Governor Rick Perry’s support for in-state tuition for children of illegal immigrants is now getting the blessing of former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, who always has had a soft spot for a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants in Florida. Governor Bush stated to the National Journal that he thought that Perry’s Texas tuition measure was “fair policy.”
By all accounts, the illegal immigration debate is ready to explode onto the 2012 election season, as many groups, both pro and anti-illegal immigration begin to make their cases for their respective causes. U.S. Senator Marco Rubio was ridiculed several years ago for not helping to pass (6) immigration reform bills that eventually died while he was the Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives.
According to the Journal, in 2003 and 2004, Senator Marco Rubio sponsored a similar bill offering tuition assistance to the children of illegal immigrants. During his 2010 Senatorial campaign, Rubio ran to the right on the illegal immigration issue, and fast became the pro-legal immigration candidate, winning the both the Tea Party and Conservative votes.
“Senator Rubio does not support blanket in-state tuition benefits for students who are in this country illegally. As he said throughout the 2010 campaign and continues to say today, he believes that a consensus exists to help a limited number of young people who were brought here by their parents as young children and have worked hard, exhibited good moral character, and want to contribute to our nation’s future in a meaningful way by becoming part of American society and attending college or joining our armed forces,” said Rubio spokesman Alex Burgos.
As Perry struggles to win back the voters he has lost due to his position on in-state tuition for children of illegal immigrants, many voters and politicos are now focused on what potential Vice Presidential candidate Senator Marco Rubio will say or do in regards to the illegal immigration issue. Rubio is considered to be the #1 choice for VP for all of the Presidential candidates in next year’s general election.
More on this issue to come…

Bushie’s are New World Order Progressive RINO’s. What’s so hard about recognizing that?
Bush the Elder and Younger Killed the Conservative movement in the disastrous wake of their presidencies. No legacy left from them as compared to what Reagan left the Elder.
We are in Feudal Times with these “Elected Elites”. Can them all, find an American for a change,if there are any left.
I agree 100%. My wife has liked Republican. Pres. candidate Herman Cain from early on. I wasn’t really excited about the guy at first. I just didn’t think he was a serious candidate. I was wrong. Originally I supported Bachmann but she has not represented herself very well in the debates. I think we have a few great candidates; Newt is the brightest and deepest thinker in politics today and Herman Cain has the business credentials, the passion, and the balls to take it to Obama and the Congress. I would love to see Newt and Obama sit down and debate, unscripted, for 3-4 hours. I really believe the narcissist Obama would shrivel up and slink back to Chicago. But, Herman Cain is my choice for Pres. because he has business real world experience and brass balls.
Chicago does not want Obomination or his wife. Why does he not go back to Kenya. They may take him back.
You are correct. Support the Tea Party.
My God, I am actually in the same compassionate conservative “club” as Jeb and Rubio?! Well, thank you, Mr. Governor Bush, and thank you, Marco Rubio, Esq. for not joining in with the racists. Heck, I’d even vote for a Rubio V.P. ticket IF and only if his policies are in line with the Catholic Church. Funny how three conservative Catholics, Jeb Bush, myself and Marco Rubio didn’t follow the racists within our own party.
. >.
Rubio is no longer a practicing catholic. Rubio has attended Christ Fellowship, an evangelical Protestant Church in West Kendall, Fla., for the last six years.
He still attends Catholic Mass, according to numerous reports. A fairly recent piece which ran on either NBC or CBS News showed him leaving daily Mass in DC.
I’m not sure what the exact denomination he adheres to has to do with his overall performance as a senator. However, on the one issue that is of importance to all Christians alike, abortion, Marco is most passionately pro-life.
As for the practice of his faith, I live a few blocks from Faith Fellowship and know a number of people who worship there. Marco and his family have indeed been there for 6 years. I have a lovely photo of him during worship there.
A visit to a house of worship does not mean a person necessarily subscribes to that specific church, especially if the person was brought up in that tradition. But sis years is a long time to still be part of the prior tradition, especially when they vary in some very important points.
that being said, any true Christian would be comfortable anywhere that Christ is honored.
Who are you calling a RACIST ??? And what does this policy have to do with the Catholic Church ??
John
Sir, just because you have a D.Min after your name you feel that you have the right to call someone who does not agree with you a racist? I am not sure my God would approve of your mind set. Illegal means just that and if you do not understand it – look it up in the dictionary!
I would much rather have my hard earned money be given to kids wanting to go to college who do not have the money or do not qualify for a scholarship than some one illegal who has NO allegiance to this country.
In addition, you need to do your own research as to what a socialistic education program No Child Left Behind is in the process of “Dumbing Down” our children. It was the prelude to Race To The Top (RTTT) and they are both United Nations education programs straight from the Earth Charter. Disagree with me? Do your own research!
I hope in your capacity you do not have any influence over the young children of our community!
Sean, I totally agree with you about the “racist” comment. However, you should know that NO taxpayer monies are being given to these students. They are only being permitted to enroll in college at the “in-state” tuition rate . . rather than paying “out-of-state” tuition. Anybody from another state who wants to move to Texas and live there 3 years will be given the same rate.
So a legal US citizen has to wait 3 years before they qualify for in-state tuition, but an illegal student can attend right away. You are right it is not Free, but if they are attending a state insitution it is supported by tax dollars. So yes their education is being supplemented by citizens. It boggles my mind that we have so many people that do not see that if they are illegal they are breaking the law. I understand that their parents want better for their children, but it is all started on an act of dishonesty and law violations. A poor way to start a life free in America!
