The U.S. Senate Republican primary race in Florida is in full swing, and potential Republican voters are wondering who will be the candidate that will best represent them in the U.S. Senate, working along side U.S. Senator Marco Rubio.
The top two candidates in the race, Congressman Connie Mack and former U.S. Senator George LeMieux are trying to prove to the Republican electorate who is the more conservative candidate of the two. On the surface, both candidates seem to have a fairly conservative voting record during their respective stints in Congress, but it’s time that we start paying closer attention to these two candidates and scrutinize their votes.
On September 27, 2010, President Barack Obama signed into law the Small Business Jobs Plan of 2010. This jobs plan was widely rejected by Republicans in the Congress and was referred to as a “mini-TARP”. Then Senatorial candidate and now U.S. Senator Marco Rubio joined other conservative candidates and Republicans in Congress denouncing this bill as just another ‘bailout’.
So how did Mack vote in the House of Representatives, and how did LeMieux vote on the Senate side?
(No)Congressman Connie Mack sided with Senator Jim DeMint, and the rest of the Republican caucus in the Congress, and voted against President Obama’s jobs bill. (Source)
(Yes)Senator George LeMieux was one of two Republican Senators that broke the Republican filibuster in the Senate, and voted in favor of President Obama’s Small Business Jobs bill. For his efforts, President Barack Obama openly thanked LeMieux at a Rose Garden press conference touting the passage of the bill in the Senate.
For months, the Republican leadership in the senate has said ‘NO’. For months they have used legislative maneuvers to prevent this bill from even coming up for a vote. Now thankfully, two Republican Senators, George Voinovich and George LeMeiux, have refused to support this blockade any longer. And because of their decision, this small business jobs bill will finally pass. I want to thank them for their efforts, because they understand that we simply don’t have time anymore to play games.- President Barack Obama( See video below)

Allen West for U.S. Senate 2012!!!!
U can’t trust LeMieux… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkCGL7PdOrQ
“Meww, mew, Lemeiux”…sounds like a pussy to me. And that’s the way he voted.
YES!
If George gets in the Senate for good he will be just like his buddy Charlie and vote with the Democrats!

This is proof that LeMieux will always be a Charlie Crist Republican, and is not a conservative
Yes Mike, we call them RINO’s (Republicans in name only)
Hey George, how does it feel to side with a traitor of a president…your true colors are showing. CONNIE MACK for Florida Senator!!!
Many of those who fell for the “Great Lie” in 2008 are now having buyer’s remorse. With all the education we gave you, you didn’t have sense enough to see through the lies and instead drank the ‘Kool-Aid.’ Now you’re paying the price and complaining about it. No jobs, lost mortgages, higher taxes, and less freedom. This is what you voted for and this is what you got.
We entrusted you with the Torch of Liberty and you traded it for a paycheck and a fancy house.
Well, don’t worry youngsters, the Grey-Haired Brigade is here, and in 2012 we are going to take back our nation.
We may drive a little slower than you would like but we get where we’re going, and in 2012 we’re going to the polls by the millions.
This land does not belong to the man in the White House nor to the likes of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. It belongs to “We the People” and “We the People” plan to reclaim our land and our freedom.
We hope this time you will do a better job of preserving it and passing it along to our grandchildren.
So the next time you have the chance to say the Pledge of Allegiance, Stand up, put your hand over your heart, honor our country, and thank God for the old geezers of the “Grey-Haired Brigade.”
Hey Polk,
Don’t ya know that plagerism is a crime. Come on, fess up. You copied most of what you said, din’t ya?

