You mean we can’t see Allen is his tight tight camo shorts?! Haten it….
My wife and I have received nasty looks while shopping at the Publix in Wilton Manors. So I stay away. It’s funny, I go all these years being treated like a normal human being and all of a sudden I step into Wilton Manors and the same nasty looks I received as a black child in a white neighborhood in the 80′s exists in 2011 at a Publix. So their treatment of Allen West isn’t shocking, it’s typical.
You know, Publix is where shopping is for pleasure. What’s the address of that Publix?
Stealthy: But, Publix is “where shopping is for pleasure’. What’s the address of that Publix.
As a Puerto Rican American it saddens me to see the inane actions of those who keep others from saying their piec.e and in essence violating “Freedom of Speech”
Understand that when one person is not allowed to speak either through cancellation of an appearance or drowining out with cat calls, it casts suspiciion on those taking the action .Wise up and accept the fact that when something or someone is prohibited , it just makes it more intriguing.
Look at the cancellation as Allen West’s moral, ethical strength, from an organization that demands tolerance but shows none for anyone who dares to disagree with them.
Esther, well said!! Kind of a hypercritical action in many ways for sure.
Mark, isn’t hypocracy one of the signature character traits of a Liberal?
No, Ardvark, it is not. Making pathological statements and using a belief in a god as an excuse for your pathology is a republican trait.
I am a gay man who was at a function for Allen West when he was running in 2008.
Everyone tried reaching my family in the midwest, with no success, Lt. Colonel Allen West, came to the hospital with me and was by my side until my family arrived. He is a stand up man, who has his convictions, but out of pure facts, he has no hatred, bigotry or any other repulsive prejudice that a lot of people in my community, the LGBT’ers all have.
How can the left cry for equality when they do not believe in it themselves??
I love to see postings about gay republicans being self loathing and self hating faggots, stupid queens who only watch out for our own wallets. For the LOVE OF GOD, I am NOT my brother’s keeper. Let the left winger queers (I can say that since I am gay and not be a hater) figure out, someday, they are NOT going to have a cent in their wallets, because the HOPE and CHANGE that they keep voting for is killing our county and it soon going to be illegal to be gay as so many of our other freedoms are being expelled from us daily.
Congressman West, I am a QUEER, HOMO, FAGGOT who totally supports you and the way you stand on your convictions. A wise man said, those “who don’t stand for anything, will fall for everything…” Well, the proof is in their eclairs.
Ben
like some of your comments, but i have to say people who claim to born again christians have to believe the bible, and it says that man should not lay with man and so with women.who’s right.
Evilyn: and the bible says that women should be subservient to men. So, make sure you follow the bible to the letter.
I am a gay man who was at a function for Allen West when he was running in 2008. I unexpectedly had a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital. I was not responding for the first 2 days. When I came to there was Col. West. The nurses had told me that he only left for brief intervals.

Well, my head got run over by a truck and Allen was the only one who could heal me!
Esther,Referring to your comment “an organization that demands tolerance” is unjustified and bigoted. It is downright stupid and shows a lack of understanding on your part. I am not sure what orgainzation you speak of, so your attempt to tie Rep. West to such an organization is simply showing your intolerance for anyone who would have a different opinion than you on personal and /or important matters.
Are you speaking of the organization: US Army? Gays serve & lead.
Are you speaking of the organization: Republican Party? Gays serve & lead. Former President Bush our government give more financial aid to Africa and the US to fight AIDS than any other president before him or after.
Are you speaking of the organization: Tea Party? The U.S Constitution is the fundamental rule of our land. As an American and in America you can choose to be Catholic and then decide to be Lutheran, and even a gay Lutheran. You may even want to be what you want to be. That’s one’s right. That’s the law that the Tea Party honors.
What organization are you speaking about? It seems to me that you are a foolish person who “demands tolerance but shows none for anyone who dares to disagree with them”.
Who ever said that the homosexual community (in general) cares about “tolerance”m or the freedoms of anyone else other than themselves?
As I have many times, there is no such thing as “individual liberty and freedom” (as defined in our Constitution), because the minute the freedoms of one group are enforced, you immediately infringe upon the freedom of the group in opposition. Today, just as it’s always been, the freedoms of only one group are being enforced by law, while the rest are enfringed upon…. And this is being done by those who were elected to represent people who (when given the opportunity) have repeatedly voted against such laws.
Many homosexuals believe that free speech, and the right to disagree is reserved only for them. I have seen people destroyed, lives threatened and families threatened for disagreeing with them.
They do not understand that people have the right to love them as persons, without accepting, legalizing and normalizing their behavior choices.
Allen West is one of very few, who is not afraid to stand by himself and publicly state what he believes, but you will see that he will be persecuted for this.