They are taking a seat that could go to an American kid.
Sam, That’s all they got ! The Dems have been lying to minorities for more than 50 yrs and what has it got the minorities? It’s got most of them back to the plantation with little to no education or skills. The only difference between today and a time prior to the Emancipation Proclamation is the chains. Today the chains are forged from welfare, drugs, and illegitimate births. I have a question. If the liberal/progressive Democrat Party is the self-professed party of the poor as it claims and in turn is supported, near unamimously, at the polls by the poor why would the Democrat Party actually want to ever eleviate poverty? Poverty is their power !!
There always has to be a moronic idiot in the crowd with not a drop of common sense… to sling some hate around >> << rob't m king.
If we follow your convoluted logic – we'd have to let anyone break into the USA,, trample pollute & gobble all the rapidly disappearing resources,,,& pay for all their education, food stamps, imprisionment, job training, health care +++ , yes??
There are now 60-70 MILLION hispanics in the USA.
How/when do YOU say STOP – no more? Do YOU then join those who fight to stop the invasion – and become a racist?
Or you're a perfect Catholic "purist",, in favor of letting it continue until we're a 3rd world cesspool?
If Marco goes along with supporting illegals in any fashion it will be the end of his political carrer
You’re neither conservative or Republican.
Furthermore, Hispanic is not a race, it’s an ethnicity therefore the “racist” label is not applicable in this discussion. You’re simply trying to end the discussion by name-calling.
Lastly, there are many Hispanics who wholeheartedly agree with enforcing immigration laws and not giving away the farm to foreign invaders.
Jeb Bush is nothing other than a globalist-Marxist trying to hide himself under the label of Republican and apparently Marco isn’t far behind. Jeb was exposed long ago which is why he will never, ever be able to even consider a run for the Presidency.
As a praciticing Catholic myself, I certainly hope that you don’t occupy any post within any Catholic church in the south Florida. You are an embarrassment.
Both of those guys have a dog in the illegal fight, via wife and parents. Jeb is a progressive bent on world government. Not sure but I think Rubio is just a striving,up coming, Political Science Major. Neither has the mind set to get us back to Constitutional Government.
Well, I’m not sure how the Cubans have any dog in this fight because by definition it is almost impossible to be a Cuban and an illegal.
As far as Jeb, I think it’s more a matter of being a part of the globalist Oligarchy than the lineage of his wife. Lou Dobbs’ wife is also Mexican and I don’t see him abdicating to this degree. I am married to a Hispanic and I could care less, illegal is illegal.
Sorry, but saying “Rubio has a dog in this fight” is painfully uninformed. As the child of LEGAL immigrants, Rubio has never felt the plight of illegals at any point in his life, and can’t possibly care about it any more than any other citizens could. I suspect he might be concerned with the votes of ‘other’ Hispanic groups, thus flip-flopping on the issue. Sad.
Florida Native is very clear on the many issues he/she has discussed – I salute you!
A few other points I’d like to add:
a) RINOS are the puppets of the NWO, and I’m disappointed and angry that Marco Rubio seems to be capitulating to them. I hope I’m wrong.
b) Hispanics are neither a race NOR an ethnicity. Every country in Latin America has a unique culture and racial profile. ‘Hispanic’ and ‘Latino’ are only references to a group of people who *for the most part* share a common language – and this comes from the American need to lump people into a homogenous group for the Census, not reality.
c) Marco Rubio, whose parents were part of the first wave of Cuban immigrants, is a member of the white race, as opposed to the newer Cuban immigrants. He can’t possibly identify with anything other than being white, although if he were to say that, he would be blasted as a racist and a hypocrite by all the ignoramuses. Which is why his possible pandering to illegals should be looked at with suspicion – who is he really trying to please?
I really hope he wakes up and holds firm to his conservative base, otherwise he won’t get any more votes from me.
Everything Obama has done goes against the grain of all the principles on which our country was founded. He has done nothing for us “We the People…”
He has caused us to lose many freedoms and has taken away the entrepreneural spirit and opportunities. His proposed health plan takes away more freedoms and is a very scary plan!
His redistribution of wealth is a disaster. Our people are hurting physically, financially and spiritually due to the lask of leadership he has shown.
I support help for children to attend college but they should first become American Citizens. Yes the families of the children should be hard working and made a contribution for our country. It should not become a give away program. There are many children a hard working US citizens who have not been able to attend college.
The families must be proud of be Citizens of the USA. Why do contunue help persons from other country and education these people who hate this country.
Like burn our flag.
To become American Citizens people need to enter the country LEGALLY. This is exactly what they are trying to abolish, making a mockery and waste of all the people who waited years and spent time and money on attorneys fees, filing papers, going on interviews with the INS, etc.
These “pathways to citizenship” for people who entered the country illegally are a travesty!
I wholehearteldy agree-it is time to ditch ALL the RINOS and take America back. It is truly absurd in the light of two Americans that accidently crossed the Iraq border and were detained for two years and they are lucky they escaped that soon. Not here, we let them bring their kids and they can pay in-state tuition but if you, A REAL LEGAL CITIZEN, are from a neighboring state you pay full price-people how long will we be this STUPID that we let our elected officials get away with this. CLEAN THE HOUSE AND THE SENATE, TOO AND BY ALL MEANS THE WHITE HOUSE.
National Security appears to mean little to Jeb Bush. Supporting illegal people in the United States is a violation of an elected policians oath. Shredding the constitution a grain at a time is working for those of the NWO and unfortunately Jeb Bush falls in line with his father.
