Congresswoman Michele Bachmann’s recent letter to the Department of State expressing her concerns about the possible infiltration of radical Islam throughout the federal government has received pushback from moderate Republican senators John McCain and Scott Brown.
McCain called Bachmann’s letter “scurrilous” and full of “sinister accusations,” and categorized the questioned raised about Hillary Clinton’s Deputy Chief of Staff Huma Abedin as “nothing less than an unwarranted and unfounded attack on an honorable citizen, a dedicated American and a loyal public servant.” You can read Bachmann’s letter here. Predictably, the Palm Beach Post is raising the specter of “McCarthyite tactics” being used by Rooney for simply signing the document.
Perhaps somewhat more surprisingly, Senator Marco Rubio has waded into this controversy and has sided with his Senate colleagues against Bachmann and Florida Congressman Tom Rooney, who has also signed Bachmann’s letter. Senator Rubio responded to the Shark Tank’s request for further comment by stating, “I stand by my statements.”
Question- would Rubio be taking a similar position if Abedin was Cuban and had family members with close ties to the Communist regime of Fidel Castro?
Rubio, who sits on the ‘temporary’ Select Committee on Intelligence, said the following in regards to the matter-
“Everyone I talk to who has dealt with her, [says she is] a professional and hardworking and patriotic American who loves her country and in the service of her country is serving it.”
“I am not a signatory to that letter,” Rubio said of Bachmann’s letters to the inspectors general of several national security agencies demanding investigations. “I don’t share the feelings that are in that letter. Obviously, every member of Congress has a right to express their opinion and every member of Congress is held accountable for their opinion, if they’re right or if they’re wrong.”
“I can tell you that I don’t share the feelings that are in that letter,” he continued, “And in fact, I’m very very careful and cautious about ever making accusations like that about anyone.”-Senator Marco Rubio (Salon)
While Salon is no doubt spinning Rubio’s reaction being a condemnation of Bachmann, what is perplexing is why Rubio appears to be so risk-adverse and hesitant to ask some common-sense national security questions in this matter. After reading the letter, there is nothing wrong with the questions Bachmann and her colleagues have raised, regardless of whether they’re perceived as inconvenient questions by Democrats. We are not sure if Rubio read the whole letter or was impulsively reacting to a snippet of information that he may have been briefed on by one of his aides, but Bachmann’s questions are valid ones and should not be dismissed out of hand.
Bachmann questioned Abedin’s family connections to the Muslim Brotherhood, and she made it clear that Abedin was not being singled out. Bachmann rightly questioned how Abedin received such high security clearance given her family’s membership with the Muslim Brotherhood. If you or I were trying to obtain a TS clearance from either the federal government or as a civilian contractor and it was discovered during the vetting process that we had immediate family members who were affiliated with a terrorist organization, we would be rejected for the same security clearance that Abedin currently has.
Here is the section of Bachmann’s letter that mentions Abedin’s possible ties to the Muslim Brotherhood-(Click here to read the whole document)
Considering the following red flags that have popped up about her family’s relationship with radical Islam, including her late father, Syed Zainul Abedin’s ties, Bachmann’s letter seems to have merit. Abedin is also close to newly elected Muslim Brotherhood-backed Egyptian President Mohammed Mursi. (Source-Shoebat)
1. Abedin’s mother is not only a member of the Muslim Sisterhood, but also sits on the Guidance Board of that organization. Making her not only a member of the Muslim Brotherhood’s female auxiliary, but also a prestigious member.
2. Another member of the Muslim Sisterhood’s Guidance Bureau is Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi’s wife, which means Abedin’s mother and the wife of an renowned Muslim Brotherhood member are in regular and frequent contact.
3. Lastly, Abedin’s brother, Hassan Abedin, has allegedly collaborated with Omar Naseef and Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, two of the most influential terror supporters in the world. -Breitbart
Frontpage’s Robert Spencer adds this-
And in Abedin’s case, there are ample reasons for raising these questions. Her father, Syed Z. Abedin, was a professor in Saudi Arabia who founded the Institute for Muslim Minority Affairs, an organization supported by the Muslim World League, a Brotherhood organization. Her mother, Saleha Mahmoud Abedin, is a member of the Muslim Sisterhood, the Brotherhood’s adjunct organization for women. The Brotherhood itself is in its own words, according to a captured internal document, dedicated to “eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within and sabotaging its miserable house.”-Robert Spencer (Source)
Unfortunately, Senators McCain and Brown are taking the politically correct approach to national security and would prefer not to upset anyone’s feelings than ask the hard questions that need to be asked. If only McCain went after potential threats to our national security with the same vigor he has attacked conservatives in the past and now Bachmann in this instance, we would be a hell of a lot safer.
