With the dream act maybe we can send Obama to the military since he has been here illegally for so long. Obama was brought to the US as a child and if the Dream Act is passed he has the option to leave the shadows to become legal. LOL!
I think this dream act should only apply to those that were brought here as a child and they don’t know any other country as their home then the U.S. I don’t think it should apply for those who just got here to the U.S., or those who plan on coming to the U.S. in the future. This issue or dream act should be about what to do with the ones that have been here for a number of years and can prove how long they have been in the U.S. in order for the dream act to apply to them. Otherwise, this will be just like amnesty, plain and simple!
The problem with that, is that many people came here knowingly and willfully pregnant. This is the entire issue with anchor babies; for if you get the child citizenship, then “tag” you’re it too as a citizen parent. That was NEVER the original intent of birthright citizenship, but this has become a perversion and we are paying the penalty and will continue to do so. Liberals suck this teat continually, as they plan to destroy American through this plan, as the mass of these immigrants are hispanic and they’ll not assimilate, they’ll transform this nation into something else. You think that can’t happen? Just look at California, and if you’ve not been witness to what it was some 40-50 years ago, you’ll never understand what a great state it once was. It sure rightly be renamed…Mexifornia.
Mexicans are the predominate hispanic group, and they’re not here for political assylum, unlike the Cubans. Mexicans have their own nation.
And FYI, my parent were LEGAL immigrants, so I fully understand the process. If we want to be exceptionally magnanimous, why not let untold numbers of Chinese and Indians into the country? I think we’re being rather prejudicial letting Mexicans in as we have. And anyone who enters another nation for citizenship has the obligation to learn the damn language.
Prove it!!
Prove it.
I think anyone disrespecting the Office of the President is no better then garbage. You are not a real American. A real American would never speak like that. Show some respect.
I agree with Mr.Ribio. If they can’t be citizens or able to vote or bring their whole families here then I have no problem. Plus this will bring lots of votes from Hispanics our way towards the Republican party in many years to come! I think it is very important that the Republican party is the first party to have an Hispanic as v.p. or President!

“During his senatorial campaign, Rubio took a hardline approach on illegal immigration and has not wavered on it since” ? Rubio has never taken a stance on immigration,he has only stalled on immigration because he is for amnesty.6 times immigration came up and he say on it.He declared the Arizona immigration bill as profiling, but it ain’t short white nuns sneaking accross the border ? Stop the double speak.Rubio is for amnsety.Mitt Romney is for amnesty with 3 sancurary cities.Sarah Palin is for amnesty with 2 sancurary cities. This is all propaganda.People need to read these people political records.
Illegal immigration is just that. Just the other day I watched my local liberal news and they were showing a Mexican family of 5 or 6 children, a mother and a father. They only said the father was illegal since 1996 and, due to a routine traffic stop, they found him and now he is facing deportation, leaving his large brood here in America. Well, I’m certain he knew he would be illegal when he snuck over the border and consequences for actions is what is missing in America today. The news station also forgot to state who paid for the birth of those kids, whose feeding them, whose housing them, whose paying for their medical care, etc., etc. This situation, although very tragic, is the primary reason why (1) America’s economy continues to deteriorate, (2) healthcare costs are so high, and (3) taxes continue to rise. Right there is 8 votes for democrats and they don’t bat an eye spending taxpayer money to keep them on their “payroll”…..
Actually the reason health care costs are so high is that the prices of all services from MRIs on down is at least twice that of any other country and rising every year. The price increases are a consequence of our “blank check” style of health insurance that hides prices and prevents price competition. The prices of elective treatments like Lasik eye surgery go down every year because they are not covered by insurance. Everything that is covered goes up every year.
Stop blaming the uninsured, the “free loaders”, the illegals, etc. We did this to ourselves 50 years ago when we went for employer paid insurance to pay for health care instead of paying for routine care ourselves.
Donald is such a Socialist. Notice Free Services are never the problem as “someone else” can pay for them, duh That’s socialism.
As far as Illegals once the door is open there is no going back and attempts to “solve” the problem that should never have existed in the first place will Fail miserably.
PS The Roman Legions in the End were full of Aliens, not Citizens who would no longer fight for their own country.
Lightweight is right. The great majority of federally elected officials or those aspiring to become one (Romney, Palin) are in favor of amnesty. I have always been very leery of Rubio on this subject. He’s the type of politician that you have to keep an eye on even while sleeping. And yes, this will lead to a backdoor amnesty, these kids will be allowed to bring extended family members over, they will continue to demand that they be accommodated in their native language in spite of the fact that they can speak English, and they will continue to spit in the face of the US no matter how nice we are to them or how much we give them. This is why illegal immigration is such a nightmare. It’s human nature to only appreciate what one has earned and they haven’t earned it.
Question. Is Marco Rubio a natural born citizen? Were his parents born in the United States?
