Allen West Draws Line in the Sand Against Liberal Attacks

In his first weekly update to his constituents in Congressional District 22 following a malicious mailing to his Boca Raton congressional office containing a non-toxic white powder substance, Congressman Allen West was in no mood for mincing words. Even before the incident, it’s no secret that West has been the target of the Democrat apparatus in both Washington D.C. and here in South Florida. During last year’s election cyle, West sustained continuous personal attacks, including the public disclosure of his Social Security number by the Democrat Party in an opposition mailer, all which were deflected by his ‘teflon-like’ demeanor and response to these such attack
West was personally attacked by Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz during the 2010 campaign, who ridiculously stated that West, “he wears his extreme disrespect as a badge of honor, he thinks its ok to objectify and denigrate women“, (VIDEO) a clear signal that she feels West is a detriment to women. In addition, Wasserman-Schultz and other Democrats attempted to marginalize West and the ‘Tea Party as dangerous extremist boogeymen that was out to get you- as clear an attempt at character assassination as you will find, but that attempt failed miserably, as election results soon proved.
But considering his history of not backing down from a challenge, I suspect that Congressman West is up to that challenge and will rebuke any and all personal attacks, be it in a form reaction, or if needed, taking a preemptive position.

West said that the mainstream media lacks journalistic integrity for not reporting or intentionally underreporting these events, noting that the coverage would be far different if a Democrat were involved. Congressman West may be absolutely right when he questions whether things would have gone, or will go differently in the future, were he not a “principled black conservative”, as opposed to being a unprincipled black liberal.
“I find it interesting that in all of these instances, the media simply dismissed the incidents. One might wonder – is it open season on a principled black conservative? I wonder what the reaction would have been if I were a Democrat?
Let me be very clear to all reading this missive, but mostly to liberals who subscribe to this behavior, be careful of whom you are choosing to employ these tactics against. I consider myself an easy-going fella who will always engage in intense intellectual exchange. However, if you choose this path of personal attacks, intimidation, and threats you will encounter a very different Congressman (LTC. Ret) Allen B. West.” – Rep. Allen West

“With that being said, I am sure you can understand that I was greatly disturbed on Friday when someone mailed an envelope of a white powdered substance to one of our offices in Boca Raton. The substance tested negative, and our staffer is fine… however, the derogatory remarks and threats contained in the letter are not conducive to having a civil political discourse.
This incident, is just another in several incidents that have occurred over the last couple of years and, have put me in quite a bad mood. Going back to last year, I have had to endure a Ft Lauderdale liberal blogger publicly stating that he wanted to “skin me alive,” a Florida Member of Congress organizing a protest outside of our office castigating me as a “misogynist,”, that was the same person who is slated to become the Chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee. Also, my private information was openly published by the Florida Democratic party and my opponent.
If this is how liberal progressives deem themselves “civil” then the ideological divide which exists in America is not based upon intellectual debate, but rather on the insidious tactics of intimidation.

I love Allen West. A very principled man who will be great – later on, as a Senator or President.
Well I see it is politics as normal. Let me say this about the people who are attacking LTC, Allen West. If they knew anything at all about the Army, or anything else as a matter a fact, they could not say that. It is strange how they project to know so much and know so little. I served 25 years in the Military and know about what it takes to be loyal to your soldiers. One is that everyone one is Green and treated the same. If they were not as dumb as a post they would understand this. It takes more to be a commander in the United States Army than a degree and a big mouth with I am sure these badgering people have. It isn’t about Allen West at all. It is about one party out and the other one in. Politics in this country has dropped to the level of not caring about the country at all, only the political party. Wouldn’t it be a shame if in combat you would only back up a democrat or republican, black or white, yellow or green, man or women. However, in our political world they don’t even care that much. Only will my party win. Both parties have people in DC who have been there a very long time. They are part of the problem and not the solution. Why? because they care about the party more than the Military, Seniors or cancer patiences. When I listened to these people give their speeches, it was as clear as crystal that the only agenda they have is one subject, “WOMEN”. Now you talk about being prejudice, this is the ultimate. I did not hear one thing about our Country and the directions it is going. I did not hear one thing about how how women in the military progressed over the years. Well one clue!!!! LTC Allen West, USA, Retired was part of that. I would like to see the news media stick to their job and that is reporting and not giving their personnel opinion, or lean toward only the news that fist their own personnel agenda. As I see it most politicians would run out from under the dining room table and bite their own kin to get into or back into office. If you want to do something for this country work on making this country again one of the best nations on this globe and not the laughing stock of the world… LTC West, don’t let the simple minded people get to you…. they are trying to divert the cannons….
First let me say the tactics employed against Rep. West are inexcusable and reprehensible no matter who they are aimed at.
Next, I have been following Wests speeches for over a year now and as a Senior White Woman found nothing at all objectionable. The Congress woman must be either very thin skinned (doubtful in a politician) or she is a petty minded bigot!
West is everything we could have hoped to find and did not in Obama. I hope we will move up the ranks of DC and will support him every step of the way.
This is a man with true honor and Progressives (Like DWS) can not stand anyone who challenges their view of the world.