As many anti-terrorism experts around the world will point out, radical Islamists will do just about anything to impose their radical ideology onto every culture as well as attempt to subvert non-Islamic governments- radical Islam’s track record of attacks in the United States, Europe, and Africa is clear as day.
The State Department was previously infiltrated in 2009 when Kendall Myers, a State Department Intelligence Analyst was arrested for espionage and charged with being a Cuban spy for thirty years. He too had a very high security clearance, so is it too far fetched to at least ask Abedin some very pointed questions about her family members? (Source-U.K.Telegraph)
Bachmann is simply asking for a inquiry into Abedin and her very questionable associations to the Muslim Brotherhood. For Rubio to side with his Senate colleagues in their efforts to delegitimize Bachmann is premature at best, completely uncalled for at worst. Was Rubio wrong to side against Bachmann?

IMO Rubio is completely wrong to not side with Bachmann. She is raising legitimate questions that no one else in Congress is asking. islam is a scourge to humanity, and is the second greatest threat to the republic!
(The greatest threat is Congress!)
I agree! I support Bachmann! Rubio is showing his RINO colors and he is not a “Naturl Born Citizen”. McCain is McCain, bending over the aisle again for what? To get scr-wed? He is worthless.
The threshold question should be, “Why did Rubio even feel he had to enter the discussion?” Bachmann and the other signatories of the “letter” voiced legitimate concerns for the Inspector General to investigate.
Considering that Congress and the Obama administration couldn’t keep a secret if their lives depended on it, the “letter” voices a timely and legitimate concern. The “letter” was kept in generalities so as not to specifically accuse anyone of traitorous activity, but only to raise the obvious issue of whether vetting guidelines should be tighter in highly sensitive situations.
You have to take into account that Senator Marco Rubio has endorsed Barack Obama’s Middle East policy to overthrow all the countries that can get along with Israel. Rubio again lied when he said he supported Israel. So Rubio’s opinion on Bachman is already discredited.
Michellle Bachman is just a political mercenary using this issue in an election cycle. She said absolutely nothing during the 2008 primaries as a law suit was filed challegning Obama’s birth certificate. She remained silent for 3 years until 2011 when the news of Dr.Jerome Corcey’s book on Obama’s birth certificate was hitting the market, then she goes on TV waving her birth cerrtificate in competition of Obama’s job.She discredits herself.
You strike me as a loon and you want Bachmann to go out on a limb and be every bit the loon you are. If she’s not absolutely convinced Obama was not born in Hawaii as he claims, she would be foolhardy to join you and Jerome Corsi, (World Net Daily) Joseph Farah’s friend and colleague. Keep in mind, Farah said he did not vote for George W. Bush – I think he voted for Buchanan, the Nazi-sympathizer – in 2000 because he (Bush) was essentially a traitor who did not adhere to the U.S. Constitution. Then Farah endorsed Bush in 2004 for re-election. After 8 years of Bush and his lies about Islam and Israel we get Barack H. Obama. Now Farah is beside himself that he betrayed his own principles by endorsing a man he thought was a traitor. What else does he have but the birth issue? Farah has no one to blame but himself.
Let me try this again:
Jerome Corsi is (World Net Daily) Joseph Farah’s friend and colleague. Keep in mind, Farah said he did not vote for George W. Bush – I think he voted for Buchanan, the Nazi-sympathizer – in 2000 because he (Bush) was essentially a traitor who did not adhere to the U.S. Constitution. As I have been saying, Rubio is nothing but an establishment, soon to be Rino. Nothing more, nothing less. And anyone who thinks differently is badly mistaken.
You people just don’t get it.
These guys and gals are POLITICIANS pure and simple.
They are out for THEMSELVES, all of them, your darling Mr. West, too.
