Allen West Addresses Transfer of Somali Terrorist to NYC by Obama Administration

Congressman Allen West has issued a stern response to President Obama’s recent transfer of a Somali enemy combatant to New York City in order to have his case heard in a civilian court. Recall that Obama and U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder tried this game several months back with 9/11 terrorist Khalid Sheik Mohammed when they attempted to hold his trial in NYC and not in a military tribunal at Guantanamo Bay. The Obama Administration eventually caved to pressure by the American people as well as from Democrats and Republicans to not have Mohammed’s case heard on U.S. soil.
Here is West’s statement:
“This suspected terrorist, Ahmed Abdulkadir Warsame, should be tried at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, as an illegal enemy combatant, following the Geneva Convention’s clear instruction on the manner in which individuals accused of such actions against the United States are to be prosecuted. The fact that President Obama continues to ignore the Authorization for Use of Military Force(AUMF) law, and the will of the American people, when it comes to this issue is unacceptable. This suspect is accused of supplying weapons, money and training to Al qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), a known enemy of the United States. We are fighting on a 21st Century Battlefield against a non-state, non-uniform belligerent enemy who has no regard for international borders or boundaries, and therefore does not deserve constitutional rights as would ordinary criminals. The laws are clear about this. Further, it is unacceptable that the Obama administration notified Congress only after it unilaterally transferred this detainee to New York City despite multiple requests for consultation.
I visited Guantanamo Bay in March, and witnessed a state of the art courtroom, built for these very kinds of cases, that continues to sit empty and unused. I want to know why this administration believes a civilian court is better suited for prosecuting enemy hostile terrorist actions, instead of a military tribunal system. Bringing Warsame to the states, giving him representation and clogging up American courts is a waste of taxpayer resources and sends a confusing message to Americans, as well as our enemies.”- Congressman Allen West

I do not want the trial to be here either and for the same reasons that Congressman West pointed out. In addition, the liberals here will have this man innocent in a New York Minute. Can I go as far as stating that the president should know better than to have a civilian court handle cases that only a military tribunal should handle. The President needs to change his mind on this. New Yorkers have gone through enough with these terriorist.
I totally agree with you, Allen West!! Why don’t you join forces with Herman Cain and tear this country up!! We need strong leadership and someone who is not afraid to state the truth. Please don’t be offended but we also would not have to hear how racial that we are. Your color has nothing to do with my choice of you and Herman. It is your ideas and your strength, your spirituality, your drive and the way you speak your mind. I like Herman as he always thinks before he speaks, has a proven record of business that works right, and uses his God given wisdom.

Congressman West has explicitly explained why this enemy of the U.S. should be tried in a military court.
I disagree that anyone is confused….I think our enemies are elated that the American President is such a friend to those set out to hurt us.

2nd: You have honorably served this country and I believe you to be a ‘patriot’s patriot!!! I believe you have a great love for this country, as do I, and I believe that is the reason that you are now serving in the U.S. House of Representatives. I was not a career vet, but served 4 years in the USAF in the 60′s. I, too, have a deep and abiding love for this great country. Currently, we have an administration that, I believe, does not share that same patriotic love for what made this the greatest country the world has ever known. Instead I believe they have a deep disdain for all the things that we hold dear!! With that said, I would like to make a request of you!!
Run for President of the United States……….if this country has ever needed you, it needs you now and at the highest level. Please consider this serious request…..our country is on the brink of failure and if we have 4 more years of this current administration, failure will not be a part of any equation, it will be a fact!!! You were born to lead and if we ever needed a leader it is NOW!!! You would re-write history books!!!
This IS a military matter. With or without uniform these terrorists are fighting a declared war against the US. They are responsible for the deaths of our soldiers and of innocent women, children and other non-combatants.
They should be detained at the terrorist camp at GITMO, there to receive a swift military trial for their crimes. If found guilty military justice should be carried out as called for. This should include the “Butcher of Fort Hood” who should have faced a firing squad many months ago. Not sat, at our expense, getting room and board, medical treatment and (so I hear) salary!!!
Allan West is correct and we need the rest of Congress to stand with him and force Obama to stop treating these terrorists with kid gloves because they are Muslim.

This is why the DemocRATS push so hard for amnesty for illegals, or as they like to say “a pathway to citizenship” so they can continue to have a dumbed down electorate. Many uneducated illegal immigrants like their “free stuff”. I mean, who doesn’t want “free stuff?” I guess those of us who still have integrity, dignity and don’t want to be on the taxpayer handout programs actually work, even for low wages to get by!
I see it all the time — I work in a large grocery chain and you would not believe the number of able bodied, of sound mind (if not highly intelligent), people who are on SNAP, the “Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program”. It’s the new friendly sounding name for FOOD STAMPS! They even get a “debit card” with the American flag on it. Do you think this might be a “FU” to Americans from Obama and gang?!? By the way Judicial Watch said Obama spent $68 MILLION of taxpayer dollars to “advertise to the food insecure” this program. How anyone could have voted for Obama the first time is beyond comprehension, but a second time?!? It terrifies me.
I’ve had at least two different customers come in and joke, laugh, have a good old time getting their “free groceries” while wearing a lot of gold, dressed decently, etc. and both customers said, and I quote word for word, “This is on Obama.” Guess what a-hole, it’s on the American taxpayer — look around at all these people working for substandard wages because of entitlement programs and illegals being allowed to work in my state!” Of course if I want to keep my job, I can’t say this. I looked them both straight in the eyes and said “Not really.” They both stopped laughing, lowered their heads and became somber. Yeah, be shameful, because the “government” is we the people, the ones who actually work and contribute to the tax base.
This country needs to get back to basics or we’re completely screwed. I just hope it’s not too late. Anyone that votes for a Democrat is voting for socialism because when push comes to shove, the Democrats always tow the party line. And, the RINO’s — let’s primary them! Thank God for true American Patriots like Rep. Allen West!
Rep. West answered the bell on this issue; nothing more need be added. He is the ANTI-Obama in every way–thank God for that and for Rep. West too! He’s doing an excellent job right now, and his appeal is spreading beyond the borders of Florida rapidly. I’m not sure he’s national ‘timber’ just yet; but let’s see how the early primary season goes. We have 16 months until election day; plenty of time to find the right ‘team’ to evict Obozo from the White House. I share all the concerns and comments that were left here; and fear that America is just teetering on the brink of disaster every single day. God help–and bless all!!
I wish Allen West was our president. He has experience, leadership and is competent, something our current president is not.