The challenge will be, how to be different in a meaningful way, how to hold the other accountable in an observable effective electorate-preferred way. I agree that such a need exists! The nation desperately needs leaders who return to civil debate, who honor moral rules of engagement in the public arena. Lt. Col. (Ret.), Congressman Allen West is one great man of integrity. He says EXACTLY what he means. Did you hear the compliment Dr. Lund paid him last night on Hannity? He said as 19 of the freshman class sat in the room together, that Congressman West “is the most serious of all the Congressmen” and Dr. Lund admitted he might get heat for saying it. Those freshmen Congressmen were fabulous. They stuck to their principles of cutting the budget – they were articulate, discerning, and to the point. I hope Congressman West considers running for President one day – the SOONER the better. If we could have the likes of the POTUS we have who had NO background save being a community organizer and a few months senator, we could have someone as great as Congressman West be our next POTUS! For those who say that he needs to be seasoned – he was in the military, in combat, and he knows the ropes.
Rep West shows much more class and integrity than most other members of Congress.
The only way the Dems can touch him is for the main stream media to ignore him. Continual Progressive attacks will strengthen his resolve and gain him more exposure which will be viewed very positively among everyday Americans.
The fanatical left continue to demonstrate to the American people how radical they are and how frightened they have become of the conservative core values espoused by most of us. Perhaps the Democrats thought that all blacks are liberal, but, are surprised that thousands of African-Americans share our conservative hopes and morals. With Debbie Wasserman-Shultz at the Democratic helm, now, we conservatives MUST support Col. West and all the other Republican politicians who work so hard to protect America and its people. Shult has already begun her attacks on West here in Florida. To his credit, Col West is fighting back.

Last night on Hannity Frank Luntz had a focus group of freshmen congressmen. While all of them jockeyed for air time speaking col Allen West just sat there quietly.
Luntz eventually addressed West personally to invite him to speak showing how he stands head and shoulders above his colleagues.
I am more and more impressed with this man every day.
Thank you, Congressman West, for standing on your God given principles. We desperately need more leadership like yours, not political wrangling. If only people would realize that returning to the Constitution and ethical morality is our best hope for the future. You’ve got my vote!

No doubt, I would vote for Allen West for senator or president, but right now the man is focused on doing his best in the office to which he was elected. Herman Cain is running for president. I urge everyone to take a serious look at Herman Cain. It should be no surprise that Mr. Cain has thus far been called a “monkey” and referred to as a side-show freak by the liberal media. Apparently the answer to Allen West’s question, “is it open season on principled black conservatives?” is an emphatic “yes”.

I think Thomas Ponder expressed it well in his comments. Truly the left is afraid of that which is good, right and principled. Some are intentionally out to destroy our great country and it’s founding principles and some are just ignorant, although they cannot be excused for this. Yes, there is a line in the sand… and I will stand with Congressman Allen West and all those who are willing to fight for the good citizens of this country. Hey Folks ! We have found a male with testicles in American politics: Rep Allen B. West. I know. I know. Bill Clinton tried to show he still had a set even while running and hiding from Hillary most of his adult life. Bill Clinton is no Allen West. Bill was a “dodger” and Allen was a heroic U.S. Army combat “grunt”. There you have it. The distinct difference between the wussy progressive left and the “new” conservative Republican as proudly represented by Col Allen West. It is a shame Congresswoman Schultz shows her nature against unborn innocents. There are a few instances where abortion should be allowed, such as the life of the mother is at risk, but it is not a birth control measure, it is murder. There are better ways to prevent pregnancy that is not murder. How many millions have to die before there is a better law, or the realization of what they are doing. For many women who have aborted a baby there is a psychological trauma that they have to live with what was done, and they don’t want to share their grief.
Liberals are simply liars. They have two ideas: socialism and slurs. The “news media” are simply Democrat propaganda organs, and will ignore the lies liberals use routinely. The hypocrisy is plain for all to see. So stop watching Sports Center, put down your beer, and start paying attention to how liberalism is destroying the US.

The group of freshmen that Dr. Luntz interviewed gives me hope that this country can be saved from financial ruin. Rep West is a breath of fresh air, I expect to see him rise in the Republican party. Every day I am more impressed with Congressman West. Those on the left are afraid of him because he is living proof that intelligent, articulate black Americans do not need the Democratic party to succeed. Leftists are probably the biggest racists in the country for they continually preach that black American citizens cannot make it on their own without huge hand outs from a paternalistic government. If Allen West, Herman Cain and other successful black Americans can get the message out to the average citizen, perhaps we can see a great, legitimate change in the direction the country is going.

Allen West is a man with integrity, and I’m thrilled that he is serving in Congress. I think he takes his role very seriously, and will do everything in his power to do the job he was hired to do. We need more politicians like Allen West.