How much do you want to bet that when Mr. West gets out of office he GLADLY double dips both his Congressional and military pensions that WE pay for and that you want to take away from the cops, teachers, firefighters, etc.
These people, once they get into office, see just how cushy Washington life is and now the most important thing is to get campaign contributions/bribes to stay in office so the TAXPAYERS, you and I can subsidize their lifestyles.
They can and will answer to their corporate masters before they do anything that YOU want them to do.
If you don’t vote to take the money, all the money, out of politics so the politicians aren’t bought and sold like whores on Saturday night, nothing will change either way.
get em mrs. michele bachman,
What’s she going to get?
Her farm subsidies that you and I pay for??
She’s a hack trying to make a name for herself so she can rake in more campaign contributions/bribes, nothing more.
I do not think Rubio is trying to delegitimize Bachmann. His not signing does not prove he does not agree with Bachmann on issues regarding the Muslim Brotherhood. Perhaps Rubio has other ways/plans to address this.To be more effective each Sen should write and send his/her own letter.
Sen. Rubio doesn not need to delegitimize Mrs. Bachmann, she does a wonderful job of it all by her little self.
Ask her to tell you where the embassy in Teheran is some day??
The joke’s on you!!
Another interesting article, Javier. Lots of food for thought. Each of us have different roles to play in achieving the same goals. Yes, theses questions posed by Michele Bachmann need to be answered! Does a possible V.P.like Rubio need to get pulled into this discussion and his real value on the Romney ticket be overshadowed by this controversy? No. Bachmann is serving her purpose in saving our country, and Rubio is serving his. Both are admirable and necessary.
Oh yes,…..and you are serving yours…..thanks, Javier.
I have said in the past that McCain is on the payroll of the Saudis, and this further solidifies my view on this sell out and disgrace, John McCain. If we had a real FBI Director, he would be hauled off in handcuffs, or at the least, shown the evidence and forced to resign “to spend time with his family”.
I am VERY DISAPPOINTED in Marco Rubio that he would take the side of a Saudi mole inside our government. This will SINK HIS POLITICAL CAREER if he does not IMMEDIATELY backtrack and renounce his comments of support for a foreign agent.
ROMNEY….DO NOT TOUCH Rubio!! He is now toxic! Allen West would be a great VP, and a better SecDef!
I agree Rico! Bachmann and Rooney deserve our unequivocal support and Rubio needs to go to the back of the bus! It takes a lot more courage to stand up for American interests than to take a “safe” position as Rubio has done. It shows extreme cowardice and perhaps an even more sinister motive. How can we now trust Rubio to represent us in the Senate? Thank you Javier!
I had withdrawn support for Michele but have reinstated it with her lasted stand. Rubio who I have supported in the past has turned into a Rino and I will no longer support.
Too much talk about Rubio being a VP – no more than obama.
Lets clean this mess up and support people that take our Constitution as the law of the land.
Sorry for Rubio as this will do major damage to his future. Your accessment of John McCain is very accurate. He has spent his entire life in politics and sometimes apears to be owned an operated by some one else? I sometimes think he actually threw the election to Obama.
To this day I believe McCain did throw that election. I’m beginning to feel that these elections are just like Professional wrestling, the winner has already been determined. Look at these politicians, they scoff at legititimate concerns and dare us, the American people, to do something about it. Talk about loosing “all” of our former rights, to these wimpy hacks, who are soaked in arrogance, I fear this country was lost a long time ago. We just now woke up about 50 years too late!
As a member of good standing in the House of Representatives, Bachmann has a right to make an accusation and call for an investigation. If the investigation proves her wrong, then those so inclined can jump all over her. But what if she’s right? Disappointed in Rubio.
I am not sure I would even call it an “accusation.” The following is the pertinent language in her letter to former Nation of Islam (Louis Farrakhan) activist, Congressman Keith Ellison:
(*** are mine)
http://bachmann.house.gov/uploadedfiles/letter_to_rep._ellison.pdf
2) (Bachmann, quoting Keith Ellison): “The mother, brother and deceased father of Huma Abedin, Deputy Chief of Staff to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, are connected to the Muslim Brotherhood, and that she, too, ***by extension****, may be working on the organization’s behalf.”
