That sounds extremely vague, wake me up when Rubio starts openly challenging/criticizing Senate/House leadership.

    • Rich says:

Before too long they’ll be fighting over who’s the “true conservative”……….LOL!!

    • Rich says:

Maybe you haven’t figured it out yet but he’s found out what a cushy job he has and is not going to make waves and take a chance at losing the “Cadillac” benefit programs that he wants YOU to give up.
When will you folks get real. These guys are politicians and are in it for THEMSELVES and only pay lip service to you.
They answer to their big donors, big business and the wealthiest among us.
The tea partiers in the House passes all sorts of ridiculous bills that they knew would never pass through the Senate yet did absolutely NOTHING to help create jobs like they all said in their campaigns.

      • Doc says:

Well, it’s a start, at least they speak for the people.
To accomplish anything substantial they will need the majority in Congress. It may be similar to the “first-responder” situations at emergencies, they need back-up.
At least good people step-forward in times of crisis.

      • FLChristyB says:

Name one ‘ridiculous’ Bill that they passed? They have been working to get our economy moving and the Demorats in the Senate are the ones holding up progress. When Odumbo starts his chant about the economy tanking because of a ‘do nothing’ Congress, we need look no further than Scary Reid and his Socialist lemmings in the Senate!

The Dems have held the Congress since 2007! Every move they have made has been cynical and self serving. They have done nothing but work to destroy our economy and our Nation, cramming through legislation that has given them more power and slowly undermines the Constitution and our liberty. WE MUST fill both houses with Conservatives if we ever hope to continue our Constitutional Republic and to retain our freedoms and regain our economic strength!!

    • Jacqueline L says:

Jose if you follow Rubio’s work and Senate activities you would know he is one of the most vocal critics of the Senates deadlock practices as well as Obama’s.
He is articulate and on point with his remarks. Remember, he is still a freshman in that so-called august chamber!

    • Luis R Vazquez says:

Jose; Donde tu estabas, Jose Inés?
It looks like you have spent the last year traveling (Maybe To Cuba?) and have had no time to read the papers, watch the News on TV or radio or simply have been too busy, to find out about OUR MARCO RUBIO>

  2. honeygetoverit says:

“Anonymous Rubio aide”…? lol… and West working with Rubio is the most OBVIOUS thing, as both are conservative Republicans from Florida, so… where’s the news?

    • A lot of inside baseball that does not make this an OBVIOUS thing, trust me on this. As for the aide, there is a reason why he/she asked me to keep him/her name out of it, for now. Stay tuned…

    • Luis R Vazquez says:

      Honey; Get over it.
Not every conservative -or liberal for that, matter- has the same agenda or pursue the same ends.
Allen West and Marco Rubio are both conservatives to the bone, people we badly need, but they come from different zones.
It is good that they get together and work together.

  3. Daytona says:

    They need more help.
It’s up to the conservative voters to strengthen the team in Congress.

    • FLChristyB says:

Your darn right they do! Fill BOTH houses with TRUE CONSTITUTIONAL CONSERVATIVES and watch this Nation turn around.
We need to get Nelson and his ilk OUT, they have done enough damage, if they remain they will just continue to obstruct good legislation and work to end America as we know it, God Help Us!!

      • sid says:

These comments are true and straight from the heart. Get a full team elected, vote a straight ticket, but get the ticket loaded with real conservatives no RINO’S, like McCain and Lindsey and others. Clean out the Progressives in every office I R D, it make no difference.

  4. FLdlh says:

If the Constitutional eligibility question applies to Barack Obama, it applies to Romney, Rubio, Jindal and Santorum. Look it up. The Constitution is being ignored. 2012 ballot challenges regarding Obama’s eligibility being submitted to SOS are increasing across the states. The issue of eligibility and who vetts Presidential and VP candidates should be legally defined and clearly resolved.

    • Daytona says:

A good point, the issues concerning qualification for high office should be addressed. If any resident of the USA applies for a good job, we must supply all required background data. The American people aren’t asking too much by asking the same from a potential V.P. or President. Plus, the opposition always has the opportunity to use background information against them.

Here is an excerpt from Supreme Court Ruling 88 U.S. 162

Additions might always be made to the citizenship of the United States in two ways: first, by birth, and second, by naturalization. This is apparent from the Constitution itself, for it provides6 that ‘no person except a natural-born citizen, or a citizen of the United States at the time of the adoption of the Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President,’7 and that Congress shall have power ‘to establish a uniform rule of naturalization.’ Thus new citizens may be born or they may be created by naturalization.

