Freshman Senator Marco Rubio maintains a daunting schedule that ranks up there with the most active politicians in Washington, D.C. Not only does Rubio keep to his hectic Senatorial calendar while in the nation’s capital, he routinely makes his way back down to Florida to address his constituents back home in Miami as well as throughout the state. On top of that, Senator Rubio juggles his Senatorial responsibilities with his young family, which includes his wife, aka ‘The Boss’, and his four young Rubio mini-me’s who are more than enough work by themselves.
So with obviously plenty of time to spare at this juncture in his career, Senator Rubio has gone back to teaching at Florida International University in Miami. Recall that Rubio taught at FIU both before and during his campaign for the U.S. Senate, only to leave his position after being elected. Sources say that Rubio might attempt to juggle his U.S. Senate schedule with that of a college professor on Mondays and Fridays- the Senate’s typical work week is Tuesday-Thursday.
Upon running a faculty search on the schools website, Senator Rubio’s name pops up as faculty under Department name, SIPA, the School of International and Public Affairs. The school also posts Rubio’s teaching email address. Senator Rubio’s response to my inquiry of why he went back to teaching was simple and to the point:
“I love teaching.”- Senator Marco Rubio
Senator Rubio can do many things, and one cannot blame him for making the unselfish decision of thinking of his family first and getting a second job to make ends meet- there’s no doubt that many Americans can relate with Senator Rubio’s decision. There is however no truth to the rumor that Rubio will be filling in as a backup for Roary the Panther, the Golden Panthers’ lovable little mascot.

What’s not to like about this guy?—he’s the stuff presidents are made of.
God forbid Obama stays in for another 4 yrs, but that might set Rubio up for a 2016 run—either for president or vp. In the mean time, hopefully, 2012 conservatives (tea party type) will take majority in the senate—leaving Big O, and little b, the Piñatas of politics. When you consider the sorry group of Republican candidates’ running in the presidential primary, that idea doesn’t sound too bad. I’ve had an epiphany and I’m voting for Obama in 2012—okay, maybe not.
Red Dog, out…
Don’t worry, the media is already preparing to destroy Rubio’s chances of running for President by, of all things, saying he is not eligible due to the fact that his parents were not American citizens!
But the outlook for our Republican primary is looking good. Herman Cain is gaining a LOT of steam, Michele Bachman should jump in the race this month, and you still cannot count Palin out. Jim DeMint supporters are really pushing him to run, and I guess he is now considering it. And it looks like Gov. Perry is also considering joining the crowd. A lot of good conservatives if you ask me! Should get pretty lively!
Is he going to learn what the people that elected him sent him to Washington for because I think he has forgotten. He forgot to vote yea or nay on reauthorizing the Patriot Act. He has not joined with Rand Paul to stop the Obamainization of America. He did not speak up to the help the second amendment buy keeping firearms records out of the hands of the BATFE. So remind me what has Rubio done?
I think we need a Cuban/American as president to fix the mess the Anglos got us into, If he runs he can count on the complete family vote!!!
Going to be Marco’s student! Woohoo!

Funny how the media tries to raise eyebrows about Sen. Rubio teaching part-time, yet they overlook Rep. Wasserman-Schultz as the full-time Democratic National Commitee Chair.
If you go by original intent, our Congressmen should not be as powerful as they currently are. Doing part-time work on the side can only help to keep them from attempting to control every aspect of our lives.
He still needs to vote on the issues…. that is why we put him in office,
Not only does he make time to teach, we frequently see him attending Sunday Mass in Miami at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Kendall. God bless him!
Hey…you gotta hear this Herman Cain…what he is saying is SO good
I keep asking myself is he real? OK research / RESEARCH and if I
find he is real…HE HAS MY VOTE !!!
Marco is not constitutionally eligible…much like the current occupation.
