U.S. Senator Marco Rubio, along with Senators John McCain, Lindsey Graham and Mark Kirk have flown to Libya on an offical visit to assess the ongoing political and military struggle which has gripped the country ever since civil war broke out several months ago. On a live telephone call from Malta, Senator Rubio briefed the press on his trip to Libya
Here is the Senator Rubio’s press announcement regarding his trip to the region:
“This morning, Senator Rubio arrived in Libya on an official visit.
Senator Rubio is part of a congressional delegation that includes Senators John McCain, Lindsey Graham and Mark Kirk.
On Wednesday, they visited Malta where they met with Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi to discuss Malta’s ongoing efforts to facilitate Libya’s transition to democracy and life after Qaddafi.
Today, the delegation will spend the day in Libya meeting with key officials, including members of the Transitional National Council (TNC). They will also be holding a press conference later today. TV stations wishing to obtain this video should be able to access it through CNN and other networks that are expected to cover the press conference in Libya. As we receive photos from the trip, we will pass them along.
Furthermore, this afternoon, at 4:30 p.m. EDT, Senator Rubio will be hosting a conference call with Florida media while he is abroad. We will have the call-in details later this morning.

I certainly hope that Senator Rubio does not catch whatever RINO germs McCain & Graham have. To say that I am disappointed on his choice of traveling companions would be an understatement.
Well said .. I had the same reaction when I read and posted on Rubio’s Facebook posting regarding the trip … Marco needs to stay strong and resist the RINO’s.

C’mon Chopper…I was thinking more along the lines of the John -n- Lindsey show coming back with a clear understanding what a Conservative Republican really is. Both would step down from their posts and have the likes of Joe Wilson (SC) and Russell Pearce (AZ)take their places.
of course you conservatives conveniently and quickly forget that not too long ago you were all kissing gaddafi’s ass in an effort to get a share of his loot. hypocrites!
What is a trip to Libya going to do for Florida? McCain and Rubio should stay home and fix our problems. There is nothing in Libya that can’t wait as there is nothing viable there now nor anything we can do at this point.
Libya will go the way of Egypt.

I have no objection to Mr Rubio’s companions. This is insignificant compared to his foreign affairs exposure in preparation for a possible vice-presidential selection.
I agree with you Frank…these are my thoughts exactly. We didn’t send Rubio to Washington to further his own political ambitions. We sent him there to represent Floridians, not Libians.
Unfortunately, I think Chopper is right. I received this reply from Sen. Rubio last week, and it smacks of political tapdancing.

Rubio is already a Rino.You can not name what he has done ? You know what he has said,but you do not know his record,or lack of a record. He did a wonderful economic speech blasting Obama’s debt increase and then when the Bill came up for a vote,he was a NO VOTE.Reminds me of Obama’s history of NO VOTES that made it hard to know what his views are. Do you know how many times he did not let the Immigration Bill come as a State Senator ? 6 Times. Maybe his resent vote for declaring Cinco DeMayo Day being a YES might give you a clue.Marco Rubio replaced Mel Martinez.Remember ringing the phones in D.C. on immigration and then Mel getting out of D.C. early so he would not be around in 2008 to remind people how much he had lied.GOP is looking for minds that do not think.You’ll need to get your news form the Record and not the GOP Media.
Rubio cannot be president or vice president. He does not qualify. Even though he was born in the USA his parents were citizens of Cuba at the time of his birth; therefore, he (like Obama) does not Constitutionally qualify.
He has no business being in Libya but hey, its a free trip on the taxpayers dime. Screw the taxpayer! We need to learn that congress is royalty and we are the peasants who work to support their elegant life style.
Rubio is a RINO. He was against Arizona’s immigration bill at first and then when he saw the way the wind was blowing, he quickly back-tracked.

Libya, like Iraq, is a big mistake. Moreover, the USA has no money except for the printing presses.
Rubio being in Libya is completely unhelpful to the problems of our time. Libya only consumes taxpayer money.
A politician will always be a politician. What did that useless trip cost us. If your house is on fire do you go on vacation.