Go to http://www.stuart2012.com and check out Marielena Stuart. Our tea parties thinks she’s great. One thing for sure – she will certainly be on our side. No worry about how she will vote! She hasn’t had all the publicity. I HATE how the media ignores some and promotes others. All should get publicity.
This lady knows all about Agenda 21. She has lived it. Knows all the words, phraseologies, what it all really means. Check her site and help us help her get in the limelight; so, people can get to know her and choose a candidate they will be proud of and happy with. Check it out, patriots! Read her history! You’ll see.
Thank you.
Candidate Stuart will get my vote in the primary!
She will represent us well. Next month she will be at our REC with all the rest and she will shine and rise up against these politicians. A true Conservative that knows the ills of the world and the UN evils here in America.
I just wonder if the truth will ever come out about the Climate hoax we are living under? Communism is nipping at our toes and she sees it, I see it when every word is REGIONAL this regional that, Central Planning and Public Private Partnerships coming out of Tally and the Whitehouse paying off in re-elections for crony capitalism. We need the free market back to save tis country folks and trade agreements must be understood and Stuart understands the globalism in the agreements.
I’m still undecided in this race. However I would like to point out Connie Mack doesn’t even live in Florida. He lives in California with his wife.
I would like to see more of him in Florida asst least if he’s going to say he represents us.
I guess he misses Charlie (Idiot) Christ, let him go marry him!!!!!!!!
We Need a PROVEN Florida CONSERVATIVE….
Former Congressman,Dr. Dave Weldon of Melbourne.
Het folks we do have a alternative She is from Southwest Florida a citizen-candidate WITH ZERO POLITICAL BAGGAGE………
We had her at our last meeting of the SWBRC an she was great. Her family is 100% behind her.Her name is MARIELENA STUART. Go to http://www.stuart2012.com for information and more information…
As for me I am sick and tired of the people in on Thursday out on Monday. I want nothing to do with the standard Republican Leadership the charlie crists of the ZBREC and the well it was decided at Talahassee by the leaders is that the real reason we had a early primary that accomplished exactly what? Made some TV stations and newqspapers rich what did it do for the party? It allowed us to give away 1/2 the delegates to the National Convention really smart idea?
Why would Florida voters even consider electing someone who is NOT a resident of the State? The fact that Mack’s father was a big wig here carry’s absolutely NO weight with me! Why can’t the GOP field any good candidates? Where is the Tea Party when you need them?
stop the whine.. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR THE PARTY LATELY? Are YOU out with the TEA PARTY? Do YOU volunteer at Republican Headquarters? Make phone calls to get out the vote? Or, do you just criticize and spew sarcazim?
We HAVE good candidates.. and nobody really cares to see you pulling them down… that is HELPING the democrats.. my little wig.
Rush Limbaugh explained on his May 4 talk radio show: “In Indiana, Richard Mourdock is a Tea Party candidate. He is going up against the Republican establishment, and the Republican establishment’s trying to destroy him. He’s being outspent ten to one (we’re talking millions of dollars) against a Jurassic Park entrenched incumbent: Dick Lugar. … The Tea Party hasn’t gone anywhere, folks. They’re only getting better and bigger.”
Except maybe in Floriduh. California Playboy Mack or Dimicat RINO Pepe’ Le Mieux ? Duh, What do I do?
Tea Party has heard from and many support Marilena Stuart but it’s hard to get your message out past the Sharkie’s Filibuster.
But we keep communicating as long as the 1st Amendment is honored here: Stuart2012.com
LeMieux voted for the Food Stalinization Act S510 – That’s all you need to know.
Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
This bill might have been one of those times. Voting against the President on the basis that he’s a Democrat isn’t always in the best interest of the country.
This bill used funds already borrowed under TARP, so it didn’t increase the debt (yes, the money could have been used to retire some debt). This was actually a good bill, believe it or not. It expanded and loosened many SBA loans and lending requirements. It allowed for refinancing into SBA 504 loans, taking high rate short term commercial loans into 20 or 25 yr fixed loans. Increased the cap for 1st year equipment depreciation. Which could save tons of taxes for small businesses that purchase new equipment to upgrade and expand. Expanded the SBA micro loan program.
During a time where banks were still not lending to small business, because small banks which historically lent to small community businesses were being gobbled up by the big national banks, this bill actually made sense.
So before hammering George for this vote, understand what he was voting on. Voting for or against something solely on party lines will never move this country in the right direction. I suggest you check out George’s voting record, you’ll see he’s got a very conservative record. The same can’t be said for Connie “where’s waldo” Mack, who runs on his name and nothing else.
Crist fell off the reservation, not Lemieux. If you’re concerned about Lemieux because he was friends with Crist then how can you not be concerned with he woman Mack married?? Ever check out her voting record?? Let’s get real people.
Mack is a career politician who never had a job in his life, has no idea how you and I live, barely can find Florida on a map. Wake up and smell the coffee.
It is unfortunate that people vote against their own interest. It is not understanding the real issues and falling for political rhetoric. Republicans talk about helping the Small Business man, and turn around and vote against bills that help SMALL Business. They always vote FOR big business. When a sensible Republican votes for a bill that helps small business he is castigated because the bill was sponsored by the Democratic Party. Rush is a billionaire, he doesn’t know how the average American lives and he doesn’t care as long as he can spout lies, hate and bigotry and gets paid $50 million a year. Unfortunately many good caring Americans believe him. People lets take the blinders off. Country First, Party Last. As a Soldier I fought for America not a party.
Try to understand the issues, search for the truth, don’t believe every loudmouth you hear. Remember the current situation was not started by President Obama, he inherited it and has been trying har to get us out of the mess created by the previous President and Wall Street. The rpeople who got us into this situation are fighting every proposal that will get us out. Obama Care helps those who need it and helps to reduce costs. It was first proposed by the Republicans and when President Obama embraced it they are now against it. Read The Bill for yourself.