(Bachmann responds:) “Not once in the letter to the Inspector General of the Department of State, as you summarize was it stated that “by extension, (Ms. Abedin), may be working on the organization’s behalf.” In fact, what we wrote was that:
“…the Deputy Chief of Staff, Huma Abedin, has three family members – her late father, her mother and her brother – connected to Muslim Brotherhood operatives and/ or organizations. Her position provides her with routine access to the Secretary and to policy-making.
“That her family members are connected to the Muslim Brotherhood has been reported and referenced widely in the Arab-language media, including Al-Hayat, the Arab Times and Al-Jazerra….”
Just another page from the McCarthy playbook
Hey Rich, wouldnt’ you be happier talking with your own kind on some left-wing website? You’re just wasting everyone’s time here.
McCarthy was right. Research the Venona Papers.
Question – Do you see no danger in Communists/Islamists infiltrating our government? If it is an issue, how do you propose we go about rooting it out? If you’re OK with their infiltration, what exactly is it you hope they accomplish?
I love Marco Rubio and I give him a pass on this one. The forces of the fascist left and progressives, with the help of mushbrain republicans like McCain would be tough to overcome at this time. Rubio’s statement is a good political move and he should leave it at that. He can’t get in the middle of this one.
You give Rubio a pass. You have no moral authority in my opinion. You are one of those who is unwilling to hold our leaders accountable. That’s how we get Barack H. Obamas.
That is exactly why we have the crap in political office today! Stop giving them passes, people did that with Franklin Roosevelt, LBJ, and others. Rubio had nothing to loose by taking a stand, unless it was Romney who also is against Bachmann and that might very well be the case.
He stepped in the middle of this one. And only “reluctantly” withdrew his support of The UN Treaty of the Seas, once the traitorous Republicans of McCain, and others confirmed they have enough votes to pass it in the lame duck congress with out Rubio’s vote.
Rubio has joined the NWO believe it or not, just watch his votes.
He’s no different than Suntan Charlie, just seeking his own power to the detriment of the country.
“Senator Rubio responded to the Shark Tank’s request for further comment by stating,”I stand by my statements.”
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Actually he stands by his accusations. Some, perhaps many conservatives, have been suspicious of Rubio’s conservatism (his genuineness), especially Tea Party activists. I tried to give Rubio the benefit of the doubt.
No more.
Michele Bachmann, as they say, is separating the men from the boys.
As Sen Rubio so eloquently said: “every member of Congress is held accountable for their opinion, if they’re right or if they’re wrong.”
Rubio is in the McCain, Grahmnesty,Brown, Snowe, Collins and the soon to be ousted Lugar. I am starting now to put Rubio in the status of Lugar.
Muslim Brotherhood has taken over the Middle East with the active assistance of Obama-Clinton and now has infiltrated not only the State Dept. but Defense, FBI, Justice to just name a few.
Speaking of FEW it does not take a majority to rule a country,a Few Elitists in Power Positions do the trick.
Allah Akbar, Infidels.
I’m very disappointed in Rubio – he’s not so great after all. Is he so easily duped? Bachmann’s request is sensible, prudent and good government practice. I really question Rubio’s judgement and I don’t think I would support him for president.
Rubio is a typical RINO Republican that is only interested in selling books. He will go down, just like his buddy David Rivera. I wonder if Rubio has financial dealings with Rivera?
“Moderate Republicans McCain and Scott Brown”???? Don’t you mean RINO establishment Republicans? These guys are so far left as to make Lindsey Graham, Olympia Snowe & Patty Murray appear to be moderates. And then to add fuel to the fire, moving-to-the-left Marco Rubio joins these RINOS. I could not be more disgusted
One at a time, we must rid the USA of these unacceptable Senators starting with replacing Florida’s Bill Nelson with Dave Weldon in November.
Ditto on Dave Weldon, the true conservative! Connie Mack should stay out and is only getting the support he has because of his name recognition. Bill Nelson does not represent us, but has consistantly supported liberal policies throughout his tenure. He must go!
Rubio has seemed to have lost his conservative principles since being elected. I watch closely how he votes and what he says as in this case. I am disappointed that he does not agree with the article that she should not have gained top security clearance in the state department because of her family ties to the muslim brotherhood. This stance with several others are starting to cause me a loss of confidence in the senator.
Rubio has made a mistake.
