As Republicans across the nation continue to mull over whom they will support in the crowded Presidential field or who whey will support in their respective congressional and senatorial primary races, the consensus is clear that our common goal is to defeat President Obama and the congressional allies who are true believers in his failed socialistic policies.
One could argue that President Obama’s most prominent water-carrier is Congresswoman and DNC Chairman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz of Florida. Congresswoman Wasserman-Schultz wears Obama’s failed policies on her sleeve as a badge of honor, and unlike many of her Democrat colleagues, she eagerly embraces those failures and spins them as successes- and does so while keeping a straight face. She is a tenacious fighter, but unfortunately she fights in the name of all the wrong causes, all the wrong policies, and even in the economic ruins that those policies leave in their wake.
It will take an individual with discipline and a thick skin to mount a strong enough campaign that will force Wasserman-Schultz to actively defend her congressional seat. I am proud to announce that I am fully supporting Karen Harrington and her campaign for Congress even at this early juncture in order to defeat Debbie Wasserman-Schultz in 2012. Karen’s decades of private sector experience will nicely contrast against perhaps the most pre-eminent career politician in the country today, and she is in position to build off of her previous campaign’s efforts and manage a comprehensive grassroots outreach throughout the district that none of her primary competitors are in a position to accomplish.
This challenge to ‘Fire Debbie’ must be a concerted effort by all Republicans, whether they live within Florida’s 20th Congressional District or not. As DNC Chaiwoman, Wasserman-Schultz has the power to direct Democrat Party resources against Republican candidates such as Congressman Allen West, Paul Ryan, Steve Southerland, and other races they deem necessary to dedicate their efforts towards. Waging a strong opposition campaign effort in her congressional district- a district whose boundaries are likely to change- will force her to spend time, energy, and resources in a district that she would much rather spend elsewhere. Typically, Wasserman-Schultz carefully selects her appearances in the district, and she only steps up her campaign efforts to solidify her base in the weeks preceding election day. A sustained grassroots effort will keep the heat on Debbie and force her to play defense.
I ask that all of you go to Karen Harrington’s www.firedebbie.com site and donate any amount you can, they all help- whether it’s $5, $10,$15,$25 or more to her campaign. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz can be stopped, but in order to defeat her, it’s on Republicans to galvanize behind one candidate early and really put the pressure on Wasserman-Schultz, and that’s why I am supporting Karen Harrington for Congress.

I know this comment is not going to be popular with many of my fellow conservatives but I have the cajones to keep it real.
Being I live in district 20 I spent close attention to the district 20 race as I am desperate to see DWS lead propagandist ousted from public service. Is Karen Harrington the best the GOP can come up with to face a juggernaut like DWS? Did any of you attended the Republican primary debates last year between, Milo, Lowery and Harrington? I did, and I said then I thought Harrington had the least chance to beat DWS.
Yes, she has solid conservative principals, I’m not disputing that, but she came across more like a sweet school teacher than a commanding politician.
While the Republican base was gathered the dynamics of the demographics were clear, 50 years old and under supported Lowery or Milo and 60 years and above were for Harrington. I believe this is why she won the primary last year, because of a 10% primary turnout of mostly elderly people.
Debbie took Karen’s challenge so seriously that she did no campaigning of consequence and refused to even debate. She primarily campaigned for others because she knew she was safe and will probably do the same in 2012.
Harrington’s hot sauce add really did make a mockery of her as a legitimate candidate. Who in the world advised her to do that? I ask with respect again, is Harrington the best we have?
Sandman sounds like your typical Lowry hack! Time to move on, buckaroo! Support Karen or not! No need to criticize her for having more cajones than you, for doing something you clearly are not equipped to do: face DWS.
In case you missed 2010 Coco, we took an epic deatdown in CD20. I’m not endorsing Lowry or anyone else. I just want a snowballs chance in hell of winning. If Harrington is it I’ll support, but I feel like I’m bringing knife to a gunfight.
I am sick and tired of people that are still stuck in 2010 — look ahead to 2012 and you will see Karen Harrington is the clear choice, anyone voting for someone else is throwing giving your vote to DWS.
40% is not epic but then not all people are good at math. Harrington lost in 2010 because of the Lowry supporters saying they will never vote for Harrington. I have witnessed them saying that too many times to care to remember so pretty much for every 2 Lowry boneheads that didn’t vote for Harrington, DWS got a vote.

I don’t know where to begin. Just a couple of MAIN points:
1. Karen entered late last time
2. No money behind her
3. No media coverage
She may have had the demeanor of a school teacher last time. I know this person. I know why that was. She is not like that now. This person is on fire ! What this state needs is a business person like her who knows what it means to create jobs and to meet weekly payrolls. Not a government hack or an activist for one cause. (read between the lines)
Remember 40% of the vote means she just needed another 11% to win, duh ! !

I try not to get mad when discussing politics and I’ve learned over the years that it’s much more satisfying to just get even, so here goes.
Because DWS was so nervy as to cross over into another district to campaign for Ron Klein against Allen West, wouldn’t it be fair for Allen West to return the favor and agree to lead a rally in support of Harrington in DWS’s district?

Pauline, this is precisely why this is not the smart thing to do. DWS and Hastings went to Allen’s office to protest. Allen’s not going to scoop himself to their level and neither should we. It will not help his campaign.

Then you claim there’s no way I could know who Lowry supporters are voting for because I’m not in the booth with them, but somehow there’s room for Coco the blowhard to be there to know. I’ve worked with and know many Lowry supporters and you obviously have not. So I think my insight has a lot more credibility then your ridiculous assertion that these people actually went into a voting booth and didn’t vote for the conservative candidate over the detestable DWS. You know what Coco, I want to apologize for just calling you a jerkoff. It was lame and out of line. I am going to support Harrington, it’s obvious no one else is going to step up to take on DWS. Hopefully Karen can make a better showing this time. I think the poster Pauline has a great idea. I hope the Harrington campaign has reached out to West. Not that he is completely safe in CD22 but anything he could do for CD20 would be a great boost.

Harrington is a nice person, but Congressional material?? Get real! No fund of knowledge, no … tools. As her what sorts of cuts she feels should be made to fix the deficit. Ask her whether we damaged our relationship with India to favor Pakistan to Pakistan would help?) us in Afghanistan. Ask her what she thinks of Scotland having its own Parliament after over 200 years. See the blank stare. Yet these are things a Congressperson could address intelligently – not encyclopaedically – just intelligently – like an Allen West can do. Try it out. Ask her a couple of these. In fact, ask all 3 of the candidates.
We need to stand behind Karen at this time and unite as one under her campaign. Has anyone heard Karen speak recently. If you have not. I suggest for everyone to hear this wonderful candidate speak and then say to yourself that this is the candidate that will defeat DWS in 2012. God bless Karen for taking on this fight and Thank You.

As a Jew, I know personally that Karen is strongly with the Jewish people and loves Israel. I thank God that there are courageous Christians like her out there that have our back! She has our vote.

Come on folks!!! I just read all these comments and THIS is what is WRONG with the Republican Party. Everyone thinks they are the sidewalk superintendents and know all and how campaigns should be run. I can’t vote for Karen..but being a Conservative I will do what I can to help her with those I know around her district. Yes, it would be nice if Alan West, even Marco would come out and endorse her. Conservatives NEED TO WORK AS A ‘TEAM’!! As a former County Chairman that I always what I kept hammering into our candidates. Team work folks! Team Work!!!!
