In the ongoing saga to save what remains of his future political viability, former Republican Governor Charlie Crist has endorsed Democrat Bill Nelson for U.S. Senate over Republican Connie Mack.
In doing so, the ever-vacillating Crist is continuing his political transformation from a self-avowed “Reagan Republican” (March 2010) to a supporter of Barack Obama’s radically transformative Democrat socialist agenda and Nelson, his unwavering ally in the Senate.
As we’ve previously reported here on the Shark Tank, many believe that Crist is angling towards running against Governor Rick Scott as a Democrat in 2014.
Like an aging boxer who doesn’t know when to hang up the gloves, Crist appears to suffer from the delusion that Florida’s body politic simply cannot survive without his hand on the joystick controller. As you no doubt recall, Charlie’s tenure as Governor was filled with lots of frilly-sounding rhetoric and initiatives that amounted to very little (e.g. Green Energy and KidCare), and he continually embraced federal handouts to prop up Florida’s budget while rejecting fiscal conservatism for the state.
Crist may be in no man’s land politically, but he’s certainly never lacked in ambition nor has he ever failed to exploit the opportunities he’s been presented with in order to advance his political career. His political metamorphosis so transparently phony that it would be a major step back for Florida to elect an individual who at this stage of his career still has no political core and will attempt to be all things to all people, were he to run.
Let’s hope that enough Floridians on both sides of the aisle will see Crist’s rank opportunism for what it is and retire him back to his ambulance-chasing law firm.

If Crist gets past the Democratic Party’s primary, he will win the general election. Governor Scott has not done anything that is going to sway voters his way.
Does is matter who the democrats nominate for governor they can’t win a statewide race in Florida. Gov Scott has stood up to the liberal media and lowered florida’s unemployment rate by 2% He has not raised taxes, led the legal fight against Obamacare and beat Obama to actually enforce laws againts voter fraud in Florida. Scott is looking at winning 60%+ of the vote at re election time, unless Romney picks him for VP
Charlie could experience the same outcome as Snarlin’ Arlen Specter, who was a Demoleftist twice, a RINO in between and finally closed it out as a loser in the Pa. Demo Senate primary. Good riddance. Unfortunately, vacillation is still legal in all 57 (or is it 58?) states. Remember when Gov. Crist claimed he was staying with the Repubs in the Senate race the day before he jumped to independent ? The Republican establishment seemed to believe they had a winner in Charlie early on, and tried to get Marco to stay out. Charlie thinks just like you do – for a while, at least. It’s a week to week thing with him. You could say he’s flexible in his beliefs, whatever they are. I doubt Charlie could win the Demo primary for governor, given his complete lack of credibility. Isn’t Charlie’s employer John Morgan a big Demo himself ? Good luck Connie Mack ! I wish I could vote for you but I live in Georgia.
It would be fun to watch Crist try to claim he is running on principle because he would have difficulty explaining any principle except “what is best for Charlie Crist”.
Governor Rick Scott would crush Sunshine Charlie in a 2014 gubernatorial election. Scott knows how to create the environment in Florida for more jobs. Increasingly Charlie is just a bitter panderer.
