth bleaching.
