By Javier Manjarres
During his address to the Hispanic Leadership Conference in Miami, Florida, Senator Marco Rubio was heckled by three young Hispanic men from a group named Presente Action. Rubio has taken a hard stance against Amnesty for illegal immigrants, consistently stating that he has never been, nor will ever support any form of amnesty for illegal immigrants, including support for the Dream Act.
After the men were escorted out of the hotel, Rubio was visibly emotional as he delivered a passionate speech regarding the delicate issue of illegal immigration. We caught up with the men outside of the Doral Country Club, where we posed a few simple questions for the main heckler who identified himself as “Joe.” Joe took issue with our line of questioning, and stated that he would not be taking anymore questions from yours truly, El Sharko. As he walked off to meet his ride, Joe finally decided to answer some questions about why he thinks Rubio is ‘anti-immigrant,’ and why he and his brethren were protesting the Cuban-American Senator from Florida.
Say it aint’ so, Joe! Watch the video.
Javier,
Very simply put… you ROCK!
The law is the law! Now go home…
What part of ILLEGAL do these criminals who slithered over our border not understand? Deport them or put their butts in jail…they are CRIMINALS! Get rid of them. ALL of them are parasites off of hard working AMERICANS. Any politician who supports the “dream act” should be shamed right out of office.
Why does Marco Rubio indicate hid support for Mitt Romney, the big-government socialist in the race? We were swindled once with John McCain.
MITT ROMNEY IS A GREAT MAN. HE PAYS MORE TO CHARITIES AND BUILDS COMPANIES TO EMPLOY PEOPLE LIKE YOU. MY SON IS IN THE SAME BUSINESS AS GOV. ROMNEY. HE SAVED BIG AND SMALL COMPANIES FROM CLOSING. ONE EXAMPLE….MARCAL… HE ALSO HAD TO FIRE PEOOPLE WHEN NECESSARY. IF RUBIO SUPPORTS MITT….HE IS A TRUE AMERICAN. REMEMBER, AMERICA IS BUILT AS A REPUBLIC AND YOU SHOULD ENDORSE OUR CAPITALIST IDEAS. DO YOU WANT TO GO DOWN THE DRAIN LIKE THE SOCIALISTIC COUNTRIES ARE DOING? MY HERITAGE IS ITALIAN AND RUSSIAN. MY ITALIAN GRANDFATHER STARTED A COMPANY FROM SCRATCH……SEN.RUBIO IS MY CHOICE FOR V.P.
Steve — Romney has a solid stance against illegal immigration. Check it out before you accuse him.
Too bad they didn’t have the honesty and guts to stay and listen to Marco Rubio’s speech. Their minds may have been opened just a little. Perhaps one day they’ll grow up.
If the parents of a child steal a car and give that car to their son…the child doesn’t get to keep the car when they are caught! People that come here illegaly are trying to steal US citizenship for themselves and their children. They do that at the expense of the people waiting their turn on line and it disrespects the millions of legal immigrants who have contributed to our country. I really don’t have a solution for the children that were brought here at an early age, but I feel strongly that what ever options that are extended to them should be offered to the people waiting patiently ON-LINE. That, it seems to me would create an avalanche of immigration way beyound the ability of the US to absorb in a reasonable way!!!!
now how come mass media says it’s a hate crime if donks get heckled, but it’s free speech when donks do this to republicans? as for the donk-dominated mass media, the “m” in mass is definitely extraneous. no, if i criticize obama’s destructive idiocy, it is not racism, it’s patriotism…
@HowardfromBroward – What in the world is a “donk”? – - – -
Everyone heard Sen. Rubio ask these people to say and hear what he had to say. Now the one guy said “we were thrown out”… NOT True!
But this is what I can’t stand. These people (not only illegals, but liberal/progressives on every issue) want to exercise THEY’RE OWN FREEDOM OF SPEECH, but when they’re opposition wants to speak, liberal/progressives either get violent, overtalk so loudly that no one else can be heard, or run away. THEY NEVER WANT TO BE CONFUSED WITH THE TRUTH!
Javier,
I don’t know if this is your full-time job or just a hobby blog, but your are a great journalist, writer and ask fantastic questions. I am enjoying reading it. It is thoughtful as well. Thank you for giving this person a chance to speak and not judge. I think you should be hired by the networks to cover politics!
Thanks for the kind words
What we have folks is a rogue White House, State Department, and Department of Justice who are not enforcing immigration laws. Millions of immigrants have over stayed their VISA, had children here and now want amnesty. Ignorance of the law is no excuse and this issue must be addressed NOW. Our Constitution must be protected. VOTE
as rush limbaugh says…right on, right on, right on!
Javier Manjarres,This was staged.Marco Rubio IS for giving amnesty yo illegal aliens.Insterad of a staged election years political stunt, you should look at Marco Rubio’s policy record on amnesty.Listen to his speeches ?
