I most certainly do have a problem with my taxes going up. Why?

#1 – This isn’t an issue for my part of Pembroke Pines, why should I pay this price?

#2 – This center isn’t going to be built in Pembroke Pines, so if ICE is intent on getting it built, it WILL be built.

#3 – Our city attorney said that breaking our contract is a bad idea. So what does our city do? Find someone who says otherwise. This is great legal strategy!

#4 – This is an attempt to block the legal rights of the property owner to build on their property and has been in the works since 2005.

#5 – Why would I want to do business with Pembroke Pines if they won’t honor their contracts?

#6 – Whatever happened about the needs of the many (the rest of Pines, like me, who will pay higher taxes) vs. the needs of the few (those who claim that their home values will drop and escapees will run off with their kids and remote controls)?

I will, however, be okay with all this provided that those who opposed this center pay any and all higher taxes, leaving the rest of us in Pines out of their mess.

Let me guess? They’re Democrats, right? This is all they know how to do. Say NO and vote them out. Start with a new slate that will listen to the people of your district. Stop allowing these people to wreck our lives. I am from a northern Fl county that is finally voting out this type of mentallity.

    • Joe Pastrami says:

Lowie, I envy you. I live in the Pines and can honestly tell you there’s no hope of getting these clowns out. We are outnumbered by large amounts of sheeple and Walking dead.

      • Lowie says:

Join your local Tea Party group who think like you. When my husband and I first participated in the first anti tax rally in our town, there were so many people who got off their couches and went and woke up many who thought they were in the minority. They are out there…find them. We have over 1500 people who are middle class and pay their taxes on time and are saying enough is enough. Our county coucil is changing their tune.

Pembroke Pines had a chance to elect a responsible Republican in January. Just joining a TeaParty group will not accomplish anything if you are not motivated to do more than talk and complain. Municipal elections are IMPORTANT! Maybe not glamorous, but still important.
People, you have to VOTE! You have to encourage your neighbors to vote. Who votes now? Union members, mostly – and they get results, don’t they?

When we lived down there I tried to get republican opposition to Deutsch. (sp) They claimed it would be a waste of money. We lived in Davie up against the Pines. With this attitude nothing will change.
