I think the Fair Tax is the best idea currently be floated in DC. Takes away the power from the government and gives it back to the people.
Isn’t Hank the one who said Guam would capsize if we put more troops on it?

Now just to be fair & balance, there’s certinly more dumb az whites in Washington than blacks. Starting at the top Biden, Reid…
Do though have to give Hank brownie points for showing up and displaying some intellgance.

      • Rich55 says:

Like you who can barely spell or craft a coherent sentence!!

        • Bill_B says:

My My aren’t you something,so what makes you so special ? Was there a FACT you’d like to disagree with ? Spell it out son, don’t just toss a childish line out and embarrass yourself like this.

          • Rich says:

Embarrass myself? You’re the one who posted the idiocy.

          • Bill_B says:

Ok Rich , I got it. You only have issue with the two spelling errors (btw I do commend you for at least having the aptitude to pick those out). So since that was your only point, it can only be surmise you have no quarrel and actully must agree on the substance of what was factually stated in the first place.

          • Earl says:

I just think the fact that you used race was idiotic..everyone makes spelling errors. Who cares what color he is?

          • Rich says:

            Here’s a fact for you.
There will NEVER be serious changes to the tax code until we take the money out of politics.
The politicians extort contributions/bribes in return for favorable changes to the tax code.
Asking them to make serious changes to the tax codes is like asking you or me to cut off our arms.

      • Bill_B says:

Earl, My first comment was tong & cheek, as in ‘now before someone goes and labels me a racist for picking on Hank’. You know, just like a good number of diehard obama supporters think one must be a racist for simply being outspoken against the president. To note: While color did get the man elected much because of white guilt, color has nothing to do with wanting the man out of office.

It’s good to hear, Democrats taking notice of the real problem. It’s not how much ‘more’ to tax citizens, it’s how much can we change the tax system to benefit the citizens. Fair Tax puts more power in the tax payers hands, and not the governments. That’s what we need. GIT-R-DONE!

    • FLChristyB says:

My question is, Why? Why would a liberal Dem support a Bill that clearly takes power, and the ability to hide more taxes, away from Congress? There is one really BIG stipulation in the FairTax Bill, and that is the repeal of the 16th amendment, it is possible they think they can ‘compromise’ by removing that stipulation, which would allow them to just add the consumption tax ON TOP of an income tax!! They have all been floating the idea of a VAT for the last 3 years, they are desperate to find new ways to steal our hard earned money, and since a VAT is clearly not going to fly, why not play this game where they look like the good guys, willing to work with Conservatives to revamp our onerous tax code, while undermining the most important detail of the Bill?

  3. GenEarly says:

Hope Springs Eternal and while I wouldn’t want to rain on the Democrats for Fair Tax Parade, when pigs fly. The Congressional RINO’s also aren’t going to give up their Pork and Spend campaign fundraising anymore than Obama.
Understand one fact: “It isn’t about you.” Then you can sleep better at night and not have so much political angst. It’s all a DC parlor game that you are tolerated at when election time rolls around.

    • BoGo says:

I’ve researched it and LOVE the Fair Tax. Unfortunately, you’re right in that it will never happen. It’s implications:

      * Would have to repeal the XVIth Amendment or we will be Europe (which has both an income AND VAT tax)

      * This would put lobbyists that push for special tax breaks out of business.

      * But the biggest reason, EVERYONE would have “skin in the game” with regard to taxes and spending priorities. It would UNITE the electorate, and they can’t have that.

    • Rich55 says:

That’s pretty bright coming from you.

The politicians won’t tolerate any major changes because dispensing tax breaks to campaign contributors/bribers is how they get rewarded with more campaign contributions/bribes.
Those clowns in DC would rather eat their children than do that.

Until the money is out of politics, you’re all flapping your gums for NOTHING!!

  4. ScotchLead says:

    GenEarly,

You are correct, as it presently stands.

The secret is for us yo Give Up the “Congressional RINOs”.

    Only voote for FairTax supporters.

  5. Larry Klutz says:

No candidate for a federal office can receive my support or vote without a vocal and public advocacy of the FAIR TAX and a commitment to work for it’s passage into law. Moreover, I will work to defeat any who oppose the FAIR TAX, especially those who demagogue it.

  6. [...] The Shark Tank: If you support the Fair Tax, you might be a Democrat. [...]

  7. Lowie says:

Scrap the current tax code that is very divisive. The current tax structure is strangling all of us and have made America less competive in the world economy. With the EU collapsing, America has a choice in Nov. 2012, become a socialist country with a more welfare state or structure the tax code to allow business to flurry and get full employment back resulting in prosperity for all.

  8. Mark Curran says:

As a former Fairtax cult member, I know how great the fraud SOUNDS if you are gullible. Point is, check the footnotes and fine print.

There are a few little “surprises” there

  9. Whit Palmer says:

This is a little better than worrying about that island tipping over.

  10. I have a way to pass the FairTax and I bet 1000 members would push for a change in the FairTax Bill.

$20… for a collectible coin that brings Democrats back to the FairTax is under design. 1.75 inches in Diameter… join facebook, Fairtax 2012.. see the front side of the coin now…

In a nutshell, I wish that all workers making less than 2x the poverty line for 2 consecutive years, after the FairTax is passed, would get an extra Prebate check for every month while still earning under 2x the poverty line tracked by the social security administration…