This reminds me of Marco Rubio’s speech against Obama’s debt cieling and then he sat the vote out.Marco Rubio has the same political record profile as Obama,he does the speeches and interviews, but does not vote so that he real view is documented.
Do you remember that Marco Rubio sat on the immigration Bill in Florida 7 times not letting it come up ? Do you remeber Rubio disagreeing with the Arizona law because it “profiles” a certain groups of people ? As if it was short white catholic nuns sneak’n across the border.Have you notice he has never 1 time ever demanded the law we have already be enforced. Javier Manjarres, you and Marco Rubio knew who these guys were beofre this event happened ? They explained the same senio that is Marco Rubio’s own immigration experience. It is all propaganda.
Not staged. But I agree with you about the 6 bills he sat on.
Thanks Javier, for having the courage to address this emotional topic. I think you are stronger on illegal immigration than Marco. So… when DID Rubio have a change of heart on illegal immigration? What actual steps has he taken to deal with this issue as a US Senator? Support e-verify? He is certainly a great orator, but his votes don’t match his rhetoric. Is he just another politician?
I have a saying “Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see”. I believe none of the politicians no matter what party they are from. They will tell you what you want to hear and turn on you when you turn your back. I voted for Mario Rubio because I thought (how silly of me) he would be good for this country. He’s no better than any of them. I want to read in the paper that this politician no matter what party he came from did this for the WORKING CITIZENS of the US. not for the illegals or the lazy ones sitting on their rear ends collecting welfare or anything free from the working class. I’m 60 yrs. old and have a very good feeling that this country will collapse unless we get the right people in office.

I do agree Rubio has sometimes been hard to pin down on this issue, no big surprise for a latino lawmaker in such a volatile state. As for
these “indios equivocados”, what can we expect? They’re very confrontational and rude until it gets turned on them. Then they run like la migra’s coming, LOL. This country needs the labor for the ‘jobs Americans won’t do’ but not their drain on the socio-economic systems they abuse. The various illegals who live here are emboldened by the spineless kabuki theater cowards like Ros-Lehtinen and Diaz Balart participate in. It never ceases to amaze me how these Cuban legislators are so naive as to ignore the fact these underachieving latinos will only become lifelong Dems who will NEVER vote for them. My only conclusion is pressure from the business community for cheap labor trumps any hint of pragmatic politicking. This is yet another illustration of why we need to repeal the Cuban Adj. Act and have federal term limits so these RINOs will stop feeding at the public trough.
“My only conclusion is pressure from the business community for cheap labor trumps any hint of pragmatic politicking.”
You are right on with that. Alabama, where I live, recently passed a very strong law against illegal immigration — one that hewed the line with the existing (unenforced!!) federal law. It was supported by 70-73 percent of Alabama voters. In the new session of the legislature starting 2/7, there will be a serious move to ‘revise portions’ of the law “to make it more enforceable.” Why? Because the Alabama Business Alliance is bitching about labor shortages. And the “Republican” attorney general wants to avoid a huge fight with the feds.
The GOP has top-to-bottom control of all constitutional and legislative offices, and they’re quaking in their boots over this.
Our legislators are unlike ,perhaps other groups, good hearted people. I’m also a CARLOS.
Those people where wrong to interrupt Mr. Rubio’s remarks but then again Mr. Rubio should support the DREAM Act. If you are here illegally for no fault of your own and are willing to die for your country you should be allowed to stay. Similarly, those who commit crimes should immediately be returned to their nations of origins. First and foremost, the border MUST BE SECURED. None of these policies will work with illegals busting in by the thousands. The border must and needs to be secured. But Rubio should allow those who want to stay here and lead productive citizenships to stay sufficed that they provide sometyhing in return for staying here.
As a Vatican-supporting Roman Catholic of half-Spanish descent (half-Irish/English) the responsibility rests with European Americans (Spanish, English, et al) who QUITE illegally seized the lands of the peoples of the New World. Evangelizing with the Gospel of Jesus Christ is one thing (to be lauded), but disrespecting the land rights of the original inhabitants of South America, Central America and North America must be OPPOSED in the name of Jesus Christ. Spanish descendants MUST either evangelize (according to the intercessory prayers of the Virgin of Guadalupe, patroness of Las Americas) or simply give back what was illegally taken from the original inhabitants of the New World. How much does U.S. Senator Marco Rubio focus on anything REMOTELY Judeo-Christian?! He’s a Pro-Life vote, yet never seems to mention such concerns (contrary to someone like Santorum who boldly stands for LIFE). Rubio should become Roman Catholic fully, not just to obtain the fiscal and political support. <.
If and when Rubio agrees that amnesty is the only solution, then we must set him straight and vote him and others like him out of office. The American people deserve answers from the highest level the truth on how and why illegal immigration, joblessness, deficits, and the immoral debt got out of control. Our President wants his version of a Socialist society which includes more re-distribution of income, higher taxes from all levels of the working class while moderate/conservative of both parties what to adhere to the principles of our Constitution that preserve individual liberties and unleashing our economy from an outdated tax code and rules that have choked our businesses to flee our country.