Oh Javier:
You’re mixed up on this one. It’s not the “gay business association” in Wilton Manors but another diverse group named WMBA that has been challenged by Norm Kent, Michael Rajner, and former Ft. Lauderdale City Com. Dean Trantalis who are, in one way or another, connected to the “Florida Gay, Lesbian, Transgender Democratic Caucus.” Also, a number of Vets who support the lifting of the DADT ban disagree with Allen’s claim that their sexual orientation is incompatible with military service and troop morale. They are under the impression he wants the ban continued and reintroduced again for codification. Others who support Domestic Partnerships and/or Civil Unions with equality of benefits, with the option of having their own religious institutions witness their contract through ceremony, also disagree with those who would deny that right. Obviously, all such rights have been lumped under “marriage” which is viewed by people of faith as sacred dogma regardless of the issue of turnstile divorce effecting about 50% of today’s marriages and destroying the “traditional family.”
You also report that Rep. Col. West has a gay relative but so do others but that doesn’t change their issues about gays and bisexuals. Just look at the recent story about Randy Robert Potts, the gay grandson of the late televangelist Oral Roberts
Anyway you were sent the following article but you may not have check the story out thoroughly before you led into it with your lead caption suggesting WMBA was a gay group which isn’t. Therefore, you will note that Broward’s WMBA is being “Challenged over the Rep. West Invite,” so review the rest of the story at: http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/opinion/editorials/fl-gay-group-wilton-manors-editorial-20110729,0,5622039.story
Sun Sentinel Editorial Board – July 30, 2011
It’s too bad the gay community looks at this as silencing the opposition. This should have been used as a forum for West and gays to better understand each others opnions. Only through understanding the concerns of others are we open to change. Sounds like an opportunity lost.
I think this gay biz community is RACIST. Yep, they are racist because they can only see black as dependent of the progressive white minds…. But when a black man like Mr. West doesn’t play the game of the liberal minds they will always find a way to hate and label this black person.
Suck it, gay liberals, your moral problems are not caused by a great man like Alan West but by yourselves.
I am not against gays, but I cannot tolerate gay racism against a black conservative man or woman.
We need to boycott these gay business!
We need to begin to address things in their proper context; we need to stop assigning attributes which do not genuinely intermingle. No more ‘political correctness’; for this will indeed be our undoing. We need to express truth, even though it might be hurtful for a time; we need to shun contrivance, and be clinical. For this we must be educated.
Homosexuality: sexual desire towards another of the same gender. It is a mental disorder resulting in sexual perversion (unnatural; nature can not further life through homosexuality, a scientific edict in its pathology). It was wrongly removed from the list of mental diseases by the APA in December of 1973 after violent demonstrations, starting first with the ‘Stonewall Riots’ (Stonewall Inn, 51-53 Christopher Street, Greenwich Village, NYC) on June 28, 1969, and then later in May of 1970, by homosexual activists in California who forcefully took over an APA conference objecting to the classification of homosexuality as a mental illness. When homosexuality was deleted as a disease category from the DSM-II, a new diagnosis, “sexual orientation disturbance,” was added to describe persons attracted to members of the same sex who are either disturbed by, in conflict with, or wish to change their sexual orientation. This diagnosis was renamed “ego dystonic homosexuality” in the 3rd edition of the DSM, DSM-III (Washington, DC: APA; 1980). The category did not appear in the DSM-IIIR, and in the 4th edition (DSM-IV) there is no reference to homosexuality, except under “sexual disorder not otherwise specified” (Washington, DC: APA; 1994). Physiologically there is no ‘gay gene’ making oneself homosexual, but that false position is constantly touted as such by the homosexual community; furthermore, there is a constant move to ‘recruit’ young individuals into homosexuality (showing it is not a natural condition state among humans). Roughly 1.7 percent of the 18-and-over population in the US identify themselves as ‘gay’. On June 1, 2009, President Barack Obama declared June 2009 as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month, citing the riots as a reason to “commit to achieving equal justice under law for LGBT Americans”. This, of course, was ment to seal 1.7% of the vote for him in the 2012 election; even though our society is based on the ‘Rule of Law’.
Mentally sound individuals do not wish harm to homosexuals, but they do understand that they are mentally ill and should not be afforded the opportunity to falsely present themselves as ‘normal’ and have their conduct forced on us. In that much harm and death has come from this decision to act in abomination of nature and wholesomeness, we should take a stand to curtail further inroads by enlightening the general public via truhfull knowledge. There is help for disturbed individuals; let’s speak the truth and implore them to get that help and restore them to the possibilities of superlative human potential.
A softer, gentlier tact does not work, for like the spoiled child they have consistantly thrown temper tantrums. It is time to say “Enough is enough, this falsehood must go”.
[...] who find it sad that leftist leaders of the gay community would marginalize their community “by standing against anyone or anything that isn’t painted over with a big fat ‘gay pride flag’… [...]
In my honest opinion, I could careless that the event was canceled, Col West has the attention of the entire country solely based on his Knowledge, Integrity, Courageous abilities and Honor to this country. I wish he would help us by taking the lead in 2012.
What offends me the most, Is the picture of the mock Iwo Jima Flag Raising , that to me is a symbol of Freedom that some gave all for, Not for anyone group but the entire country. Not one color, Not one sex, Not one religion.