He should not have commented on McCain’s latest publicity stunt.
He should have remained silent and not become involved in something that cannot and will not benefit him in any way.
“Silence in the face of evil is itself evil; God will not hold us guiltless.
Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.”
Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Marco Rubio is another Juan McCain and Lindsay Graham in training. He has picked his side, which says plenty. He has joined the rest of the left leaning neocons in Congress. He is no conservative – sorry folks but you need to wake up. He has voted unconstitutionally more times than not, and I will never support him again after signing on to the NDAA, period! The fact that he would consider a VP slot is also troubling. He knows he is not constitutionally eligibly but will not come clean. Bottom line, he has no respect for our U.S. Constitution!! Send him a copy of the Constittion so that he can learn something before he completely becomes another corrupt deciple of the anti-American cesspool movement in Washington. Michelle Bachmann had all the right to question this security clearance. We all know that Obama and Hilary would like nothing better than to destroy our Republic, and between their treaties, associations, executive orders, and regulations, they are accomplishing their agenda – while Americas look the other way – including Rubio. Come to think of it, why hasn’t Rubio taken a position on Obama’s eligibility issue? I’ll tell you why because he is not constitutionally elegible either and neither is Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney’s entire family became Mexican citizens and there is no record that his father or grandfather ever took the oath. So, this is where our congressional critters are taking us. It matters not which party is in office. We are being lead to swallow globalization and hemispheric intergration whether we like it or not. Redistribution of our hard earn wealth to third world countries, including Mexico, Cuba even though it is communist government, and to all the other American hating countries around the world. You can also thank Marco for this since he is all for the United Nations and globalization, NAFTA, etc., or better know as the new world order. Another imperialistic war monger neocon. Heaven helps us.
Ms Taggart– I wish it where not true.
I wish McCain would shut up. He acts as though he is the spokesman for the GOP and I was sick of him years ago. After he essentially threw the election and we got the decisive Obama his judgment is zero in my book.
Make that divisive, not decisive. You wouldn’t know I was up all night.
Very disappointed in Rubio. Makes me rethink what he really stands for. These people can’t see what is right in front of them. Be politicaly right and see where that will get our country.Thank God for Ms Bachman if it wasn’t for her we would not know what is truly going on with these people in Washington. They claim they love this country and they are doing everything to give it away. The LOST Treaty if another example of these Rinos giving our freedoms away.McCain is the worse of the bunch.
Rubio is a useless POS. Calling him a RINO is a compliment to what he really is. Fooled everyone here in Florida during his campaign but didn’t take long after to prove his true colors.
But aside from those facts… Investigating for foreign infiltrators should not stop with arabs. The most nefarious and insidious individuals seem to get a pass always and are probably the instigators of Bachmann’s letter. k investigate all the zionists and israelis in this government and I am certain you will find a multitude that are set up by the israeli gov. Them you can begin to see your gov free to do Americas business again.
So not only are our lawmakers ignorant of the history of communist infiltration of our government, they can’t even see the parallels in recent history to the Paterno/Sandusky PennState disgrace.
Paterno was a coaching legend, but refused to open his eyes to what was going on in his organization. As a result of not asking questions not only has his reputation been trashed for all time, but his organization will be feeling the effects of his poor judgement for years to come.
All Bachmann is saying is that there’s enough evidence to warrant further investigation. Are they afraid of what they may find, do they know the extent of the infiltration and fear being held complicit, or are they afraid of hurting muslims’ “feelings”? All options reveal the extent of their cowardice. Where are the statesmen/women?
McLame / Rubio = Paterno
Abedin (pending outcome of investigation)= Sandusky
USA = Penn State
Wow – Rubio is either naive, in denial or downright out STUPID. Talk about “head in the sand”. Allen West needs to take Rubio to the wood shed. And after a good whooping, he needs to be educated with the facts and WTF is going on. Unbelievable.
I gave money to Rubio’s campaign early on in his primary against Crist after Huckabee’s endorsement …I’m on Huckabee’s email list.
When Rubio was on Huckabee’s weekend TV show just days before the key Florida Presidential Primary and would not distinguish between Romney and Gingrich/Santorum, I knew the jig was up. I took my name off of Rubio’s email list and will not donate anymore money. Huckabee I’m still a fan of.
