DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago and had to undergo a double mastectomy to treat the disease. Dealing with Cancer is a very sensitive topic for all of us who have been affected by it, so lets tread lightly.
Earlier today, Congressional Candidate Karen Harrington, who is running for Congress to unseat Congresswoman Wasserman Schultz, took issue with the fact that Congresswoman Wasserman Schultz was “exploiting” her cancer survival story to fundraise for the Democrat National Commitee (DNC).
Harrington did not hold back her thoughts when she stated that “Debbie’s exploitation of her past condition is nothing less than despicable, and a shameful attempt of pandering to the emotions of everyone who has had a family member, a friend, or associate, affected by this deadly disease.”
It’s a no-brainer to assume that Harrington’s outrage at Congresswoman Wasserman Schultz actions are based on the fact that she is also a cancer survivor. Harrington, who has had three different bouts with cancer mentions her cancer survival on her campaign website, and she occasionally mentions it during campaign events.
While Harrington’s mentioning of her cancer survival on her website could also be considered a form of exploitation, Harrington has not attempted to promote her political agenda by sending out a fundraiser ask to constituents that references her past battle with cancer.

Congresswoman Wasserman Schultz recently sent out an fundraising letter for the Democratic National Committee, saying that “this fight is personal to me” and that “I want to do everything I can to protect the health care of every American.”
“While my sympathy goes out to her and other women who have, and are currently fighting all forms of Cancer, the Congresswoman is wrong to exploit her cancer story by asking her constituents to “Donate $3 or more today to make sure Romney and Republicans can’t take away our health care.”

How does the email she sent out exploit her bout with Cancer? I read it twice and it didn’t mention Cancer.
It’s in the intro above the quote from her letter.
I honestly don’t think DWS’ mention of her prior medical status was really that over the top.
To defeat Debbie Wasserman Schultz we need the most electable candidate and that candidate is Juan Eliel Garcia.

Karen Harrington is an awful person.
We don’t need any more Allen West types spewing their vitriol in Congress from Broward County Florida. maybe she can take her Chicken Wing Show on the road like West and find miscreants who find her garbage more palatable.

I am a 22 year cancer survivor. I tell my story when I can so that others will learn to get regular checkups and be as fortunate as I am. I think Wasserman Schultz has done and said some disgusting things about conservatives and about Republicans. But I don’t think she’s gone over the line here. It would be no different than Harrington saying “I care about education” because she has children. While I think Wasserman Schutlz’s support of Obamacare is misguided, I do not doubt her or criticize her when she says “I’m a cancer survivor, I care about health care.”

Dealing with cancer has nothing to do with some of the things she has said. she is nothing but a left wing, liberal, nut case who will do anything to kiss nobama’s ass.
DWS could care less about people and their insurance.. She is covered by the congressional cadilac of all cadilac policies.. She paid not a dime out of pocket in premiums or co pays..
I too have had a mastectomy but from what I understand hers was kept a secret at the time.Was she afraid the word cancer would keep her from reelection at the time.
It also concerns me she did not vote to include herself and other members of congress in the wonderful plan the bureaucrats and IRS will be overseeing for the rest of us peons.Please be responsible and vote for Harrington.

DWS is such a hypocrite. it wasn’t too long ago when obama was wanting to change insurance rules to women being checked after 40 and only once every TWO years. I thought that seemed really odd coming from a cancer surviour, I tried to email her office to ask why she would accept that for all women and aske her if she thought she would of been here now if she would of waited TWO years to be diagnoised but unless you are in her voting district your calls and emails are ignored.