Marco Rubio, in my opinion is an encouraging leader as a Senator but he is simply not qualified, verified, in accordance with Article 2, Section 1 of the US Constitution to serve as president/vp…he was born in Florida for sure, but he was born with Cuban and American citizenship under Article 14 of the US Constituion. He is not a “natural born citizen” as his parents were both Cuban citizens at the time of his birth. They applied for naturalization 4-5 years after Senator Rubio’s birth……..we can’t have it both ways. Complain Obama does not meet Article 2 Section 1 of the US Constitution and push Senator Rubio for VP when he does not meet the qualification either…….
Hypocritical at best……..
Marco Rubio was BORN in this country and it doesn’t matter whether or not his parents were Cubans or not. His parents did not enter ILLEGALLY and he was born on US soil.
Obama did not want to show his birth certificate since it might show that he was NOT born in this country.
Quite a difference!!
Pres. Obama’s birthplace of Honolulu Hawaii is still in the United States last time I checked.
Back on topic of illegal immigrants being granted instate tuition discounts when out of state “legal” American citizens cant is just wrong.
Toni, there is NO proof that Barry Soetoro was actually born in HI. His mother was not even in this Country when he was born, an she was not in HI either. She was in Kenya, an the air lines would not let her fly. It was standard protocol for air lines to refuse women that are atleast 8 months preg to fly..
BTW, just because barry, lamestream MSM say that he was born in HI, doesn’t make it the truth…Until he proves who he is, there is NO proof of a HI birth…
Out of state “legal” residents can attend, they just pay higher rates. That is because higher education is being funded with sales tax money. The thought process is that the out of state student never paid any sales tax but the in-state student (and their family) did, there by contributing to higher education funding. It is similar to what was proposed in Florida a number of years ago. Florida higher ed is also funded by sales tax revenues.
I don’t agree with a 3 year time span, but yes I do have a heart and a brain. If a kid goes to school in Florida for 8, 9, or 10 years…does what he is told..studies hard..makes good grades…then why not let them pay in state rates? They probably didn’t ask to be brought to the US and their families spent those 8, 9 or 10 years paying sales taxes and thereby funding higher ed in the state. Even the late Senator Jim King changed his mind about his when he sat down with students and actually heard their stories.
To those opposed, what do you suggest should be done with a child that goes to Florida schools for 12 years (maybe even earning a Bright Futures scholarship)upon graduation?
ILLEGALS SHOULD BE SENT BACK AND COME HERE LEGALLY. WHEN ARE WE GOING DTO QUIT GIVING THE COUNTRY AWAY..SECURE THE BOARDERS BY WHAT EVER MEANS, BRING OUR TROOPS HOME AND THEN SECURE THE BOARDERS WITH THEM AND THE NATIONL GUARD…..LET’S TAKE BACK THE CONSTITUTION AND LIVE BY ITS INTENT. QUIT TRYING TO READ INTO IT THINGS THAT IT DOES NOT SAY OR ELUDE TO……..BB
Bob, Thank you from the bottome of my heart for telling it like it is
We do not need a further drain on our limited government funds. If we are to help people, students or whatever, it should go to American citizens who have paid into the government coffers. Get rid of liberal ideas, even when they come from R’s.
Dreaming of the new North American Union, all the politicos agree from Bushie to Obam/Hilliary, Ricky P.Romney too. Ain’t it great to stop the arguing and be bi-partisan?
Just change the laws to suit the occasion, then it’s Legal to be Illegal and that’s the end of problem.
Is it moral to evade a country’s borders, drop an anchor baby, and become a citizen? Mexico would never allow it!
But the Gringos are so befuddled with communist political correctness they can’t think straight anymore. Why bother? Just re-elect Obama and put us out of our xenophobic misery.
Brother Jeb would not lend his support to anyone who was not fully on board with the Bush Family Agenda.(No Borders, Amnesty, et al) Brother Jeb was the only one to share the stage with Rubio election night. It totally slipped Rubio’s mind that night to even mention, let alone thank, Demint for the help he delivered. That was when it became very clear just who was who behind Marco’s ascent. Just a few short months later he is the darling of those handicapping the veep spot. Interesting.
Be very careful what you wish for… as the saying goes. We may end up wishing it was only the Dream Act slipped in on us while we were distracted.
Sure Bush wants instate tuition for illegals, Half his family is Hispanic.
But why should someone that was born in this country and is a good citizen but lives in Georgia have to pay more to go to USF, university of Fl., university of Miami etc. then someone that should not even be in this country.
In Fact if an illegal is allowed to go to school here, Then the should have to pay a higher fee then anyone else.
Racist. LOL. Liberal is what you are.
Illegal aliens are NOT entitled to the public teat in any way shape or form. Legal US residents from other states need to establish legal residency in FL before being allowed in state tuition. This is a 12 month period and CAN NOT be for the purpose of gaining in state tuition.
We are broke. There are huge changes coming for Bright Futures. Why the HELL would we be giving aid to people who aren’t even entitled to be here WHEN OUR OWN are being asked to pay more?
Pro in state tuition advocates are simply contemptuous of lawful residents and tax payers.
One has to wonder, how deaf can a politician be…
Message to Bush & Rubio: SECURE THE BORDER!
It is a SIMPLE CONCEPT! JUST DO IT!