The Constitution does not, in words, say who shall be natural-born citizens. Resort must be had elsewhere to ascertain that. At common-law, with the nomenclature of which the framers of the Constitution were familiar, it was never doubted that all children born in a country of parents who were its citizens became themselves, upon their birth, citizens also. These were natives, or natural-born citizens, as distinguished from aliens or foreigners. Some authorities go further and include as citizens children born within the jurisdiction without reference to the citizenship of their [88 U.S. 162, 168] parents. As to this class there have been doubts, but never as to the first. For the purposes of this case it is not necessary to solve these doubts. It is sufficient for everything we have now to consider that all children born of citizen parents within the jurisdiction are themselves citizens. The words ‘all children’ are certainly as comprehensive, when used in this connection, as ‘all persons,’ and if females are included in the last they must be in the first. That they are included in the last is not denied. In fact the whole argument of the plaintiffs proceeds upon that idea.

      • DIMITRI DELGADO says:

Being a naturally born citizen is not enough to pass the test of eligibility for POTUS. A child born in Hawaii, to let’s say two German parents on vacation, is a naturally born U.S. citizen based upon place of birth, but DOES NOT find him/herself eligible to be POTUS. In the current case, it is clear that one parent was a citizen of Kenya and the other had left the states before the age of 18 and did not re-establish citizenship upon her return AFTER the age of 18. Being born in Hawaii is worth conceeding, even if incorrect, because it still does not answer core questions.

    • Doc says:

Good point regarding the questions of eligibility mentioned above. My research shows Romney is eligible for office, both he and his parents were U.S. Citizens. I couldn’t find much info on Santorum’s parents, naturalized citizens before his birth or not? Rubio said he wouldn’t accept V.P. if it was offered. Jindal submitted a public disclosure of ineligibility over a year ago.

    • Luis R Vazquez says:

Marco Rubio was born in the USA, OF LEGAL RESIDENT PARENTS.
Please, like we say in spanish.
      “DON’T MIX AMMNESIA WITH MAGNESSIA

      • Walker says:

Marco Rubio was born of “legal residents”, NOT of legal “citizens”. Therefore, he is ineligible to be President or Vice-President.
West, on the other hand is eligible for both. :)

      • LP says:

RUBIO WAS BORN IN MIAMI BUT HIS PARENTS WERE NOT YET CITIZEN, SAME AS JINDLE. SANTORUM,S PARENTS WERE NATURLIZED BEFORE HIS BIRTH SO HE IS LEGAL.

  5. Marvin says:

What are the chances either one of them will do anything about Border Security?

    • Lou says:

Both West and Rubio have little to say about border security at this time in the Congress. It’s all controlled under The Department of Homeland Security, and that is a Regulatory Agency controlled by a czar (answering to the President). Until regulatory agencies are abolished or have their power rescinded, Congress is powerless. Unfortunately, well meaning safety regulation can quickly become a cage that traps those being regulated, including the Congress. The power of elected officials to rectify problems such as border security are nullified by an unelected czar, that answers to an unresponsive administration. The situation is multiplied throughout our government in all areas.

  6. Flintlock says:

Perhaps Marco Rubio can convince Allen West to run for the Republican nomination for senator. It would be great to have both Rubio and West as our senators. That Obama yes man Bill Nelson has to go and the Republicans have a pretty sorry bunch chasing the nomination at the moment.

    • Luis R Vazquez says:

Bill Nelson has caused enough harm to Florida.
First as Insurance Commissioner, when he caved to the Industry and later as Senator, where he has been a constant rubber stamp for Clinton and Obama’s policies.

    • LP says:

AGREE NELSON HAS TO GO. HOWEVER WE HAVE TWO GOOD ONES RUNNING WHICH IS STEWART AND MCCALISTER. DON’T BE SO NEGATIVE AND GIVE THESE TWO A GOOD LOOK. WE CAN WIN THIS.

  7. Harry Riley says:

That pesky little Article 2, Section 1, clause 5 of the United States Constitution requires a presidential/vicepresidential candidate meet “natural birth citizenship” requirements. The Supreme Court has held in Minor v. Happersett , 88 U.S. 162 (1875) that persons born of U.S. citizen parents(plural) are natural born citizens of the U.S. It’s not that hard to understand. Marco Rubio was born in 1971 in Florida to parents who were not citizens of the United States but citizens of Cuba. Senator Rubio’s parents were not involved in the naturalization process until 1975/76, 4 years after Senator Rubio’s birth. There’s no doubt, Senator Rubio is a United States citizen but he is not a “natural born citizen” as identified in Minor v. Happersett as his parents were not United States citizens at the time of his birth. Senator Rubio was born as a dual citizen of Cuba and the United States. He is not qualifed to serve as vice president or president of the United States. It’s not about ethnic issues Ms Parker, it’s about the US Constitution….get over it.

Barack Obama, like Senator Rubio is not a “natural born citizen” as Obama’s father was a British subject of Kenya, “never” a citizen of the United States. Because we have no leadership with courage and love for our United States Constitution and Founding Father principles, Barack Obama remains a illegal White House occupant.

Senator Rubio would cement his integrity by publicly acknowledging his citizen birth status vis-a-vis “natural birth citizen” to enlighten journalist like Kathleen Parker.

