Islamic Republican Club Inches Closer To Existence (UPDATE)

The Republican Party is close to reading on to its local Broward Republican rolls a new Muslim member, as Nezar Hamze, the controversial Florida director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), has submitted his formal application to become a member of the Broward Republican Executive Committee (BREC). Hamze is confirming that his application has been received and is being reviewed by BREC chairman Richard DeNapoli and Vice Chairwoman Colleen Stolberg.
“I spoke with DeNapoli earlier this week. He said that Colleen handles the application process to join BREC. He told me that he would have her call me if there is any problems. Regarding the charter, haven’t got that far yet. I believe I need to join Brec first right?”-Nezar Hamze, FL Director-CAIR
Hamze also added that he has been talking up the possibility of a Muslim Republican Club and has been receiving “a lot of support” due to the “massive constituency” that supports his cause. The story has grown legs and is now receiving national attention after Salon.com posted two stories about the possible Muslim-Republican union. Read more here: Salon
This story was first reported a couple weeks back after a local pro-Israel activist announced at the Fort Lauderdale Tea party meeting Hamze’s intentions to join the local Republican party of Broward. Hamze confirmed the activist’s claim that he had approached Chairman DeNapoli about joining the Committee and added that he was also looking to start the first Republican Muslim club. The local Republican Party has acknowledged its need to reach out to Jewish constituents by supporting its Broward Republican Jewish Outreach group that meets monthly, so the door has been opened for a possible Muslim Republican Outreach group or club.
“Hamze said that he spoke to Broward GOP Chairman Richard DeNapoli about his intentions and indicated that DeNapoli did not deny him the opportunity to start an Islamic-Republican club or join the committee. Hamze is best known for his confrontation with Congressman Allen West earlier this year during which he questioned West with a Koran in hand asking him to point out verses in the Koran where it tells believers to “kill Americans”.
Hamze considers himself as being ‘very conservative’ and believes his political views are in-line with the Republican party’s political platform. The local GOP Chairman ran for his current position on a ‘GOP Unity’ platform, and said he would work with ‘all’ Republicans in the county. The ‘big tent’ Broward Republican party already has a religion-based club/coalition, named the Broward Republican Jewish Outreach.”-The Shark Tank
The real controversy is not the fact that Hamze is Muslim, but that the organization that employs him (CAIR) was named as a unindicted co-conspirator in the famed Holy Land Foundation federal investigation several years back in Dallas, Texas. The Holy Land Foundation turned out to have been a front organization for the Terrorist organization Hamas. CAIR denies having any ties to Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood, or an other terror organizations. However many feel that where there’s smoke there is fire, and believe that CAIR is actually fronting for one, if not all of these known terror organizations.
According to the Republican guidelines that all existing members have met to become members, Hamze needs only sign a loyalty oath to the Republican Party, and prove that he is a registered Republican. Hamze is planning to attend the September meeting of the Broward Republican Party where he will most likely be read on to the rolls, barring any unforeseen ‘problems.’
UPDATE: Nezar Hamze has issued the following statement: “I am employed by CAIR Florida not CAIR in DC. CAIR FLORIDA has never been named in any case.”

I, for one, would welcome anyone to the Republican tent, as long as he/she shares in our values and goals. I’m still confused about this controversy, having been a “member” of a Florida REC. You just don’t waltz into an REC and ask for membership, or as stated by Shark Tank above, just sign the Loyalty Oath. You are signing a loyalty oath that also shows you as the Precinct Committeeman or woman for your precinct in your county. Is Hamze the Precinct committeeman? Has he either been voted into that elected position by either 1)a vacancy that the REC must fill, or 2)a vote of the people in a presidential election? What does the RPOF have to say about this controversy? They have the final say and permission as to whether a person or group uses the Republican name and logo as part of their “new” group. Hamze has every right to attend the REC meetings and participate to a point. He does not have the right to vote during those meetings unless he is an actual “member”…a precinct committeeman. (Or unless I haven’t heard it yet, is he a State Committeeman for that REC?) This is simple…what’s all the fuss about, just follow the rules, which must fall in line with the RPOF rules.

