Connie Mack Endorses Mike Haridopolos for U.S. Senate

June 27, 2011

by Javier Manjarres

Our friends over at Newsmax are reporting that Congressman Connie Mack has endorsed current Florida Senate President and U.S. Senate candidate Mike Haridopolos in Florida’s  2012 U.S. Senate race. His endorsement adds to the likes of former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, Florida Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam and Florida CFO Steve Atwater, who have already endorsed Haridopolos in the race.

“I remember fondly Mike’s participation in the Freedom Caucus in Tallahassee and his watchful eye on the state budget as president of the [Florida] Senate,” stated Mack. “I ask all Florida Republicans today to join me in my support of Mike Haridopolos for the U.S. Senate.”

Haridopolos’ campaign manager, Tim Baker, hailed the Mack endorsement as “another great sign of the building momentum for our positive campaign to reform Washington, D.C.”-Read more at Newsmax

While Senator Haridopolos seems to be garnering considerable support among high-profile politicos throughout the state of Florida, another candidate in the race, Adam Hasner is quietly snatching support from the who’s who of the Conservative blogosphere and talk radio. The two other candidates in the Republican Senatorial primary race are former U.S. Senator George LeMieux, and former Army Colonel Mike McCalister, who have  yet to announce any endorsements.

This endorsement suprises me not at all. I’ve met Mike Haridopolous a number of times over the last 5 years at national and state conventions of my GOP goup; The Republican Liberty Caucus, http://www.rlc.org. He is a real down the line libertarian type conservative and, best of all, NOT a lawyer!

Mike has been the most effective FL Senate president since Dempsey Barron. He GETS THINGS DONE. I’ve also met him several times when my group was up in Talahassee lobbying for less government and lower taxes. He’s always been most symathetic and helfpul. He is MY candidate for the US Senate to replace Bill “moderate in Florida, leftist in Washington” Nelson next year! George LeMieux is out of the question; a Charlie Crist clone.

  2. Chopper says:

Two items for Senator Haridopolous. 1. “Where is the illegal immigration reform? 2. Tell me about this $150,000 book.

Should we expect anything else? Career politicians stick together like glue. I respect Connie Mack a lot, but his endorsement is just one career politician sticking with the club of career politicians. It’s called playing it safe. Career politicians are as institutionalized with their endorsements as the voters are reluctant to back a candidate that actually has the people’s agenda at the forefront of their mind set. No we must change the type of politicians we send to DC or Tallahassee.

The political career politicians had their chance and still can’t get it right. I’ve listened to Candidates like Ron Rushing for example and he is the most reasonable, truth speaking, result oriented candidate in this field.

We all have heard once in our life that insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result. Don’t you think that should apply to the type of career candidates we send to Washington?
Once I would like to see a career politican step asside from there insider endorcements and look at candidates outside the spectrum of politics and endorce a candidate that the people desire, not what career politicans want.

Who the heck is Connie Mack?

  5. Theresa says:

Not a chance in hell Mike gets my support.

  6. Darlene says:

I’m not surprised either that one politician would support another. Haridopolous has done a horrible job in Talahassee. Why would we send him to Washington?

  7. Tad says:

RINO y RINO… Est GOP y Est GOP… Who expected anyhing else?

  8. Cherieo says:

Hold on here folks. I am a true Conservative. I have kept track of Connie Mack’s voting record almost daily. He votes on the issues as I would want him to vote. I am satisfied with Connie’s voting record and I believe he has endorsed this man as he believes they think the same and would vote likewise. I really don’t think Connie would have endorsed this man if he didn’t feel he could do the job.

  9. Pete says:

Gee Wiz, those amnesty fellas really do stick together don’t they.

I guess Brother Jeb is waitin’ for it to get a bit closer to primary day before he chimes in.

Looks like the fix is in guys.

Don’t be fooled. Mike HairOrADopeOrLess is not even close to being a conservative. He was responsible for destroying E-Verify (Senate Bill 2040), which would have helped stem the tsunami of illegal aliens coming into Florida and stealing jobs from the poorer blacks and whites during this time of extreme unemployment. He wants to have the illegals get the jobs and not the citizens of the state of Florida. He is a true quissling. He would sell his soul to get the purse strings from the Big Ag Business Czars and Chamber of Commerce cronies who want to hire real cheap labor and throw lower income echelon florida workers under the bus.
When he comes to North-East or North-West Florida, we will be waiting for him. He helped unemploy thousands of Floridians in order to get the big contributions from Big Ag and the Progressive Catholic Council who believe in total open borders. He is no Conservative, he is a traitor to the Conservative cause.

  11. Carlos says:

Wow, I’m shocked! Establishment RINO endorses the same. Does a bear crap in the woods? Predictable. Watch out with the RINO moves, Connie, you might get a Tea Party challenger.

  12. Mike I says:

I am not falling for this. We need to stop endorsing career RINO’s and start supporting TEA Party-like conservatives. Mike McCalister, anyone?

  13. T. John Avatarici says:

I agree Florida needs a strong anti-illegal aliens conservative, not another out of the Tallahassee fold. It didn’t worrk for Charlie C. and we cannot allow it to work here. No middle of the raod politicians again, ever. This is not about a battle…

  14. GenEarly says:

The Troops are Rallying! NO to the “establishment” Repubs AKA RINO’s who shuttle E Verify bills off to hostile senate committee chairmen(Flores & Alexander) to kill it. Compliments of Sen. Pres. Haridopolus. (Who speaking of hair reminds me of Ex Gov Blago from Illinois in his speaking and style)

Connie Mack supported Suntan Charlie. What was wrong with that you say? Charlie “was” a Repub at the time. CHARACTER you could see Charlie’s a mile away,Pandering,Smiling-stab-you in the back 2 Face. If you couldn’t see it you were/are blind and have some of the same characteristics too. Like Mack, a kiss the hand of Bushie and the NWO RINO Repubs.

I am choosing between McCalister and Hasner.

  15. Cherieo says:

QUESTION?? Which candidate is the Tea Party Patriots supporting? I’ve been trying to find from articles here.
I will vote for the TPP candidate. Thanks.