IS DE PRESIDENT OBAMA AMERICAN CITIZEN NO NO NO,
I’ve always been a strong “anti illegal alien” person and HATED the BUSH/MCCAIN/MARTINEZ (remember him?)DREAM ACT for many reasons. However, I agreed with Gingrich’s comments in the debates that we have to (AFTER SECRURING OUR BORDER) deal with the people that are already heare illegally. I also STRONGLY FAVOR “amnesty” for any young person who serves in our military. I wish Marco would name his bill something other than “Dream Act” but I belive Marco will propose something that is not blanket amnesty. The biggest problem that I had with the BUSH/MCCAIN/MARTINEZ Dream Act is that it allowed “in state tuition” to illegal aliens when it specifically allowed states to deny the same ti legal residents (i.e. studens whose parents recently moved out of state but were in State college). To me that part of the origingal dream act was evil. I’m pretty sure Marco does not want to leave the Senat with his tail between his legs as Martinex did.
[...] kicked about, and while he was Tea Party-backed in 2010 and has shown a lot of promise, his recent amnesty for illegals plans will throw a lot of cold water on conservatives (as well as open him up to the same hypocrisy [...]
Marco Rubio is for Marco Rubio. He refused to do anything about the million plus Illegals when he was house speaker in Florida as did David Rivera. Whats a pity is the Florida Tea Party backed him making them look clueless.
Yes Marco Rubio is a rising star, so was Obama before 2008 and look at the mess were in now!
Looks like Marco will be pulling for Orrin Hatch to win. That way he’ll at least have a co-sponsor or co-author at the get go.
Too bad Marco isn’t up this cycle too. Oh well…
Live and learn. When there is a Bush lurking behind the scenes of any candidacy, well, I’d recommend not bending over without someone covering your six. They are a slippery bunch.
Funny thing, I used to think that hapless tool Martinez was bad. Rubio looks like a glistening jewel in the window of Cartier compared to that doofus. The Bushes do learn on the fly.
Eternal Vigilance.

The proposal included in the book may be the answer Rubio(and America) are looking for. It clearly states that “any person who can pass a 10th grade English proficiency test would be given a path to citizenship.”
The “path” is not anmesty. It’s a probationary period that would require military, peace corp or another form of service to the country by those seeking citizenship. The Dream Act includes education that is often paid for by pell grants. That’s not fair to those in the country legally.
For those given the “path,” entitlements are not part of the equation. The plan is truly “a bridge for the moderates.” Rubio should embrace it! He wants to do the right thing.
There is limited space in colleges, every illegal alien attending college means there is an American student who can not get in. It is still wrong no matter who proposes the dream act.
why do you want those space? if most of the american drop the college before they get their AA.
Rich. no his parents were not national born.
Everyone who is not a legal citizen should have to go back where they came from, regardless of how long they have been breaking our laws and evading deportation. Then, from wherever that is, get in line like everyone else for legal citizenship. We should not be giving away free anything to these scoflaws!!!
Why should we be the world’s doormat! We have immigration laws for a reason. If we are not going to enforce them, why enforce any laws. Just live in anarchy!!!
Common sense works every time and this issue has been neglected for far too long. Dependency of illegals have taken hold for over 25 years and it will be hard to undo. If you are in this country illegal, it’s time to sell out and take all that you have earned and to back to your country of origin and apply to come back legally. You have broken our laws and have unkowningly hurt all citizens by being selfish in over staying your visit. This country is teetering on financial collapse and let it be known that our illegal population holds much of the responsiblity. Citizen’s who voted for any Democrat or Republican who used this segment to win votes are also to blame. Solution: Vote straight Republican to insure that this Democratic Party is thrown out of office so real and fair treatment be given to all. Romney will be my choice for the next president of the United States. Can we count on you to do the same?
Well, If your ancestors were from other country, what gives you the right on think like that? i know the england people came here long time ago and took the land from the native people and took Texas from Mexico no too long ago.
Dream Act means javier manjarres can stay. WIN!
Uncomfortable with our tendency to pass a law/government program regulating every thought, word and deed to reinforce what the political Right or the political Left want in human behavior.
As a libertarian, I believe in the free flow of capital and the free flow of labor. Really do not care if someome comes over here without papers — plenty of hard-working, uneducated Europeans from Italy, Ireland, China, Poland, Jewish, etc snuck over here to become self-reliant good Americans in the 19th Century.
What is severely disturbing is how low-income families can get on welfare so easily in this country. Yesteryear’s immigrants never had those benefits and excelled without them. Latino immigrants can do the same.
Fix the bankrupting welfare system. Make welfare very difficult to obtain for immigrant Americans.
Military service requiremants for immigrants is fine — Hispanics have a long-history of high rates of distinguished participation in our military.
Provding guaranteed college education is wrong; one-third of college degrees are almost meaningless in terms of economic development and earning future higher income. US does not need another major entitlement program that is race-based to help Latins.