When did the Government decide to make the decision as to where I gave my support! Whether it be financing someones education or the boy scouts it is my right to decide where my hard earned money goes. To give out student loans…fine. Although, we are not a bank! It is time to say the buck stops here! You want ten children, fine, you take care of them, stop asking me to. We would not be in this mess if people would not expect their neighbors to get them out of the messes of bad judgments they made. When someone crosses the border illegally they become criminals as soon as their foot touches our soil and should be treated as such! When a person builds their home in a flood zone, they know the risk and should assume it, not the tax payer. If you want to take up a collection for that person, great, that is your choice. The American people are a giving nation and we make sure it gets where it is suppose to go, whereas the federal governmnet gives to where it benefits them, usually their own pockets.
Can someone ask both Jeb and Marco this question:
When these illegal aliens finish college, who are you suggesting hire them? Don’t we have laws prohibiting illegal aliens from being hired? Are you suggesting Florida businesses disobey those laws?
Inquiring minds want to know.
Rick Perry lost me as a supporter during the debate when I learned of his position on supporting tuition assistance for illegals. Marco Rubio lost my support when he voted against raising the debt ceiling putting all our seniors and service members in jeopardy of not getting any income. I am now, and have been, a conservative practicing Republican for the past 50 years and I know that there are many more like me who feel the same way. I wouldn’t worry too much about a bid for Rubio to run for any higher office. It’s not the people who are pushing this; it is the “machine”.
Robert, not to be mean, but if you bought that story of a fake debt ceiling crisis, hummm…Even if the government shut(s) down, all would still have gotten paid. The only shut down it would have been, the CONgress, House an Senate, all of Capital Hill…other government offices would have remained open.
The whole debt ceiling crisis was manufactured to scare the public into allowing them to spend us into a 3rd world nation…Me, I would welcome a shut down, because, the last time there was a government shut down, the economy shot up, why, because there was NO politicans was redistrbuting taxpayer money…
I am extremely happy to see our politicians finally understanding what this great Nation of ours is all about, “compassion”, helping others, loving thy neighbor, that was and is the belief of the visionaries and Founders of the United States of America.
It does not matter when did you come to this Country, your great grandparents and their parents were immigrants at one point in their lives, nobody can call themselves “Native American”. It’s time, it’s overdue, there are more than 13 million future American citizens waiting for an amnesty so that they too can enjoy the fruits of their hard work and labor, their kids are waiting, some of them already in college, doing whatever it takes to get an education and contribute in return to this great Nation. GOD BLESS AMERICA. MARCO RUBIO, don’t turn your back, your parents came from Cuba, they were immigrants as well.
Vilma, Rubio’s parents came here “legally”. Simply because one is an immigrant is not the issue. It’s about coming here the way they are supposed to. Want to find out what it means try going to their stinking country and see what you get. Then come back with your moronic self-righteousness.
Vima, are you super rich? You want to pay for them all, well sure, be our guest.
If by chance you are as broke as most of us, then you need take the rose colored glasses off an see the real world for what it is. This is taxpayer money and ILLEGALS, what part of Illegal do you not get? Its not a matter of “helping” thy neighbor, esp when they DON’T HELP US! an I have a right to choose where my money goes an doesn’t go. As for our Founding Fathers, am sure they wouldn’t have allowed this!!!Heck, Thomas Jefferson deported Muslims out of this Country, an you sit there an say that our Founders would have “allowed” this. Wow…someone needs a true history lesson…
Jeb’s wife is Mexican, of course he’s soft on illegals. The Bush family was and is RINO Central. GW Bush’s “compassionate” conservatism was a disaster that led to profligate spending and loss of the House & Senate in 2006, as well as the prolonged excuse the Left milks to blame the GOP for the current $ mess we’re in. If Marco gets squishy on illegals it’ll be a huge mistake. I think he’s smarter than that.
Rubio cannot be President someday because he is an illegal immigrant. He was born in Cuba!
Oh Please! Get a clue!!! Rubio was born in Florida. I can understand the people who feel he is not Constitutionally eligible for the position of POTUS or VPOTUS, although the document is not crystal clear on that and it’s still subject to interpretation. Furthermore, Cubans of the first generation of exiles were NOT illegals!!!
That being said, I’m not sure I’m liking everything that Marco is doing these days and I’m a little worried he might be turning into another RINO. But to say he’s a Cuban-born illegal? That’s just mo*o*nic!
Lily, Sen.Rubio is NOT Constitutionally eligable, he falls under the 14th Amendment as Native Born. Read his Bio, it states that his Mother became a citizen before he was born, BUT,,,his Dad became a citizen AFTER he was born, that right there makes him Ineligable.
Article I Section II Clause V has NOTHING to do with the 14th Amendment. The 14th has to do with immigration an slaves. Nothing more, nothing less.
Article I Section II Clause V only has to do with strict Natural Born, those born on American soil to two Natural Born citizen parents…
Marco Rubio just lost my support. You are either an illegal immigrant or a legal immigrant – you cannot be anywhere in-between. I’m sorry their parents brought them here illegally, but it is the parent’s fault and they should not be rewarded for a criminal act. Let the illegals go back to their countries and enter the way of all other legal immigrants.
“Senator Rubio does not support blanket in-state tuition benefits for students who are in this country illegally. PEOPLE GET A LIFE! GO MARCO!
Fran, Sen.Rubio’s parents came here LEGALLY!!
I voted for Rubio but i don’t think
i will again. if you aren’t fully for this country and it’s people you don’t need to to serve on any thing.
that is what’s wrong with this country now. keep your on down but make your self look big. by helping other country’s make sure their kids go to collage give them every thing. but you have the balls to tell your own people you cant help them. but you sure can bleed them dry so you can keep giving to other country’s. have you got all those bunker’s ready? I am all most 72. but boss I still work so I can help all those people you let come in my country so you can keep giving to others.
