This is an issue that should be addressed. Rubio is taking the lead in an assertive way. Good for him!

Obama is a front for a Democrat heirarchy that’s been anxiously waiting for the moment to institute the supplement to the broken system of Social Security, the “crowning achievment of Franklin Roosevelt.” That system was initiated because the thinking was Americans didn’t have enough brains or fortitude to manage private retirement accounts. So, how come Canadians have been able to do that?

Obama’s election initiated the attempt-in-waiting all these years to pass a mandatory healthcare law, which would squeeze private insurers out of business and force the public into the waiting hands of single-payor National Health Care….the federal government, “Death Panels and all!Just like the Euro Socialists have!

To do it, he and his Democrats took 550 billion out of Medicare, but try telling that to many retirees in So. Florida! These people are still voting for FDR!
The Democrats could do that because until election 2010, the Democrats owned both houses of Congress and could have their way.

They only had a small window of time to pull off what amounts to “The Great Train Robbery,” and they almost did it because the public, as usual, was blind, lazy, and apathetic.
Now, the bill is in the Supreme Court, so I hope you elders are praying. You’ll be the first to be compromised if that bill is declared legal! The election of Obama has produced many consequences!

Neither does the GOP other than dismantle it.

I don’t mean to minimize the need, but a lot of mis-spending is on children who have never paid into the system. Yes, they have “needs”, but why should MY Medicare payments pay for it. When a couple (or single parent) has children, they are THEIR responsibility. They should have planned ahead with insurance. I understand, the current economy has crippled that option. I’ve known too many children who are drawing off Medicare who’ve obviously never paid into it…and these started back in the 70′s, 80′s, 90′s and now in 2000′s. I’m retired…65 years old…what do I have to expect 20 years down the road, if I’m lucky enough to live that long.

To start with some years back why was the funding for medicare getting used for other programs? Why was this administration allowed to take 550 billion out of Meidcare? Like we are not really seeing who really is pushing grandma off the cliff? With the baby boomers now entering the system its now really overloaded and no money there to sustain it. I agree with Marco Rubio that we have to work on changing the system. Leave the people who are depending on medicare on the program and not have them have to sacrifice their benefits and reverse the budget cuts. What people dont see is we are in a time financially when we are going to have to sacrifice in ways unfamiliar to us or end up like Greece or worse were alot bigger!I think people would get on board more or less with that idea if the government would get serious about the debt, agree to a serious budget and stop waiting for the election to even look at the proposals on the table. Weve entered into an era of fiscal insanity. The gravity of our situation doesnt seem to have quite sunk into the psyche of many people.