For past 30 years this country has been overwhelmed by those who do not know what it means to have a Constitution. VOTE to protect it.

The stop voting for the GOP and the DNC. Vote for this guy and pass on his link. Send his link to Talk Show host and the Left Media ?
They came on a plane!
They were disrespectful and rude. Are they a measure of education in Miami-Dade when they seem to be high school age and they do not know how they came here or what is the law.
What would they say when asked about paying taxes and about the thousands that wait for their visa to come legally? I am certain that they would argue and or fight anyone who skipped them in the lunch line at school, theater or concert. Though, they want amnesty for violating their visas. Would they also allow for someone who stole their computer and then utilized it for school work to keep it because they are using it for something good? I bet they would argue and say they did not care and wanted their property returned.
We want our taxes! We want laws to be followed! We definitely want those two gentlemen to get an education and learn that in the United States no one is above the law! That includes illegals!
Good work reporting this, Javier! What’s sad, is that these kids are brought here or somehow come here on their own and then claim to understand legalities and politics enough to heckle one of our politicians when the truth of the matter is, when directly asked questions, they clearly do not understand. Obviously activists have lit a fire under them, cowardly talking them and many other young people into showing up at events to cause an outburst or create a scene. They have been “agitated” by activists. And they probably do not fully understand why they are even asked to do these things. They just do it because they’ve been convinced that people are against them. Shame on those who use the youth as “useful idiots” for their own cause!
What makes me mad is, that they “Joe” are here breaking the law and they come with an attitude and arrogance, and I don’t know why they want to stay in a country they hate. I am from Costa Rica and I know the difference between Legal and Illegal. Same thing is happening in Costa Rica right now, where Nicaraguans and Colombians break the law and stay there illegally commiting crimes, selling drugs, killing people and taking control of the streets while every family need stay home with bars in their homes to stay safe. That’s not right, they need to go back where they came from and start doing the things the right way.
There are so many things about the Dream Act which are ridiculous & if Americans really understood it they would never be for it. The main thing, my kids had to work while they were in school or take out expensive loans. They also had to have the qualifications to get into school, show up for class, make passing grades and show up for work. In the Dream Act they get the money whether they pass or fail or even show up for class. No job as they are given money to live on and no loans to pay back later on. They can go to school in their own countries for less money. Why don’t they stay there?
Guys, GET IT STRAIGHT! It’s the Illegal Alien DREAM Act! WE’RE the ones hurt by it!
I still vacillate between Mitt and Newt. I frankly don’t think they are very far appart on the issues.
But I have made my decision on these:
Mario Rubio for VP
Javier Manjarres for Press Secretary
To all of you who support Mr.Rubio that’s wonderful, but let me point out one glaring FACT. Sen. Rubio is NOT ELIGIBLE to become Vice-President or President! The Record is clear on this issue,Mr. Rubio’s parents did NOT become Citizens of the United States until AFTER Marco Rubio’s birth, hence he is NOT a “natural-born Citizen” as required by the Constitution for the position of Vice-President or President. If you keep pushing for a canidate that is NOT eligible for those positions you will just embolden others to ignore the Constitution. Please, if you dont believe me, find out the FACTS for yourself! This issuse could not be of greater importance.
I myself voted for Mr. Rubio for the SENATE because he IS eligible for that position but if Mr. Rubio ever attempts to run for VP or POTUS I would firmly make known his attempt to usurp the Constitution. He is well aware of his ineligibilty for the highest offices in America.
Mr.Rubio could become a modern day hero, if he would himself come out and state to the people & press that he is NOT eligible for the positions that some of you want him to assend to. Unfortunately I believe he lacks the political fortitude to speak the truth in this matter.
Mr.Rubio if you want my support again, please find the courage to tell everyone your knowledge of these issues.
I watched recently on FOX as Mr.Rubio was being interviewed with another Senator about the economy, when twice, out of the blue,Mr.Rubio stated he was “born” in America and was an American. WHY? About that same time the St.Petersberg Times on the front page for three days, ran stories about Mr.Rubio’s ineligibilty for VP or President. I wish everyone the best but this issue of INELIGIBILITY is not going to quietly be dismissed.
I would suggest a good starting point for the truth about this issue, would be to read the Amicus Curiae Brief (friend of the court)that was submitted to the court by Leo Donofrio in the “Georgia Ballot Challenge” it is an excllent paper and a must read for everyone.
Au revoir
It’s a shame to watch a young Colombian ,feel the way this young man does. No one, and I mean no one has the right to illegally enter any country in the world. As a Hispanic of Cuban background, who loves and visits Colombia on a regular basis,I feel sorry for this young man’s view. GOD BLESS AMERICA, and let’s keep it legal. p.s. My family in Colombia is of Cuban back ground.
