  1. Vicki Hinze says:

I’d be honored to vote for Allen West for the Senate.

For me, it’s anyone but Nelson, who IMHO has voted on the wrong side of near every issue for the past two years.

  2. Mike says:

Mr West would easily beat Nelson for Senate. Is there any real chance he would run?

Mr West, if you are reading this story… RUN FOR SENATE!! Please, your state and country needs you.

Besides, this would put him in the perfect position to run for President in 2016.

  3. Anon Ymous says:

Please don’t promote Rubio as a possible VP or future President, he does not constitutionally qualify… he is not a “natural born citizen”. His parents were “residents” of the USA when he was born, they were not citizens when he was born.

    • Carol says:

If Marco Rubio was born in this Country he is a U.S. citizen regardless of his parents status. This is an immigration issue we need to consider as a Country. People come from all over the world to have their children born here so they can have U.S. citizenship.

      • Anon Ymous says:

Yes, Rubio is a citizen. However, because his parents were not citizens at the time of his birth, he is therefore not a “natural-born” citizen (one that is born on USA soil AND to two USA citizen parents). And therefore he does not qualify to be President or Vice President according to the US constitution (Article II, section 1, paragraph 5 – and amendment 12, last sentence).

        • Lon says:

How come the Republicans have to follow the law and the “Tyrannical Socialist Obamacrats” don’t. I just asking!

        • Anthony Miller says:

I am not sure where you came up with your own definition of “natural-born” citizen but nowhere does it state that one has to be born to two US Citizen parents thus making Sen. Rubio eligible for both the Presidency and the Vice Presidency of this great nation.

“The Constitution does not define the phrase natural-born citizen, and various opinions have been offered over time regarding its precise meaning. The Congressional Research Service has stated that the weight of scholarly legal and historical opinion indicates that the term means one who is entitled under the Constitution or laws of the United States to U.S. citizenship “at birth” or “by birth,” including any child born “in” the United States (other than to foreign diplomats serving their country), the children of United States citizens born abroad, and those born abroad of one citizen parent who has met U.S. residency requirements.”

“In addition to historical and textual analysis, numerous holdings and references in federal (and state) cases for more than a century have clearly indicated that those born in the United States and subject to its jurisdiction (i.e., not born to foreign diplomats or occupying military forces), EVEN TO ALIEN PARENTS, are citizens at birth or by birth, and are natural born, as opposed to naturalized, U.S. citizens. There is no provision in the Constitution and no controlling American case law to support a contention that the citizenship of one s parents governs the eligibility of a native born U.S. citizen to be President. The weight of legal and historical authority indicates that the term natural born citizen would mean a person who is entitled to U.S. citizenship by birth or at birth, either by being born in the United States and under its jurisdiction, EVEN THOSE BORN TO ALIEN PARENTS; by being born abroad to U.S. citizen-parents; or by being born in other situations meeting legal requirements for U.S. citizenship at birth.”

      • Walker says:

AnonYmous is correct. Rubio is not qualified to be president, because a candidate must be a “natural born” citizen. . . .which means both parents were citizens of the US when he was born. Yes, I know , that means Obama does not qualify. I knew that when he ran . . but no one would challenge it. He, O, is not qualified and should never have been allowed on the ballot.
I am shocked at the number of people who do not know that the President has to be the child of two American citizens. I was taught that in grade school. I like Rubio, but he is not qualified. . . .and he knows it.
However, I agree, West should run for the Senate . . . . Go West!!

    • noczars says:

@anonymus= PLEASE go away. Besides, aren’t you busy playing robin hood?

  4. harry houdini says:

    ??????????????

  5. Ken says:

The Republican candidates for Senate are all good men, but Allen West would add excitment to the race and he could win.

Bill Nelson has been a disappointment as a Senator, and it seems he can only do one thing – rubber stamp the Obama agenda.

    Go West

  6. Kelly says:

Who can beat Nelson? All of the above. The democratic money will be spread thin plus being attached to Obama will be a big loser in Florida. This is what primaries are for — to determine the strong horse. West has got to be seriously looking at this. His new house district lines are drawn solidly in favor of the D’s thanks to the Soros funded ballot measure no one bothered to really check out in 2010 that is re-drawing districts generally to the D’s advantage.

    It’s going to get interesting!

  7. Max says:

What a stupid article. Most Florida voters don’t even know who they are going to vote for President next month, let alone the Senatorial vote in 8 months. But you can bet that ANY Republican will win the general election over Obama and I’m sure the same will be true for defeating liberal/Commie Nelson. By the way, you omitted 2 candidates who are polling higher than Hasner.