As Governor Perry pointed out correctly, it is a “states rights issue.” We must keep in mind that the parents of these children have been paying Florida sales tax and rent on homes that paid Florida property taxes. The kids graduated from Florida high schools. It is a bit different than high school graduate in Pennsylvania, Minnesota or Massachusetts who decided to attend a Florida univerisity. But the key rest with the Florida voters. If the majority want to allow it, then it’s their call.
After they get out of school where will they work? Are you suggesting that the states have the right to tell their businesses they di not have to comply with federal I-9 regulations?
After they get out of school where will they work? Are you suggesting that the states have the right to tell their businesses they do not have to comply with federal I-9 regulations?
Not exactly, Jeff. They do get Federal funding and were paid for with Fed tax money to begin with. But, if states like TX, CA, IL and the others have citizens who vote to give the illegals in their states benefits that are not available to American citizens that live outside of the state then so be it. Let all of the illegals move to the “friendly” states, and let the Feds withhold funding to colleges who discriminate against their own citizens, because, let’s face it folks, that’s what this is. These “institutions of higher learning” were built with Federal funds and the great majority of these illegals are working under the table. But if the people that live in the state want to pony up with their own dollars then I don’t know how the rest of us can stop them. However, we can make sure that we expose the traitors, ie Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, for what they are, and take appropriate measures to ensure their defeat at the ballot box.
Most are just saying if they do go to Florida schools then pay the out of state tuition like georgia people and others because they are not even out of state people, they are out of country people. so as I said before they should NOT pay less, they should pay more.
Jeff Willis got it right….this is an individual state issue.75% of the Texas legislature voted for this ,so the people of Texas spoke.I am personally a Marco Rubio supporter and his position on this does not bother me,although I am not necessarily enthusiastic about it.
To paraphrase Charleton Heston: there will be defacto amnesty, read: any “Dream act”, when they pry the keys from my cold, dead hands! Simply put, these are sneak-thieves who stole their way into this great country in the dead of night. And just like thieves encouraged by American weaknes, read generosity. The time is now! We should open direct talks with Mexico on an orderly repatriation of that “country’s” excess population exported here every god-forsaken day. I use that term advisably since it has more in common with Somalia, Afghanistan, Lebanon and other failed nationstates, than they do with us. Future historians will wrote of this period as the time when the once-great US threw away it’s future in a Chaimberlin-like refusal to see the writing so clearly enscribed on the proverbial outhouse wall! As much as I love “W”, is there some congenital predisposition toward throwing the baby out with the bath water?
Robert King, to have a M.Div and Th.M. and call people racists that are not so, makes me question your “compassionate” faith my friend. Compassion runs to all people, not those who simply follow lock-step what you believe. Whenever I hear people like you constantly call people racists tells me you have no idea what you are talking about, and as such you should shrivel up and go away. It’s about policy, not the color of their skin you moron.
Vilma, Rubio’s parents came here “legally”. Simply because one is an immigrant is not the issue. It’s about coming here the way they are supposed to. Want to find out what it means try going to their stinking country and see what you get. Then come back and tell us what you think.

ANOTHER FRAUDULENT AMNESTY? IT’S NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN?
Contrary to what the open borders and special interest organization say, Mandatory E-Verify is an incredibly urgent deterrent for the American job marketplace, in opposition to the illegal immigration invaders. This federal enforcement program will detect illegal aliens in the workplace, will be very potent verification process of those who being hired and lawfully here. Rep. Lamar Smith of Texas sponsored nationwide E-Verify to hold businesses accountable, for the 8.5 Million already working amongst us. Rep. Lamar Smith’s mandated E-Verify bill H.R. 2885, known as the “Legal Workforce Act” Is now ready for Congress. The American people deserve a President that upholds our laws, instead of bypassing Congress with Executive directives. He must be prepared to protect America from its internal enemies, and sustain the 1986 Immigration laws against all entities who are pushing for wide open borders and allowing uncountable amounts of poverty-stricken–ECONOMIC–people to enter this sovereign nation.
President Obama said today he cannot pass Immigration Reform on his own; it’s truly a bipartisan effort. When you disrespect our immigration laws and then come here and protest for civil right, they are just making the law abiding populace furious—angry with the no—intentional commitment of politicians to serve the public. Instead they have brought and sold America for campaign contributions. We are a sickening country with the loss of jobs, a staggering economy and a hell of a defense bill in other countries, and hundreds of billions of dollars in supporting illegal aliens.
E-Verify will spell-out to illegal aliens from every area of our world; the welcome doormat has been withdrawn as we cannot afford them anymore. Highly skillful immigrants should be expedited through the system, but others who are predisposed to become public taxpayer charges must be turned away. The millions of non-lawful immigrants will recognize they cannot enter America with impunity and that if they cannot get hired, then why smuggle their families and children here who predominantly are uninsured and have no means of financial support. These individuals use our own laws against us to wreak havoc with our limited emergency health care service or clog our schools with their children, that don’t speak English in the majority of cases. In the last few decades they have been fortunate to find criminal companies to employ them, but when E-verify is enacted finding a job won’t be so easy.
WHEN MANDATORY E-VERIFY SYSTEM BECOMES A FEDERAL LAW, I PREDICT THAT MORE AMERICAN WORKERS OR OTHER INFORMANTS WILL BECOME WHISTLE-BLOWERS AND CALLING ICE ON SUSPICIOUS BEHAVIOR, CONFIRMING ILLEGAL ALIENS. THE ICE DIVISION TO CALL IS 1-866-DHS-2ICE (866-347-2423).