Yes, it is nice to be loyal to Romney who campaigned for you and gave money to your campaign …but isn’t this what happened with SC Nikki Halley and VA Bob McDonnell and I’m guessing Chris Christie and Delaware’s Christine O’Donnell. Romney used alot of money and time to buy loyality so that his liberal record as a Governor of a state where only 12-13% of the registered voters are Republicans could be called conservative. The very man (Romney) whose State Republican Chairman said … “So when James Rappaport, former head of the Massachusetts Republican Party held a press conference recently to announce his endorsement of Rudy Giuliani, I could resonate with his observations. Rappaport, who served when Romney was governor, said Romney “has a strong record of showmanship as opposed to actual performance.” On his relationship with the State Legislature, “His word is no good … Mitt Romney would say one thing in a meeting and literally go out of the meeting to the press and tell the opposite story. There was no desire in the legislature to be accommodating to him because they couldn’t trust him…. Romney will be clear today on what he believes today, and he’ll be clear tomorrow on what he believes tomorrow, but they may be different things.” As a parent with children in the public schools who was concerned about the impact the redefinition of marriage would have on the public schools …. I followed Massachusetts politics while Romney was Governor via emails from a pro-family group called Mass Resistance … I remember clearly how hostile Romney was towards conservative values. I can never forget it.
Romney founded Bain Capital and Bain bought Clear Channel Communications for $19 billion in Nov 2006 and with it owned all of the contracts of practically every conservative talk show host in America including Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck. Is that why they were so vicious in their comments against McCain and Huckabee in the 2008 campaign?
We need to elect people who will sacrifice themselves like the men on Omaha beach sacrificed themselves to fight for freedom against the Nazis. If political careers are a person’s first priority …they need to take time off until we have fixed our problems.
We need people like Bachman and Palin and Huckabee and Gingrich and Santorum who are willing to take some hits to do what is right for the common good. The wolf is at the door, the people in office now have created problems that are threatening to take down the country financially and with it many, many Americans. Alot of people will be hurt and as usual, the burden will fall even heavier on the poor and disadvantaged who need good government the most.
http://www.Stuart2012.com Marielena Stuart for US Senate Florida Republican Primary is a citizen candidate that fits the bill in your post above.
Why Hannity, fox news, florida tea party drools over this former Florida house speaker who made sure no immigration reform bills would ever come to the floor to be voted on so he could keep La Raza and big labor lobbyists happy is beyond pathetic.
Now he doesn’t want to upset the Muslims.Wise up Republicans and do your homework.
Read the history of many countries that dealt with zealot radical Islamists and made the same mistake. They all ended up finding themselves being neutered by their own due to decisions like this one made by Senator Rubio. With Islam if there is an iota of a doubt then rest assured it is exactly what you fear it is….Congresswoman Bachmann is on to something. Big mistake Senator Rubio. Big Mistake !!!
I always knew Rubio was a snake or a wolf in sheep’s clothing. He has an anti-American vibe and it is becoming more and more evident.
Viva Rubio! I agree with Marco on this. Michelle sounds like a whack job at times. I hope Marco is our v.p.
Allah Akbar, Infidel!
The problem is that Sen. Rubio is accepting the msm/liberal dem/McCain nut framing of the question which is phony. There are no accusations whatsoever in the letter. Any objective observer would wonder how she got cleared with her family connections. (Having both been cleared and having relatives cleared, I can vouch for the thoroughness of the inquiries). There may be a good and responsible answer for this. To criticize people for asking for that answer is the real “McCarthyite” approach.
Willfully ignorant, dangerously naive or on the take. You decide.
“Everyone I talk to who has dealt with her, [says she is] a professional and hardworking and patriotic American who loves her country and in the service of her country is serving it.”
Just in case, I believe those same words described Ana Belen Montes.
Why the surprise?
Everyone knows the Bushies, Jeb even more so, can not stand real Conservatives who tell the truth. Why would minie-me do anything but echo his masters pleasures?
It was just non-compassionate to say the least to announce the truth to the world regarding Hill’s squeeze’s family ties. Can’t we all just get along?
Interesting how McCarthy is the nuke the leftists call on when all else fails. Guess they never heard of VENONA, or wish they hadn’t. VENONA set right the truth much to the embarrassment of the rabid marxist left. It makes for some very interesting reading. No doubt the Bushies never turned those pages.