  8. Boca Spin Doctor says:

your prediction was printed before Mack jumped into the race. Look how far ahead he is polling over single digits Lemieux and Hasner.

  9. Gen Early says:

West was always my first choice for US Senate, with Hasner second. Mack=Mel Martinez ugh!

  10. Cherieo says:

Come, come now. Let’s not get ANOTHER Republican into the mix to run against Nelson. Connie Mack IS the candidate to run against Nelson and send him packing so let’s not NOW go out there and get another line up in this race too! Too many have been in the race for Republican presidential contenders; so don’t now to the same in this race. I like Allen West and I would support him in another run…but Florida NEEDS Connie and Marco in the Senate. We have some really good candidates for a SOLID NEW ADMINISTRATION when whoever the Republican nominee might be for President. So, let’s not screw things up here…ok?????

  11. Rose Rauschkolb says:

The real sad part is that I read the Florida Democrat Party submitted 7 Redistricting Maps for consideration while the Republican Party submitted none?? Why are the Republicans always left with “catch up”, on the “defense”, etc. Are there no LEADERS and IDEA PEOPLE in the Republican Party? God help us! RMR

    • Markus says:

Dear Rose, The Florida House and Senate are making redistricting maps for Congress districts. You may be confusing this with the county commission redistricting.

  12. Lovejoy says:

I too, would be honored to vote for Allen West, for any office he chooses to run for.
However, if he wants to run for Senator, he’d best start soon, as it seems Mack has the nomination sewn up.

  13. Chopper says:

I’d vote for West in a heart beat! All of the others — it’s anybody but Harry Nelson/Bill Reid.

  14. Marian says:

Allen West is our best hope for President 2012

  15. mateo says:

don’t want 2 lose Allen West as my Congressman….so I am with Connie Mack 2 beat Nelson :)

    • lou conde says:

Wet would surely retain his seat in the House. If he ran for the Senate he could NOT run for re-election. He has been in office a very short time. Stay where you are,Allen.

  16. Gidget Cali says:

i have great respect for Allen West especially his service to our country. He is a very strong man who says what he means and means what he says. I only hope he will change his mind and run for the senate. He would definitely have my vote.

    • A.Lutz says:

Cali – I agree with you that Allen West is a very strong man who stands for all great Americn principles and like you said, he says what he means and means what he says. It’s time to get rid of Sen. Bill Nelson, the decades old leftwing Democrast like Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz who votes against any logical conservative issues, yet he votes for entitlement programs, Immigration Amnesty, Dream Act, ObamaCare and for illegal aliens costing taxpayers $113 billion per year as they steal our jobs and services and outrageous Sen. Nelson votes constamntly for all these tax squandering issues stealing our jobs and services. If Sen. Nelson used any logical sense, he would back the E-Verify Bill. The E-Verify Bill would require all employers to use the Department of Homeland Security E-Verify system that conncts an employer to the Social Security database who checks the Social Security numbers the employer gives them from persons applying for a job. The Social Security Administration Verify’s the S.S. number as being good, fraudulent or stolen S.S. number and gives the employer a verification within only 2 minutes with a 98 percent accuracy efficiency rating. A. LUTZ

  17. Gidget Cali says:

I have great respect for Allen West for the seervice to our country. I am FL and would vote for Allen West for senate. Please Allen change your mind. We need you.

  18. A.Lutz says:

AnonYmous- I agree with you. U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio must not be picked as a V.P. Republican Presidential Candidate because he was not born as a legal U.S. citizen. Rubio was an “anchor baby” born to non-U.S. citizen Cuban parents that only had a “Legal Permanent Resident Alien” immigration status card. Meaning Rubio’s parents were not yet U.S. citizens when Marco Rubio was born. So, I wouls hope that Rubio would announce that he is “not qualified” to run for the Vice President’s seat because Rubio wass born as a “non-citizen”.

    • lou conde says:

An “anchor” baby, when he becomes 18, can sponsor his “illegal” Mother to come to this country. We are all aware that”anchor” babies become U.S. citizens when they are born here. So Marco CAN run for President.

      • Walker says:

Lou Conde, please go read the constitution, AnonYmous is right. It’s really not that difficult to understand . . .the President AND Vice President must be “natural born” citizens. Which means BOTH their parents had to be citizens at the time of their birth. It is the only political office that requires. When you post about anchor babies being eligible for President . . .you are only showing your ignorance.