Agents are very courteous and are in attendance to listen to your observations you have noted. They need no personal information other than a report, so they can make a determination on a thoroughly investigating any episode. So instead of complaining on a blog, contact ICE and make your voices known, to make a disparity in this migration and immigration crisis. Therefore–over the years many will leave–part of the 20 million plus illegal aliens previously homesteaded here, will remain in enforcement purgatory. If you want more truthful information it’s predicated at NumbersUSA, Judicial Watch and American Patrol, who provide insight reporting. The free cornucopia for foreign nationals will be over, and we can start, including the foothold citizen babies; we supplement 300.000 these pregnant mothers annually with welfare and public assistance programs–that even US families cannot get for free, including subsidized housing.
THIS GOES BEYOND INCOMPREHENSIBLE, when American citizens and lawful residents are not eligible and yet taxpayers forfeited money to pay for illegal alien public services. With a reduction of these illegal children and babies, billions of dollars can go to our warriors, our old folk and homeless, not to criminal aliens. Illegal Immigration have been in the ball court of the special interest entities for years, but voters can bring this to an end in the 2012 elections. A President influenced by the TEA PARTY such as Herman Cain, Michelle Bachmann or any straight talker who will contain the spread of big government, dump the current Tax Code and begin anew. America has become a nation of government regulation; not just federal, but State, county and local, so how can any person be expected to create a new business when burdened down with layers of laws.
The propagating TEA PARTY will enforce the 1986 Immigration Control and Reform act and not dismantle it. Amnesty will not be passed or any form of Immigration reform and Sanctuary Cities will become a thing of the past, that will stop Mayors and Police Chiefs from catering to foreign nationals. GOP Politician Rick Perry a contender for the presidency has shown his Democratic tendencies, by giving illegal aliens academic in-state tuition. This would be a forerunner of his future intentions in the White house, of being soft to criminal entry.
As another thought, outside independent groups should ask Baptists, Catholics and other faith group congregation members separately, to enquire on their immigration stance. Union members should subtly ask the same questions, but with a different approach, so they can give an honest opinion away from prying eyes? When not being intimidated by the church overlords and the union masters, you will certainly get a different answer.
NO LAWMAKER WHO IS FORESEEN AS SOFT ON IMMIGRATION IS IN FOR A HARD TIME GETTING ELECTED IN THE FUTURE. WE NEED A PRESIDENT AND CONGRESS, WHO RESPECTS OUR LAWS, WHO AMENDS OUR LAWS TO MAKE ENTRY INTO OUR SOVEREIGN COUNTRY A FELONY. ONLY THE TEA PARTY WILL DO EVERYTHING TO SAFEGUARD OUR NATION FROM UNFETTERED ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.
Just today US District judge Blackburn in Alabama also upheld provisions that require schools to check the immigration status of students, nullify contracts signed by illegal aliens, and makes it a felony for illegal aliens to apply for a license plate, driver’s license, or business license. Unlike rulings made by a federal district court and circuit court of appeals on Arizona’s SB1070, Judge Blackburn upheld the provision that allows police officers to ask for proof of legal status during routine police stops.
Blackburn’s order temporarily blocked four parts of the law until she can issue a final ruling. Those measures would:
•Make it a crime for an illegal immigrant to solicit work.
•Make it a crime to transport or harbor an illegal immigrant.
•Allow discrimination lawsuits against companies that dismiss Citizens and legal residents while hiring illegal immigrants.
•Forbid companies from taking tax deductions for wages paid to workers who are in the country illegally.

If Jeb or Marco think it is right to give my hard earned tax money to illegals or their children I am disappointed in both of them. However right now I am focused on putting a real conservative in the White House. My choice is Herman Cain. What a hoot to watch the media controllers in a tizzy about how this man whom they totally ignored could win Florida’s straw poll.

I am confused? Where does the issue of racism play in this discussion? This is a simple principle that transcends race, party or religious status. It is the principle of right and wrong. If these students are illegal that means there are breaking the LAW. (this is wrong). It is also wrong for anyone to express that a person “does not have a heart” if they disagree with this violation of the law. I am a seven generation American, who is working hard, putting their 5th child (an eight generation American ) throught college. I have 2 grandchildren ( 9th generation Americans) that will attend college too, if there is still room. We all have and will follow the laws of in-state tuition. All are legal in this country. I have a heart, a heart for America. When you come to America, you do it legally, speak English and hang the American Flag like my family did 7 generations ago!
You people are slaves to the GOP.There are more registered Independents than registered GOP and DNC combined. This was why the GOP Politicians and GOP Consultants had to hi jack the Tea Party Idea.
They have enough people convinced they have to hold their nose and vote for anyone but Obama. This is the GOP’s only vision. With that kind of fear promoted as your reason to vote is why Obama still has a chance to win.
Remember the Pledge to America ? How many things has the GOP accomplished from that Pledge ? How many issues has the GOP beat Obama and the democrats on since Obama has been in office ? I have counted zero.
We need to hear from those thousands of Citizen Candidates who ran for office in 2010 and could not get an opportunity to share their message in the Left or Talk Media. They deserved the right to stand or fall on their own merit, not be squelched by only GOP Candidate being endorsed by the National Tea Party GOP Groups.
2010 may have been the last election the People had to take their country back from the 2 Party Political Rule.If there is another chance in 2012,then the GOP and their Media needs to be rejected NOW,time is short.
