The resounding Wisconsin recall election victory by Governor Scott Walker has ramifications here in Florida, as it will pretty much end any remaining hopes held by opponents of Florida Governor Rick Scott who wished to follow through on a recall effort against him.
The ‘Pink Slip Rick Scott’ movement may very well have been derailed for the remainder of Scott’s term, as organized labor and the liberal wing of the Democratic Party received a substantial thumping that will likely carry over into November’s general election.
Several political observers predicted that a 6 point win or more for Walker would spell defeat for Obama in November- with nearly 90% of the vote counted, Walker was up over 9 points- the silent majority has truly spoken, and there is simply no good way for DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz to spin her way out of the enormity of this defeat. And as President Obama continues to lag in the polls, the focus of Democrat efforts may have to shift from attacking more vulnerable Republicans to damage control efforts on behalf of the President.
**Note-There is a recall effort against Governor Scott. However, governing statutes prohibit a recall from actually occurring.
Looks like the ‘Pink Slippers’ have just received their own pink slip- kudos to Wisconsinites.

@ Peter Schorsch, are you still mad that Javier hooked up with your girlfriend?
Hilarious!
Green Eyed Goddess strikes again.
I would love to be a fly on the wall at the next Republican Governor’s meeting. Toasts to Scott Walker, and well deserved, too.

I wish everyone would stop calling the DEMOCRAT party the democratic party. Democrat is different than being democratic – I find it misleading to people who are coming from other countries and melding into our country. Many think that because they’re “democratic”, they care more about democracy.
I agree Sam … but for other reasons … this country is not democratic and was never intended to be so. It is in fact a Republic — as has been quoted over and over again from Ben Franklin — however, the Republican party is not the embodiment of the Republic by any stretch of the imagination. What we should say is we are a country guided by the ideals and agendas of foreign nations, lobbyists’ personal priorities, crony capitalism with 635 crooks and thieves in federal office that should all be tried for treason and shot as war time criminals.
We are a Representative Republic!
Yet we hold aspects of a democracy; while we as citizens do not vote on every governmental issue (as in the case of a pure democracy), we do, as a whole, vote for our representatives who in turn vote on our behalf.
There are at least a handful of Congresscritters that are worth saving.
Unions in our country are soar losers that care only about “feathering their own nests.” Voters in Wisconsin did the right
thing and unions across the country should take heed. The modern day
Democrat Party has become the socialist arm of America’s political system and should be destroyed. I will vote a straight Republican ticket November 6 to insure the world that Ameica stands for freedom, liberty, AND capitalism and all that goes with it.
Coming from a guy who uses the wrong term for sore.
Typical Ignorant Tea Part lout.
Don’t you have a street corner to wave a sign at?
Gat a grip, SUX (appropriate name for you, BTW)….it’s the internet, people type fast. If that’s all you can do is be the spelling police whilst name-calling, well…guess who comes out looking dumber? Yep, that would be you.
Don’t you have a child to abandon, person to murder, arson to set, security guard to kidnap, cop car to crap on, child to throw in front of a train, port to shutdown, or women to rape OWS freak?
What an ignorant posting.
GOP SUX – WOW!!! How original – what an upberat message and signficant contribution to the overall discussion here.
I suggest you go spend some time atr an OWS encampment – you write like someone that hasn’t taken a bath in about 3 months. You stink.
Viva Rick Scott, he is doing what it’s necessary to be sure that our great state of Florida does not become California.
All hail the rich evil super villain Governor Rick Scott.
Just goes to show Republicans don’t care about anything other than how much money they can get away with stuffing into their pockets.
BTW Javier why don’t you write a story on what a douche you were at West’s function yesterday?
I wasn’t at West’s function yesterday. You have me confused with someone else.
*laughs* Is that what we are all about? Did you even ask us? Who’s jumping to conclusions, here?
What’s a Tea Part?
It would seem that the work sore was misspelled and not the misuse of a term. It always amazes that liberals can only respond to conservative positions with name-calling. It is my understanding that Romney never has taken a paycheck for his public service and I have also heard the same about Rick Scott. It is a difficult position for a liberal to debate with examples like Obama who parlayed his position as a community organizer into a multi-million dollar fortune and the Clintons who entered the White House with modest means and left with a considerable fortune. The comparison is stunning. The rantings of the left seem to be converting thinking moderates into conservatives at a brisk pace. Keep up the good work Mr. Sux.
Rightly so…that Governor Scott is sustained up by the Governor Walker victory. Scott is doing a good job, all the time having to endure the bigotry and lies from the leftist liberals, both within and without our state.
It is long past time in Florida to abolish the government unions. For those in government work, if you don’t like what’s occurring, feel free to resign and get a job in the private sector more to your liking.
Hey El Sharko – the Pink Slip Rick movement has never initiated recall efforts. Ever. They’re a branding campaign that uses Rick Scott and his toxicity to fight against the extremism in Florida and Romney’s out
of touch, anti-middle class policies- given PPP’s recent poll with Scott at a 31% approval rating- I’d say they’re doing a pretty good job putting him “on the ticket” in 2012.
I’m with Kenny above! When are we going to get the trials started? I think all states ( several have ) should require proof of citizenship to be on a ballot, especially the presidential ballot and before this coming election!!! The democratic party should be renamed to the socialist party. This reminds me of Nazi Germany in the 1930′s.
Has anyone read about Roger Barnett a rancher in Arizona? Here’s a link to the article. This should never happen in AMERICA!!!

It was outrageous and then hilarious to watch CNN s coverage of the WI recall
Gloria Borger did the impossible to portray Gov Walker s victory as the result of money pouring
she as a good liberal that she is would never admit that Walker s success obeys to his vertical position
and his courage to stand against abusive unions
To win this big in a blue state is remarkable but the mainstream press is not happy with it.
Also poor John King tried to make a contest with a bunch of county maps -vastly red-hoping that some pf the blues
would come up big for Barnett. Never happened and CNN s night was a nightmare
Great comments Rodolfo! It will be extremely entertaining to watch the MSM on election night when there man Barry goes down big time!

Rick Scott, we, the people support you.
Sharkey – same to you!
Ever seen the cars in the “Pink Slip Rick” headquarters in downtown Orlando? They’re picketing for the “working class” while driving high end cars! Most of them are clearly from the one percent and have been padding their pockets with union dues. The working class is nothing more than pawns in their game to push their progressive socialist agenda. What they forget is the majority who pays the taxes, instead of using loop holes to get out of it, are too busy working to be wasting time picketing on street corners. We are a silent majority that has successfully rallied against them. Conservatives are done with the nonsense of race-baiting, hypocrisy from these amoral, progressive loons. You want socialism? Then move to Europe, Venezuela, Cuba, or China! See how much freedom you have when you are a ward to the government. Governor Scott…keep up the great work!
Florida has no law permitting recall anyway so it is a moot point.
Nice pooch pic