  19. Jaymickdee says:

Anyone who advocates Allen West for President in 2012 is someone who knows nothing about politics and how things work. It’s too late, and he’s too new. 2016? If Obama wins in 2012 West would be one of the best choices to take on whatever Democrat tries to succeed him. That’s why he should run for the Senate now. He would win, and in 4 years he’d have enough experience in the Senate that he could could explain to Floridians that he has to forgo his last 2 years and save the nation from total ruin, if Obama hasn’t managed to accomplish that in his last 4 years in office.

West is the kind of man we need to lead this nation, and taking a seat in the Senate in 2012 would be a great start.

  20. Jacqueline L says:

I like and respect Allen West and would work for and vote for him in any election! That said I believe we all must set aside differences and vote AGAINST Bill Nelson here in Florida and Barak Obama on the national level.
IT IS SAD BUT TRUE THAT FOR OUR SURVIVAL OUR VOTES MUST BE AGAINST OBAMA’S LIBERAL, REPUBLIC HATING CREW!

  21. BillieUSA says:

Dear COngressman West: Please run for the senate! We need you! PLEASE PLEASE declare you are available!

  22. Beezle says:

How can anyone even consider voting for this guy. He’s no different than what’s already up there. The very first time he had to stand up and show he was someone who actually cared for his constituency he showed is true colors. He voted to increase the debt ceiling thereby voting to pass the next $1.2 trillion addition we will be paying for in the next couple of months. On top of that he turned his back on the very voters who put him in office and called them schizophrenic. He needs to be voted out of office the next time he runs for anything. What short memories voters have. That’s how we got ourselves into this mess. Let’s start working to dig ourselves out. There have to be people out there that we can put in office who are ethical and will stand by their campaign promises.

  23. Dan O says:

As #1 on my small list of political contributions, I would fully support a Congressman West for Senate bid.

  24. Perseids says:

One thing for sure, I’ll have no part in the coronation of another blue blood squishy republican. Mack must feel it is his birthright to ascend to daddy’s seat. Kinda brings the Bush clan to mind. One Mack was more than enough for me. If I’m going to be stabbed in the back better it come from an enemy who is, at least, honest about whose side their on. I’ve had my fill of spineless so called republicans. We need Conservatives, republicans at this point are part of the problem.

  25. noczars says:

I was ready to vote for Allen West for President. However, after listening to the reason West gave to Glenn Beck, I really respect West’s response. However, Allen West did NOT say he would not run for The Senate. Get his name on there and he will win.

  26. Marian says:

ALLEN WEST IS THE BEST HOPE TO BEAT OBAMA !

  27. Kinikia says:

Allen West is our best hope to defeat Barack Obama in 2012. We need him as our Commander in Chief desperately.

Please take a look at The Blaze today (January 2nd, 2012)
    http://www.theblaze.com/

A bold headline at the top of the site states:
As heard on Beck radio: One last plea for Allen West to run for President
    http://pjmedia.com/zombie/2011/12/28/barack-obama-will-still-be-president-on-january-19-2017/

We need him to change his mind before it is too late.

  28. howardfrombroward says:

it’s ten at night. who do you want watching out for your mom and kids? allen west or bill nelson? it’s ten in the morning and you are making a pay check deposit at the bank. who do you want watching out for your money, allen west or barack obama? 11/2012, it’s high noon in america and you’d better remember to vote in the next election to overcome all those illegal ballots cast by aliens that deranged and corrupt atty general eric holder refuses to disallow.

  29. Betty says:

no he needs to run for the white house.

  30. I THINK ALLEN WEST COULD JUST AS EASILY BEAT OBAMA. LETS START
A DRAFT FOR A RUN FOR PRESIDENT. HE’S FRESH CHOICE COMPARED TO
RETREADS LIKE ROMNEY, SANTORUM OR EVEN NEWT.

  31. Mike says:

I think Allen West should hurry up and make his decision. I would vote for him. But it is not certain he will become re-elected as a congressman according to a recent poll, So he should run for senate ASAP.

  32. Patricia Feola says:

    You have my vote.
I firmly, emphatcally and 100% agree with everything, word for word that you said regarding the policies and statements made by obama, pelosis and the rest of their Un American team.
That bunch, the moronic wall street protestors, the liberal newscasters, and the illegal immigrants can ALL move away, far away.

    Thank you for your comment.
Thank you for protecting the United States.

You are appreciated by many. Patricia Feola