Demand the GOP Politicians answer questions about Executive Order 12803,NAFTA and the NO VOTE history on these issues.Ask Marco Rubio why he sat on the Immigration Bill 6 times not allowing it to come up for a vote. Ask Senator where did he get the “he believes that a consensus exists to help a limited number of young people who were brought here by their parents as young children and have worked hard, exhibited good moral character.” That poll does not exist. Ask Mr.Rubio about his wonder speech against President Obama’s Debt Limit Increase, and then he did a NO VOTE when the Bill came up for a vote ? Obama had a long history of NO VOTES and no one knew what his political views and policy was.
Do a search of the Dream Act in history and see all the Republicans who have supported the Dream Act,but notice it is always the “democrats.” Do the same search on the GOP and the Fairness Doctrine, and remember how the GOP blames the DNC. After what I saw Talk Radio do in 2010 to systematically squelch the voices of so many citizen candidates, they lost their credibility.
Ya’ll keep believe’n like slaves and see where that get the country ?
Kim,You did not read what I said.I critize the GOP from the perspective of being a register republican for 26 years (1978-2004).There is not much difference in the 2 parties. The DNC’s agenda is clear, and the GOP is deceptive about it’s Socialism. Please read what you disagreed with me Kim ? Especially the part about I did not know what I’m talking about when it comes to the 1994 Cantract with the America.Below is the first Promise in the Contract With America. Please look at what it said and what they did ? You will get a copy of the CWA. Please call Newts’s office and ask him to send you a list of which points were passed and which failed ?
I am going through the 1994 CWA content and consequences. The very first promise Newt made, did not pass and he will not talk or answer questions about it.
Let me ask you, could you honestly teach your children not to lie, and enforce those same values as a grandparent, and tell me,or your children and their children Newt Gingrich, and all the politicians who promised to make a law to live by the same laws ‘We the People” live by and then did not pass it, are honorable ? And making such a promise knowing the Constitution does not already grant the politicians an Exemption of the laws we are governed by,could you call these politicians men of humility ? Could you vote for Newt if he is the last man standing to face Obama in 2012 ?
If a person could be convinced he has to vote for Newt, then he would have to admit his values were never really important enough to believe in. He should apologize to his children. If a parent ever went through measures to further cement the value of ‘do not lie’ and “humility rather than arrogance” in the child’s conscience, then great remorse should accompany the apology. As any level of discipline to get such a value into the soul of their children as guidance and protection in life would prove also to be a lie and is something the child will not see in American Culture.
“We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.

In 1994 Newt Gingrich won more R’s than D’s in the mid-term elections, gaining a majority in both houses for the first time since 1953. His promise to bring up every item for a vote in 100 days was fulfilled on day 97. These are the only points Mr.Gingrich and other GOP and GOP Media supporters celebrate, they never talk about the promises that passed or failed,or the consequences of them.I hope people will learn about the 1994 CWA ?
In the resent Fox/Google Presidential Debate Newt Gingrich promised another Contract With America.I have several problems with another empty promise. The US Constitution is THEE Contract With America.
The Newt Gingrich 1994 CWA proffered one promise that the GOP would prove is their true attitude. They promised to make a law that, the politicians would live by the same law the people live by.This promise,or should I say this lie, could not get enough support,so it failed.
FIRST, require all laws that apply to the rest of the country also apply equally to the Congress;
Regarding The Dream Act:
Are we a nation of law or are we not?
Where have all the leaders gone?
How do we address this issue effectively based on law first, for without that starting point, ‘LAW’, the potential for divisiveness, volatility and sure to be politically, the exploitation and the pandering for votes by self serving politicians and special interest groups will further inflame and polarize us as a nation.
By granting something as this, is this not a form of reverse discrimination on legal citizens?
Think about this, how many, either state or federal law activities/transactions etc, can anyone come up with that simply would impact existing law to engage or participate, if one is not legally a citizen of the USA?
Lastly, even if a potential student graduates….they remain technically still illegal are they not?
There may exist avenues in place that may ease this issue somewhat such as any student either from illegal parents or by their on accord, who remain illegal after all these years must include and mandated courses that lead to legalization for American Citizenship before any degree is granted.
Another ‘imposition’ would be that any student give back to the state some form of payback such as completion of military service, community service etc., and a time allowed to be fulfilled, if not completed then no degree granted and payback in order, and if that not accomplished penalties, fines, or imprisonment in place.
Lightweight, wow what a liberal spew…”GOP did this, they did that, hey you forgot to research true facts, seems you got your info from the progressives, nice talking points, did lamestream tell you what to say.
As for NAFTA, did you forget that it was a Democrat who signed that Bill into law, by golly, it was Bill Clinton!! Wondering, do you know there are RINO’S in DC? Do you even know what a RINO is?
BTW, what part of Illegal don’t you get? This Country must put a stop to the INVASION..Best for you to research true fact an numbers of how much this Country and states pay for the invasion of illegals, that comes out of taxpayers pockets!
Do you know anything about the tea-party? Did you know that NO GOP or any politican created or funds an run the tea-party? Try your lie again, but make sure you get it right the next time, because true fact, its the democrats that you spewed about, you only changed it to make it look like its the GOP…typical liberal tactic…
I am sure a lot of his spanish wife’s family would love this. How many Americans could NOT send their children to collage, but knowing your taxes are paying for illegals to go to collage…. What part of Illegal do these assholes NOT understand……
His wife is not *Spanish*, she’s Mexican!
Are you English?!!!