If you register to vote and you put Republican as your party then you are at that momement a registered Republican. I do not know how they do it in Broward County but other counties to become a member of the Exicutive committee you have to repesent the preceint you live in. If that preceint is already represented you will have to wait untill the next election and you can stand for the position, If you win then the Executive Committee accepts you with your oath to only represent the Republican Party and you are voted in by the entire committee.
The other issues as to his employment with Cair or him being Muslim is a seprate thing that Broward will have to deal with. My feeling if this was in my county him being a Muslim and wanting to form a Muslim Republican Party 8s in keeping with what the Republican Party stands for. I have sympathy for the position Richard D finds himself in. BREC is being set up in a lose/lose gambit. The meetings of the BRC that I have attended have been a real hoot. This will make things really interesting. Will BRC have to pay for the additional security needed at the meetings, or will CAIR pay the bill? Will any and all felons be invited to attend or just the ones representing CAIR? Will the hard core Zionists be as welcome to attend? Will we be required to check our guns at the door? I have never had a problem before in coming legally armed. But if unindicted co conspirator terrorists are going to attend, I think every patriotic American that is law abiding and legally licensed to carry a fire arm is obligated to do so. I am certain that I would feel the same way if the Westboro Baptists or followers of Tim McVeigh were to attend, so its not a racist matter at all.
Ban firearms and the NRA will be all over this. Not good for the republican base. Whatever happens, the genie is out of the bottle. This is going to be a world class goat rope brought on by the powers at BRC and I am looking forward to attending much more frequently.

The FBI has taken the “public stance” of no longer having any interaction with CAIR. We at BREC will follow the lead of the FBI and deny Mr. Hamze admittance into BREC until the matter with CAIR’s legal standing is resolved in a court of law.
We at BREC support Muslim reformers like Dr. Zuhdi Jasser and Tawfiq Hamid – sadly CAIR has publicly attacked Dr. Jasser and Tawfiq Hamid.
We wish Mr. Hamze the best of luck with the formation of his Islamic Republican Club.

I keep hearing that DeNapoli gave some of the delegate seats for Presidency 5 to Hamze and 3 or 4 of his friends. You don’t have to already be a BREC member to be a delegate from your county to P5. Does anyone know about that?

CAIR is the issue…HEAR THAT LOUD AND CLEAR…..They are a terrorist group, no doubt about it! Let the applicant quit CAIR and denounce their activities and there will be NO PROBLEM…We are too liberal for our own good. We are ripe for the “pickins.” They know it and we refuse to understand it!!!!
First, Islam is not a religion it is a nation with its own government that does not recognize our laws. Therefore we should not be confused that they have religious rights. They are a foreign entity that has declared war on the United States.
The GOP should go to court immediately to force these frauds from using the name “Republican” in connection with any Islamic centered organization. This is a Democrat ruse to devalue the Republican Party. Don’t fall for any more of the crap emanating from the fraud in the White House.

BREC will handle this situation the best that they can. This is going to be a great litmus test for Chairman Denapoli’s leadership skills. As for Mr. Hamze becoming a member. If Mr. Hamze was not the Executive Director for CAIR I would not have an issue with this. However, he is. Therefore we must start questioning what is CAIR and what are their ties to the Middle East. This could be a wonderful avenue to really dig deep into all of CAIR’s connections. If you are coming to the next meeting start researching CAIR and we can ask Mr. Hamze all sorts of questions about CAIR. Hopefully he will be able to provide us with all the answers that we will seek.

Islamic Republican Club is a contradiction in terms. Islam is antithetical to Republicanism. One is controlling of all aspects of life while the other is for freedom of the individual. No responsible Republican official could tolerate much less authorize such a club using the name of our party.