Part of Rubio’s risk aversion comes from a wussy CoS who’s a Cheney retread. I fear he has a bit of W. Syndrome, by that I mean a sense of loyalty to those who may not deserve it to the point it can harm him. Let’s not forget Rubio canned 2-3 campaign mgrs. in 2010, not a good sign of character recognition and decisiveness. All he had to do was say, “these are serious charges and I trust Rep. Bachmann will fully investigate what’s behind it before rendering any conclusion”. I know Marco may read this and get angry with me, I’ll take that chance. He needs to hear the things he may not wanna hear or those his lackeys will not tell him. You’re in hostile turf, Marco, no te heches a perder. The voters are looking for leadership without trepidation, not McLame clones.
Amen!!
This is nothing more than an attempt by the Republican establishment to take out Bachmann. She should have been smart enough to keep her name out of it, but she wasn’t. She apparently wrote the damn letter herself, if her interview with Beck last week was accurate. Listen, I don’t hate Bachmann. But she doesn’t seem to understand how to play the game and she consistently does more harm than good. Sincere patriots like Michele Bachmann have got to wise up and understand they will never win by using the truth and decency as their tools. The Left hates decent people like her, the truth is whatever they say it is, and the Republican establishment doesn’t have the balls to stand up for this country’s values because they don’t really believe in them themselves. Not really. If they even know what they. Michele Bachmann never should have sent that letter. We have an election in less than 4 months and the last thing Republicans need is some “crazy right wing Christian conservative on a witch hunt for Muslims”. She should have known better.
I have just read Congresswoman Bachmann”s letter that Senator Rubio has disagreed with and for the life of me I can’t see why. He of all people is being politically correct? Look where that got us at Fort Hood. There is nothing in that letter that causes me any concern. Why not make it hard for a person with family ties to a known terrorist organization, especially when Secretary Clinton opens the door for the trash to be swept in. Why does everybody ignore the fact that our own President is moving directly against our conservative values by kowtowing to the Middle East. I voted for him and thought he was a breath of fresh air but now maybe I’m seeing another side, a side I don’t like. the people. He’s way off the mark on this one.
I voted for Rubio, Not Obama.
And if you remember back during the carpet bombing of Libya, which was NOT authorized by Congress, and directed soley by Obama, Senator Rubio stood with reknown RINOS John McCain and Lindsay Grahamn to affirm that illegal action of Obama’s, and yet veteran Congressman Allen West stood with Democrats not to bomb them.
What could Allen have known as a (recent) former veteran? Perhaps who the enemy really was? What’s wrong with the picture of Marco Rubio standing with McCain and Grahamn and not with Allen West? (a lot).
Maybe someone in Senator Rubio’s office should read what Andrew McCatrthy has to say about what would happen if American’s support of the *”rebels” succeeded. (aka mostly *Al Quaida terrorists). What exactly happened in Libya when the evil dictator was killed? What happened was that a FAR worse regime was instituted known as the Muslim Brotherhood who took over Libya’s government, and in their first “official move” as the transitional “government” reversed the ban on polygamy. Boy are’t we glad we spent millions of American dollars to help them out with that serious problem? And also help Obama to install a violent archaic government which will bring Libya back to the 7th century? In their second move as a transitional “government” the new muslim government in Libya insituted Sharia Law. And we helped them do it and paid for it with taxpayer monies.
Maybe some Republican staff should brush up basic available reseach such as Andrew McCarthy articles on National Review so they have a handle on who is who over there and why Obama is so interested in overthrowing evil dictators for the Muslims Brotherhood. The Brotherhood is a far worse enemy of the United States and the West.
FACT: America’s central government IS infiltrated with every ideology of the world, which Rubio should understand expecially with experience with Fidel Castro and the fall of Cuba to socialism. communism. The Washington long termed elite, aka John McMain and Scott Brown have turned their back on the open door policy of allowing Muslim groups to obtain positions in all our agencies to set policy for this president. Congress is doing their job and Bachman,Rooney, Gomert and many others are asking about the vetting process in filling these high level jobs. Huma Weiner Abedin serves as Hillary Clinton’s top advisor in the State Dept. and her family history is bothersome to Congress and most Americans. Her late father, mother and brother all are associates of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood. This sect was founded in 1928 by Hassan al-Banna to dominate and impose it’s law on ALL nations to extend it’s power to the entire planet. It’s motto is “God is our purpose, the prophet our leader, the Quran our Constitution, jihad our way and dying for God our supreme objectives.” It would not surprise me if Obama loses the election that he will pardon the blind shiekh, Omar Abdel Rahman. The newly elected Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood is asking for his release.