Wow, we are still missing the most important thing here, that these people are here ILLEGALLY. What don’t you understand. We have the most liberal enforcement of our immigration laws in the world. If you want to change the law thats fine with me, but as of now the illegals need to stand in line and apply like the hundred’s of thousands of new legals are doing and have done. Why should children of illegals get any kind of tuition benefit. We are just encouraging illegal actions.
My dream act was the GI Bill that helped out a little. Bush and Rubio need to get off giveaways, Politicians seldom do. I am sad that these young people can’t get a good education because their parents violated the law and escaped from poverty to feed off taxpaying US Citizens. BUT, there are more US Citizens who can’t afford what we are giving away. Sorry I’m for the US Constitution first my family a close second and if I have anything to spare which I usually don’t then comes relatives and others CITIZENS in need. Not dogs, the green party, the funds for the safety and preservation of children in other countries. We have that in this country.
For starters, the Texas decision was a states rights issue. The fact that only four legislatures dissented shows what the people of Texas thought. On 10th amendment grounds, they had that option. The bigger question comes down to the fact that the students were still in the country illegally. For political reasons, it is expected that opponents of Governor Perry would make a stir. The Texas lawmakers were in sinc on the circumstances. Perry’s opponents were not. The real question is “do we throw out the baby with the bathwater?”
Governor Romney thinks so. So does Senator Santorum. And Congresswoman Bachman. Fortunately there are some fair minded people left such as Governor Bush and Senator Rubio!
My prediction is Perry will ultimately win back temporarily lost conservatives. The GOP base isn’t stupid! Republicans must win 40% of the Hispanic vote to win the general elction. Governor Perry did that in the previous Texas Govervors race. His conviction displayed in the debate, even knowing that he would be scrutinized by the GOP base was an act of character. It reflected the attitude held by almost all Texans: that these students were considered “Texans” and being treated as such.
A “clique driven state on the far left fringes” such as Massachusetts is not capable of delivering a candidate who represents all of America, not to mention the Republican party.
That’s why I do think that Mitt Romney has a “chance in hell” of beating Barack Obama. He’s likely blown it with Hispanics. He never connected with Blue Collar Democrats. Evangelicals simply don’t trust him. He’s toast! If Republicans want another four years of Barack Obama, they should support Mitt Romney for President.
hey, jeff willis
i as a citizen of america and god fearing american, think you are on the wrong side of what you are talking about, time for you to sit back and think about you are saying, why should we be worried about the pecentage of other than our own citizens of the united states of america?you evidently are not a gunho american, as you worry to much about others.
time to wake up and smell the coffee.
Wow! Some pretty harsh comments all around. I would really love to see some straight-forward debate/discussion rather than posturing on any point on this spectrum of viewpoints.
After reading most of the posts prior to this one, I noticed a few things –
1. Money’s the issue with immigration (dream act or other) based on the numerous comments about how “tax-payers” are being unfairly burdened. (funny, security didn’t come up much.)
2. The terms legal and illegal are being used blanketedly – many immigrants currently here illegally, entered the U.S. legally.
3. If you look to these comments, illegal immigration in the U.S. is 100% a phenomena of culturally Spanish speaking nations. (Although admittedly, about 60% is from Mexico – our neighbors.)
4. Too much wasted time on polarized stances following “party philosophies” and less time spent actually talking about the issues of immigration across the board.
Just some thoughs: (general & somewhat simplistic – not exhaustive)
1. If we do away with all taxes (property, income, state, etc.), and maybe have a flat sales tax (whether it’s run through the states or Feds or both), then even illegals will essentially be “paying into the system.” For most commenting here, this would level the playing field. Crazy, but then all students would just pay what the college was charging. Now, concerning the morality of illegal immigration – the actual right and wrong of physically entering or remaining in the country, hmmm? Regarding security, hmmm? (The last few “non-Hispanic” LEGAL immigrants were Muslim terrorists).
2. Many illegal immigrants entered legally, but remained here, thus changing their status. Some have taken their cases to the courts. In which case, they are granted “temporary” rights to remain in the U.S., and have essentially adhered to the law. Others, are not trying to make legal arrangements to remain in the U.S. Yet others, are criminals (some of which are detained and/or deported). Again, most comments above, make points about the jobs and the money these immigrants take from “legals.” So, refer back to point #1. P.S. – Sometimes what began as “illegal” changes. There are immigration laws that should be changed for valid reasons, and would impact many legals and illegals.
3. About 20% of the U.S. Illegal immigration is from non-Spanish speaking nations/countries. Many come fleeing persecution and/or war, or lack of resources (abject poverty). Sometimes the need to flee necessitates “illegal” actions. I wonder how many Jews were going to ask for visas from the Germans? Further, does the way one enters the country necessarily determine their “value” in terms of “good or bad?” Keep in mind that 100% of those born in the U.S. can trace their lineage back to an immigrant (many of which were illegal because coming here hadn’t become a crime yet – before money got in the way). Once again, we have just as many “bad guys” who are natives or legal immigrants.
4. No easy fix here. The rhetoric of “party” needs to change, though. WE, the people, the voters, need to be informed about the specifics, challenge those running to hold to their word, and actively participate in ISSUES respectfully. Immigration is not a one-size-fits-all situation, and should not be treated as such. Every family or individual entering the U.S. has unique circumstances. All Americans value their individuality and autonomy, why should we treat anyone else as if they deserve less? Our considerations should be measured and thoughtful – viewed generally and less self-centeredly.
Lots to think about and much to do…as usual!
Hoping God will continue to direct our thinking…and lead us aright.