Do we hold the US Constitution as our bed-rock authority or not?

    • Luis R Vazquez says:

Can you tell me, Mr Riley: Were George Washinton’s parents born In the USA? Or Jeffeson’s?
      Please refresh my History.

      • Walker says:

Hey Vazquez, don’t look now , but your ignorance is showing. No, Washington, etc, were not natural born citizens. But if you would take the time to read the Constitution, as Riley obviously has, it stated, the exceptions were the people who were citizens at the time the Constitution was adopted. Pretty smart men, our forefathers. You seem to underestimate them.
Please stop posting comments that only show your ignorance of the USA. hum – - — I am wondering if you are a natural born citizen . . .I was taught this in 8th grade social studies. Where did you go to school???

      • LP says:

BOTH WASHINGTON JEFFERSON ADAMS AND ALL THE REST WERE JUST THE BEGINNING AND THE CONSTITUION HAD NOT YET BEEN WRITTEN LET ALONG FINALISED BUT THESE MEN KNEW WHAT COULD HAPPEN TO THE COUNTRY IF SOME ONE FOREIN BORN BECAME THE PREZ, AND THEY WERE RIGHT. JUST LOOK AT THE GARBAGE AND TROUBLE WE ARE IN NOW.

  8. I will preface my comment by making it clear that I am not snowed by any type of political rhetoric or stance.
I rely on facts, not emotion , in my political outlook when seeking solutions to problems.

I am not a registered Democrat, nor do I subscribe to the Democratic phiosphy or perceived solutions to the myriad problems besetting society.

I was however impressed by the observation of retiring Congressman Barney Frank as to why there is gridlock in Washington D.C, among, our Representatives.

In the year 2008, there was elected a class of Representative with a set view, then in 2010 there was elected another class with a divergent view.

Being that both West and Rubio were voted into their respective offices in the year 2010, how will you have two points of view addressed?

  9. Lightweight says:

I hope West could bring some conscience to Rubio. But I have concerns with what politicians can do to West.As a soldier he understood duty honor and loyality, but he has dropped to voting 74% wwith the Tea Party values. If Rubio has influence on West we have to remember Rubio has voted with Obama on most of his policies.Rubio is aprt of the 93% who keep voting with Obama.Rubio is a socialist and I hope that West can confront him on it.

  10. GMM says:

Wouldn’t this be a great ticket. First Cuban-Am in the White House and first black VP. More interesting would be the reverse – FIRST black man in White House and first C-A as VP. WOULD DRIVE THE LOONS CRAZY – WHAT???? GAME ON!!!

    • Walker says:

MARCO RUBIO IS NOT ELIGIBLE TO BE PRESIDENT, OR VICE-PRESIDENT!!! Don’t any of you guys bother to read the constitution, before deciding who you want to be President??!!!!
If not, then at least take the time to read the posts by people (Riley for instance) who did take the time to read the Constitution.

  11. Marian says:

Sound like the future Dream team for this country. I just wish it was right now, while we still have a country

  12. Debra P says:

West and Rubio not only get that voting Obama out will be critical to America’s safety and stability but that also replacing Democrats, Progressives and Establishment Repubs in Congress with fiscal Conservatives is just as important. America and the Free World are counting on it.

    • Luis R Vazquez says:

Debra; I agree one hundred per cent.
Republicans have been infiltrated by liberals who fake being one of us.
Jeff Flakes of Arizona is only one of them.
We got another one in the Senate that I can name; Richard Lugar.
Plus the two ladies from Rhode Island

    • LP says:

SO RIGHT. THIS MAY BE THE LAST TIME WE CAN VOTE FOR ANYONE IF WE DO NOT GET A CONSERVATIVE IN NOW. IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE INTENT OF BHO TO BE THE DICTAOR AND I AM AFRAID A SECOND TERM WILL PUT DICTATORSHIP IN HIS LAP, MAKING AMERICA JUST ANOTHER MARXIST DICTATORSHIP. AS IT IS NOW THE CONSTITUION IS ALL BUT GONE. PLEASE WAKE THE HELL UP PEOPLE. IT,S NOW OR NEVER.

  14. [...] By Ruth King on January 10th, 2012 Marco Rubio & Allen West Forging Political Alliance? | The Shark Tank [...]

  15. Jerry Stach says:

Great, now West can be known as a liar too, Its those that you hang with that give you the name. like Rube, Pants on fire money tube!

  16. No Longer Confused says:

I fully supported bot West and Rubion during their campaigns and almost always agreed with their votes on legislation.

HOWEVER, and no one seems to be addressing this, why did they both vote for the NDAA? I was stunned when I looked up the vote.

They both essentially threw the American people under the bus by subjecting Americans to the potential loss of their 4th and 6th Amendment rights.

So, Sharktank, why don’t you get on it and ask them both WHY they voted for this assault on our rights.