The GOP Propaganda never stops does it ? As you are trying to pin down someone on TARP,you should list all the GOP Politicians who supported TARP ? And those Politicians who were not in office, yet supported TARP in debate like Sarah Palin,John McCain,Marco Rubio and Mitt Romney ? It’s the same game of Obama is for Gay Marriage and he is being hounded but you will not do a history on Romney record on the issue. This is why the GOP will see a bigger Rebuke in 2012 than they did in 2008.
Connie Mack all the way
Obama thanks Le Mieux and I thanks Obama for helping me to make my mind.
I always thought of George Lemieux like a Charlie Crist Clone.
Now I am sure of it. My vote is definetly for Connie Mack.
Floridians need to give candidate Mike McCallister a good look. He isn’t a phony conservative
Why aren’t any of you taking a good look at Connie Mack? His personal life is a mess including one Jacksonville arrest. Bar fights as a young man, road rage incidents, domestic incidents, liens and lawsuits arising from financial problems associated with a divorce made for a tawdry tale. Is this really the man you think should be in office?
Did you ever think that Obama may have thanked George publicly in order to move votes away from him?
Please. Read the last sentence you wrote.
“Did you ever think that Obama may have thanked George publicly in order to move votes away from him?”
This incident was back in September, 2010…How on earth would Obama purposely try to take votes away from LeMieux, when: A)LeMieux hadn’t announce his intentions to run for the Senate until 2011 B)Rubio hadn’t even won his seat until later that year
C’mon Pat, this is pathetic. I will give you the rest of your statement about Macks problems.
Javier….Obama thanked LeMieux in September 2010 because LeMieux was in the U.S Senate at that time. Former Gov. Charlie Crist had appointed LeMieux to replace Mel Martinez who resigned in Aug. 2009. So LeMieux held that seat in 2010 until Rubio beat Crist in the Nov. 2010 election. Now LeMieux is running for Bill Nelson’s seat. Looking at his voting record he should run as a Democrat rather than a Republican.
Pat; Nothing is more shamefull than having used drugs for a long time
and elect that person as your President.
Obama fits the model 100%.
I have no confidence or trust in anyone who was appointed by Charlie Crist (to keep the seat warm until Charlie got elected… or so he thought he would be elected).
[...] Shark-Tank did a report over the week-end titled Obama Thanks George LeMieux for Breaking Ranks With Republicans, which focused on Obama’s praise of George LeMieux’s vote for the Small Business Jobs [...]
Tom, you seem to be using your Tea Party status to back a Republican candidate over another. We get it,you support LeMieux, that’s ok with me. Just be objective, if you can.
I’ll take a guy like Mack that lives in another state any day over a guy like LeMieux who is a Charlie Crist Republican that gets thanked by Obama! JUST SAY NO TO GEORGE LEPU!
George are you supporting Gay marriage too?
Rather than the candidates named above, I suggest we learn more about Col. Mike McCalister, (USAR-Ret) He has 33 yrs in the military with a Commisioned Officer rank, a businessman with real world experience, education, healthcare, agriculture and communications.
He’s already a Tea Party conservative and speaks the truth about America’s problems. He says, “Together, Barack Obama and Bill Nelson are destroying our country with their reckless policies.”
I think we should learn and hear more on what he wants to do if elected to the Senate.

I agree with Pragmatic Conservative’s comments. Lemieux stood firm on health care and cap and trade and has experience to be effective Senator.
