Let’s see, what’s worse? Being Charlie Crist’s friend or voting YES to the arrest and detention provisions of NDAA like Marco Rubio and Allen West did;
Or actually authoring a bill that infringes on the first amendment like Tom Rooney did in full bipartisanship with Ted Deutch: HR347.
I fully expect you to blow off both of these sins against the Bill of Rights, but if I had to condemn someone for their actions; being friends with someone who left your party would run a distant last to violating both the Bill of Rights and one’s oath of office.
Only 3 of FL’S D.C. delegation voted NO to NDAA. Rubio voted in line with Bill Nelson. With the exception of Posey and Mack, every voting member of FL’s GOP delegation voted YES among those who voted (Diaz Balart and Young did not vote). For HR347 is was unanimous among the entire FL delegation of those who voted. In the last 90 days the House violated the Bill of Rights twice; both times another GOP wunderkind Allen West, voted in lock step with Nancy Pelosi and DW Schultz.
I am sure that none of those great GOP members of the FL D.C. delegation are Crist’s pals either. Doesnt mean squat in the defense of liberty- they all failed liberty 101. BTW, for everyone who will be hassled by having to “go,gather and get” numerous ID’s to renew your drivers license remember it was good Republican and then Senator Carey Baker who introduced FL’s REAL ID law causing this, and it was Speaker of the House Rubio who made sure it made it through the House.
We are losing our freedoms almost daily on one front or another and party operatives are concerned about who is Charlie Crist’s friends? Friggin ridiculous.
I agree with you, but part of the reason we’re doing this is because the state of Fl allowed people in various DMV offices to have their own little business SELLING drivers licenses to illegal aliens, and now they can’t figure out how to trace them back and they don’t want them renewing by mail for years and years so they are making Everyone inconvenience themselves because of this criminal activity. This was reported in the newspaper a couple of years a go. I’ve had a FL DL for 30 years, they can trace me back themselves, This not only a Bill of rights issue it’s a major travesty. How much is this costing the taxpayers? What an idiotic solution……
I Love reading the comments on the Shark Tank because if I agree or Disagree… the readers are so informative. A vast amount of information. Sometimes biased but then highly honest ones also. Yes, I worked on the Rubio campaign but that was because I was so pissed at the Crist/ Greer purge of conservatives. I have realized that Rubio is just another Globalist who with Jeb intend to destroy our national laws by tearing down the Constitution with Laws like NDAA. Now, I see JEB wants his minion Rubio as VP, for which he IS NOT QUALIFIED and NEVER will be. In his own book he shows that his Cuban Citizen parents came here before Castro and never applied for citizenship until years after his birth. That means according to three (3) Supreme Court Decisions he is a Citizen but not a Natural Born Citizen. Maybe he wants to take the Obama Exemption to the LAW which is to ignore it all together? Are we a Nation or just a Mob without Laws or a Constitution?
In brief, if the ACLU is for it, I’m agin’ it, and vice versa.
Crist is going to be a Democrat. That means that all one will have to “go, gather and get” in order to VOTE is a baseball bat (or Al Sharpton’s phone number).
Charlie Crist has always been a democrat. Remember him in Louisiana cozying up to obama. His fried is also bill nelson a yes kid for obama.
It would have been great to see a political commercial with a cook making pancakes, with the turn of each hotcake superimposed over a picture of Charlie Crist as a symbol the flip-flopping flapjack. The final product being served to Marco Rubio in a symbolic gesture of having Crist for lunch.
The shameless Benedict Arnold-ism put by suntan Charlie is astounding. I’m glad he wasn’t elected but Florida needs to be put en garde against this politically schitzophrenic janus.
I really expected nothing less from Crist. He showed his true colors when, instead of running for re-election, he saw stars and figured he’d take Washington by storm.
To me, that makes him a typical narcissist, just like our “Dear Leader” in the White House. He couldn’t believe that the Republican Citizens of the State of Florida could be so stupid as to prefer a genuine Conservative over a carbon copy of “Mayor-for-Life” Bloomberg. So he did his best to thwart the wishes of the very people to whom he swore an oath to serve. I am almost ashamed to admit that he appointed me to the R.C.C.A.M., but I never met him and I certainly will support whoever runs against him. Charlie made his bed, I hope he lays in it for a long, long time.
GOD Bless the USA
Eagle does indeed have an opponent. I am a former Cape Coral City Councilmember with a conservative voting record, 12 years of community involvement and a history of successfully operating businesses in the private sector. Dane has raised a great deal of money through his ties to Crist but very little money in the district that he will represent.
Please support (and if you live in District 77, vote for)Chris Berardi

It pleases me to see the author overlooked you in mentioned Dane, Chris. This ill-informed blogger did not even recognize you as a candidate in the Dist. 77 race. Although you have corrected him, you have failed to mention your history of running for elected positions. You were appointed to the City Council, then ran for your seat and LOST. Then you decided to aim for the County Commission and LOST. What makes you think that moving up to the state level will yield positive results? The few citizens of Cape Coral that actually know you do not have good things to say. You moved here from another state a few years ago and YOU DONT EVEN LIVE IN CAPE CORAL!
Yes Andrew, we do care about who’s friends with Crist. Why? Because Crist typifies all that’s wrong with American politics today. Crist has the morals of a clam and is a liar that will do or say anything to benefit himself. And now he’s an ambulance chaser with Morgan & Morgan. Birds of a feather…
Eagle does indeed have an opponent.