Have we not determined that this woman is crazy. It’s sad that she is a Congresswomen and a GOPer at that.
DISAPPOINTING!
Rubio needs to have a chat with Allen West and get an education on the Brotherhood and Islam.
Ditto
Rubio wake up, yes Mr. west can teach you a few things about the Muslim Brotherhood.
[...] Rubio Sides Against Bachmann, Rooney Regarding Huma Abedin’s Possible Ties to Terrorism [...]
I’m not a one issue kind of voter, but I’m very disappointed in Marco Rubio’s statement. Michelle Bachmann was correct in asking about top security clearance for Hillary Clinton’s right-hand girl,Abedin.
Her entire direct family is/has been involved with the Muslim Brotherhood. Bachmann is a member of the House Committee on National Security. It’s her duty and the other Representatives’ to question such security clearances.
Just because RINOS like Boehner, MCCain, and Graham, don’t like it doesn’t mean they’re looking out for the USA, but Bachmann is!
All three of the Republicans I’ve mentioned ought to be drummed out of the corps! Who’re they kissing up to?….Hillary?
Rubio has shown his true colors one to many times and yet you look at online polls and see many favor him as the VP pick for Romney.
If he weren’t so wrong on immigration and now this he still wouldn’t be qualified for VP. He’s never been a governor with a record and he’s only been on the National stage for a short time. It’s fricking “American Idol” all over again. I don’t think there are anything but moderates and Rino’s on Romney’s short list for VP so I’m going with a moderate like Pawlenty. I’ll take a boring moderate over a flaming liberal every time until I have a choice between a moderate and conservative. Then it’s conservative.
Rubio has to be very careful not to project an image which can be “tarred and feathered” by the media. Bachmann is right but it is a matter of how she goes about it. Hillary has ordered the Egyptian military to “stand down”. The Egyptian military is moderate and U.S. trained. Nasser had a Russian trained military. Sadat changed that in negotiations through Camp David. He paid the price. Mubarik continued that support and was sold out by Hillary and the bois. It is “duh” logic to state that if Hillary is supporting the Muslimn Brotherhood as the democratic alternative, that Huma Abedin as her go between to Islamic heads of state does so as well.
If my Brother, or my Father were Bank robbers, does it mean I am a Bank robber too ? NO .
My Family is Catholic. Does that mean I am a Catholic too? NO
My Parents hold beliefs that I totally subscribe to, others I feel differently about . Isn’t that true of every family?
It is right to be totally aware of the Brotherhood and their Agenda, but we do not infer such accusations or associations without proof on fellow American Citizens . Polticians should not do such things to Make the news
[...] Frontpage’s Robert Spencer adds this- And in Abedin’s case, there are ample reasons for raising these questions. The Brotherhood itself is in its own words, according to a captured internal document, dedicated to “eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within and sabotaging its miserable house.”-Robert Spencer (Source-Bachmann/Abedin) [...]

How disappointing of Rubio to disassociate himself from Michelle Bachmann. I wonder if he is taking instructions from higher up, perhaps Romney! If so than both are cowards, certainly Rubio proves to be gutless, talk is cheap Mr. Rubio, sounds like you and someone else have another agenda in place, that is not for the American People!

Wrong of Rubio not to side with Bachmann. He was also, as was John McCain, for going into Syria. Again, I think there are similar groups fighting amongst each other, as just today as I watched a newsfeed of the fighting there, one rebel cried out (and caught on video), alihu akbar when they hit a target, I guess.
And now, in light of the terrorist attack on our Libyan embassy and the coverup re our ambassador and two seals and another citizen, our security becomes all the more critical. And of course, the Egyptian embassy was attacked by what appeared to possibly terrorist attacks as well, and our U.S. flag removed and replaced with the flag of al quaeda!
