  1. A sad day for faithful conservatives says:

Brett is a great man and stand out among Florida political consultants but he did not invent Pam Bondi’s viable candidacy. Pam was a solid, intelligent and tough prosecutor with a record, and thus a great candidate, and one who’s respected, as well as a conservative Republican.

By signing on with Mack IV, Brett sold his former impeccable conservative mantle, and at what a price. The grassroots are stunned. When principle is at stake, one should be deaf to expediency.

Connie Mack is RINO and has no credibility as a serious candidate. The hothead image Mack IV has, he deservedly earned for decades. Just this past Saturday he called a citizen “a jackass,” who asked him a question. How many Congressman do you know who behave like this? Mack IV twice has called “Paul Ryan’s plan a joke,” though Mack’s does not possess the intelligence/integrity Paul Ryan has in his pinky finger. Mack is not a conservative fiscally or socially.

What has Mack proposed the last 7 years (before the past year when he decided to tun) to rein in the budget? The debt is the biggest national security threat to America. As a Congressman, Mack IV votes repeatedly for destroying human life with the taxpayer’s money, though ironically he called Gov. Jan Brewer “a Nazi” for signing a bill to enforce the rule of law on illegal immigration in Arizona against drug lords and murderers crossing the border into their state.

Brett shouldn’t have put his good name on this campaign which will go down like the Titanic. Mack IV is no friend to conservative policy, and hiring Brett does not change that fact.

  2. Reaganista says:

I was exposing the treachery of Crist and his minions (including LeMieux) long before it was popular to do so. During the early stages of the Florida Senate Primary race in 2010 I defended Marco Rubio against their attacks. I always did all this openly without hiding my identity.

One of the many things the LeMieux supporters in 2012 have in common with the backstabber Crist supporters of 2010 is the fact that they so “courageously” hide behind the anonymity of a computer screen to launch attacks at their opponents: Everything from their idiotic fake twitter accounts and their anonymous blog posts to anonymous attack websites, the Crist/LeMieux modus operandi remains consistent, which is about the only thing that is consistent about these hacks. The author of the post above at 12:58 is no different.

Brett Doster has always been a solid conservative, and unlike many of the political prostitute consultants we see running around looking to get “picked up” by candidates du jour, Brett has always been deliberative in who he works for. He has never worked for a backstabbing RINO for as long as I’ve known him. Instead, he seeks to advance the cause of conservatism by lending his talents to the campaigns of qualified conservatives.

Bondi was a good conservative candidate to begin with, yes. But she lacked the statewide recognition necessary to win a statewide race on her own. To say Doster was not instrumental in introducing her to the state’s conservative grassroots base, which propelled her to a primary victory against a sitting lt. governor is preposterous.

    But I digress.

Let’s talk a little about newfound Tea Party suckup George LeMieux.

George is a master campaigner. He was not Charlie Crist’s maestro for nothing.

Take a liberal Democrat who is an expert in messaging and focus groups and pay him to craft a message and sound like a Tea Party supporter. Odds are, that person may sound more convincing, appealing, articulate, and even knowledgeable about our conservative positions than many of our own Tea Party activists and elected officials. Does this mean he is with us? Absolutely not.

I caution those of us in the conservative movement to not fall for George LeMieux. He is a fraud and the reason I know this is because I judge his character by when he was on top of the political world as Charlie Crist’s gatekeeper, chief advisor, hatchetman, enabler, and head cheerleader. Remember, LeMieux not only advised Crist on what policy positions to take, but also on how to execute them. Everything from Crist’s cap-and-trade scheme and global warming conferences, to electing to publicly endorse Obama’s stimulus were things that LeMieux was there to advise Crist on.

If LeMieux is the movement conservative he claims to be, wouldn’t he have resigned in protest?

No, instead, he touted Charlie Crist EVEN AFTER he left his side. LeMieux would travel the state after he was no longer Crist’s chief-of-staff calling himself a “Charlie Crist Republican.” I repeat: he did this AFTER he left the governor’s office and returned to private practice. No real conservative would do this.

Once appointed to the Senate, LeMieux was already in campaign mode for a position he knew he would be running for in two short years in what would no doubt be a hotly contested GOP Primary. George is not dumb–he knew he had to do, say, and act just like we GOP Primary voters would want him to in those few months in the Senate in hopes that his decent record in that short time might somehow erase our memory of all those years he undermined us.

Privately, it was totally different. He held fundraisers for Charlie Crist, he talked to donors, lobbyists, and fellow senators to not support Rubio, and he did everything he could behind the scenes to help Crist become the nominee.

It’s no surprise Senate RINOs such as SUSAN COLLINS, JOHN MCCAIN, and LISA MURKOWSKI have all endorsed LeMieux.

When Crist finally bolted the party, he had to make the only politically rational decision to save his own political hide: reluctantly endorse Rubio, after he privately badmouthed him and tried to poison the well for him in DC.

My suggestion is to judge a politician’s character by his actions when he doesnt need anything from us (i.e., how LeMieux acted while he was on top of the political world in Florida as Crist’s right-hand man), not when he’s trying to get you to vote for him.

Don’t be fooled: A few months of good behavior in the Senate does not erase LeMieux’s years of throwing in with the left on issue after issue, using the Fla GOP as a PR machine to legitimize Crist’s mischief, and undermining the candidacy of true conservatives such as Marco Rubio.

Mack isn’t a perfect candidate, but he never undermined conservatism the way LeMieux did all those years.

  3. The Right to life is preeminent says:

Mr Reaganista why dont you run for the Senate? There’s still time you know. I think you would be a great candidate.

The slaughtered unborn in human embryo research would beg to differ with the comment about Connie Mack IV not “undermining conservatism” (including his decades long political affair and undying support for Charlie Crist), but since the preborn human embryos are not here any longer, you won’t be hearing from them.

Neither are perfect candidates, but the line is drawn at the life issue, and if you want to “judge a candidate’s character when they don’t need anything from you” google the St Pete Times article here on February 17th. His record spans more than 2 decades.

And Mack has recently twice called “Paul Ryan’s budget a joke,” who is the conservative Mack IV or Paul Ryan?