Eagle has raised alot of money thanks to his connections to Crist (very little from within the district he hopes to represent) and we need to spead the word about his Crist connection.
Thank you for bringing this race to the forefront! Vote Chris Berardi on August 14th and bring an end to the Charlie Crist era.

How much money have you raised? I believe you didn’t even break $1,000. Aside from your accusations about Dane’s fundraising origins, lets look at yours. If you can’t even raise enough money to achieve the respect of your constituents, how are we to believe you have ANY supporters? If the people of Cape Coral supported you, they’d donate to your campaign.
I have been involved in the community for four years now. Every function I have attended I have always seen Chris Berardi involved. Six months ago, out of now where Dane Eagle magically appears out of thin air as the choosen one. Where has he been? What community involvement? Why are people backing someone who has not put in the effort or time. Chris Berardi has been involved in everything, and now Dane Gets a pass??? Berardi has a conservative voting record and real world experience. Is this what politics have come to?
Rickey, I have been a long time resident of Cape Coral and stay involved with many political groups. I see you at events more than I see Chris. How has Dane come from nowhere when he is born and raised in Cape Coral, has family ties here since the 70′s, has worked for Eagle Realty since he could drive a car, and stays involved with his high school and numerous community groups? Rickey, you continue to speak from an ill-informed perspective and it shows. Also, you clearly work closely with Chris (that shows as well). You elicited the question of your good friend Chris regarding his history and we all listened in as he immediately went negative against Dane… however I did, as did everyone else in the room, enjoy listening as Dane reiterated his service to our state while mentioning how Chris unprofessionally discredits it. You say “What community involvement?”, “Where has he been?”, and “…now Dane gets a pass?” Why are you posing questions that people already know the answers to? Dane IS involved and the people of Cape Coral see that. Also, during the short time Dane was not here, he was getting a quality education and serving our state. Finally, Dane does not “get” a pass, he has earned it.
Besides, it is well known within the community that Chris does not live in Cape Coral… and we all know you two are roommates.
In Reference to your article today, Dane Eagle is NOT running unopposed for State Representative.

Eagle has raised alot of money thanks to his Charlie Crist connections (very little from the district he hopes to represent) and we need all the help we can get from the conservative community.
Vote Chris Berardi on August 14th! Put an end to the Charlie Crist era!

Easy there Chris, once is enough. Don’t discredit us too, we can read.
I don’t see an issue here. Dane Eagle was born and raised in Cape Coral, a rare bread. He’s a strong conservative leader with a long family history of community activists. His so called “opponent” commenting above doesn’t even live in Cape Coral. He lives in District 78. Talk about carpet-bagging. Dane Eagle for the House!
As an At Large Director for FL Right to Life, plus someone involved with local military-affiliated college teaching (MacDill A.F.B.) I am especially appalled that “friends of Charlie Crist” have allowed anti-life politicians to run Florida during the Crist era, even when they “personally vote” for Pro-Life legislation. Rep. Peter Nehr is, indeed, a Pro-Life vote in the FL House, but Nehr supporting those who do not express the moral viewpoints of most Republicans nationally is quite unwise. Go Tory Perfetti! <.
I see nothing but people fighting over a race that was not the focus of the article. it is focused on how Charlie Crist has betrayed us. And I can tell you first hand that peter Nehr has also Afte the illegal gambling he was involved in, and the horrible way he got rid of his wife who raised HIS children and was loyal to him to the very end, I could never trust that scum bag. He may win as he has lots of illegal money and the people here are not too bright, but he deserves to lost. I feel for Pasco as all they have are bad candidates. They keep putting in the same people over and over and get the same results.
We now have no rights living in HOA’s thnaks to Mike Fasano. he undid everything Jeb worked for. But Scott is not much better in the things he has done. We need Bill McCollum back. if we get rid of Obama Care, that is thanks to Bill McCollum taking it to the Supreme Court. he should have stayed Attorney General one more term and finished it ALL. Then ran for governor as Scott could not buy his way back in the 2nd time. I just hope Romney does not buy his way in the first time.
And Pasco has ONE good Candidate …County Commission….Chris Gregg….. He will stand with the people.
Thank goodness Crist and “friends” aren’t card carrying members of the current Republican “Borg mentality”. Let’s be thankful that there are a few–just a few–that have the ability to think for themselves. There’s enough maneuvering and backstabbing to go around on both sides of the equation. As an independent thinking Republican, I’m mortified and embarrassed–from our wacko Governor on down the self-serving food chain.
[...] Peter Nehr, and soon-to-be State Representative (and Crist campaign finance director) Dane Eagle all supported NPA candidate Charlie Crist against Marco Rubio. Curiously, however, they have kept a low profile [...]