His Dream, Our Mission
P.S
Our Personal choices have no business in politics and Col West feel that way, as I do also.
Our Government has no right to decided who we are or what we do as long as it doesn’t cost the taxpayers a dime.
I don’t believe that the event was canceled due to his position on marriage but either the color of his skin or the fact that he is a Republican .

It is sickening how the Wilton Manor Business Association…which represents most of the gay businesses in the Fort Lauderdale gay ghetto — and the Broward Log Cabin Republicans allowed this to happen. I was at the Broward Republican Womens Luncheon yesterday when the President of the WM Business Association announced how easily she was intimidated into cancelling the Allen West event.
Surely she could have gotten police protection for Allen West and his sponsors despite all the thretening phone calls she received from sicko gay activists. She also announced that she had the backing of the worthlesss Log Cabin group to retreat and hide the Congressman.
Why couldn’t Log Cabin members have introduced or escorted Allen West into the meeting instead of showing what eternal cowards they are? It is the spinlessness of these elderly, “moderate” gay activists in BREC who have been appeasing Gay bigotry for years in Wilton Manors while lecturing BREC about their bigotry. From backing Charlie Crist in the 2010 General Election to hiding Allen West from a public appearance in Wilton Manors, these Log Cabin members are 3rd-class politicians and the most repugnant form of Republican cowardly creeps in our city. They are a disgrace to the US civil rights movement for any minority group and should just go back into their closets before they make every Republican or conservative want to throw up.
How can Log Cabin ever show up at a local BREC or GOP function and have the nerve to talk about their contrived equality or their self-centered pride when they don’t have the self-respect to stand by the Congressman? Log Cabin is essentially a motley group of tragic homosexual men who can’t even find a gay person to be their Club President…pitiful. These gay men — socalled Gay Republicans — now represent the lowest moment of Congressman Allen West’s congressional career, and the Broward Log Cabin Club’s lowest moment in the 21st Century. There is not another BREC Club that will ever look so pitiful and pathetic in the history of Florida’s Republican Party. This is the thanks BREC and the RPOF gets for feeling sorry for Log Cabin and including them in our coalition.
The lady who is President of the WM Business Association and who arranged for Allen West to look so weak and intimidated by the hate-filled Gay Left and their apologists, the local Log Cabin group, is probably a nice enough person; but she is too conventional and too unimaginative to know how to handle the gruesomeness that dominates local Gay politics.
I HATE people who live in log cabins. I mean HATE, HATE, HATE! And those who live in log houses should not throw stoners.
They should all take a header into a stagnant fish pond!
BNB well said. The left wing is afraid because Americans are stepping up to the plate. Their agenda has been exposed. Change and hope is happening as our life, libery and the pursue of happiness is no longer the American dream. The liberals want to do away with our freedom, speech and liberty to be ourselves without government intrussion. Colonel West is an admirable family man and great politician. He is not inmy district, but I support him in whatever I can. Let’s keep our heads high and don’t give up our fight, specially jn the 2012 election. These croanies in DC will soon find out that they will be out of a job in 2012.
I have observed that liberals of all stripes are alike in one way: they tolerate only opinions to which they subscribe. I think any time a group insists that everyone else believe as they do, it is a sign that they are afraid they are wrong. What other reason could there be for disallowing anyone who has a different perspective. What anti-gay legislation could Mr. West support? It is simply that the gay community must convert everyone so that they can feel validated. I wish every group would stop trying to proselitize and start looking for what is good for the country. After all, if liberals continue to have their way, there won’t be a country in which we can practice our private beliefs. I think Stalinist Russia persecuted homosexuals.
Hey RLH, maybe you should read the article again, she was referring to the Wilton Manors Business Association, not any of the Lt Col’s orgs. Me thingst you owe an apology.
This picture is an insult. Who do they think they are to put their rainbow flag and their sorry a$$es in such an important, historic picture. Not even freedom of speech covers this flaw.
You’re wrong Dennis. As a constitutional scholar, this type of expression-commonly known as a photograph-is protected under the 1st, 4th and 1776 amendments.
I find the picture offensive. A bunch of FAGS in a pose reminiscent of the soldiers at Iwo Jima. This country is going down the tubes and it seems to be picking up speed.
The term “queer” describes not only their sexuality, but as well their mentality. Only someone abnormally queer in their mind would ever brazenly declare themselves “proud” of being an abomination in God’s face. But! . . . God gave them that right, so let them kill off their own souls to their hearts content. Don’t sweat it. If you’re going to heaven, there won’t be any of them there to disturb the tranquility and peace. If you’re going to hell, what will it matter? Your soul will face the same eternal destruction theirs does and once destroyed your soul won’t have anything left to resent it with.
So sit back and enjoy the bumpy ride…
No tolerance. You are the loser.
Atheists are correct on this one.
Wilton Manors should grow up and let Congressman West speak. Gotta love double standards.
