Charlie Crist’s “Coming Out Party”

August 4, 2012

By Javier Manjarres

Florida House Speaker-designate Will Weatherford sat down with the Shark Tank in Jacksonville to discuss a wide range of issues including the Florida U.S. Senate race, presidential hopeful Mitt Romney, and other local elections that he is personally going to be involved in.

We asked Weatherford for his take on the possibility that former Florida Governor Charlie Crist could possibly run against Governor Rick Scott as a Democrat. Crist recently gave a ‘full-throated’ endorsement of Senator Bill Nelson over Connie Mack, and Speaker Weatherford offered his take on Crist’s “evolution”-

I guess its his coming out party, so to speak, so he is coming out and letting people know where he really stands philosophically-I don’t think it surprised a lot of us- he governed as a Democrat. -Will Weatherford

Yeah well Will and the rest of them supported him. Supported him as Governor and supported him early on for the Senate. One person they did not support was Rick Scott. They just can’t get it right.

Yesterday driving on the Turnpike in Central Florida we had a chance to see a good number of billboards with Charlie’s face on it hawking his law firm. I never knew he did “slip & falls”. I guess the firm has to get their money’s worth.

  4. Crist is such a slime ball. Great headline!

    Javier,
With respect, as I generally like your blog and find your point of view interesting,
    > I question your choice of headline, when the underlying topic is an interview with the incoming FL House Speaker.

    - heck, it’s *always* good by me to throw rocks at Crist, but I’d rather not sully the reputation of other real Republicans (even if not as conservative, or for me personally librtarian as I might prefer) by including them by name when you choose to take advantage of one of Crist’s innumerable heresies against logic.
    >>> IMHO, he’s both a political and intellectual traitor.

    Best Regards,

Now there’s a sensible idea! What Florida needs is a governor that’s not a charter member of the Borg Collective. It’s embarrassing having a doofus that ranks second–only to Arizona Governor Jan Brewer! At least former (and future?) Governor Crist has an open mind, and not a mean spirited track record! Thankfully, Gov. Scott’s days will be numbered!

      yeah,
why dont you run for that job

Crist is the living embodiment of the warning, “Don’t be so open-minded that your brain falls out”.

    • yshaw1 says:

I don’t think they will be numbered, Gov. Scott is doing exactly what he was elected to do. The Govenor has had to make some really tough choices, with the liberal rag we call a newspaper, constantly referring to him as the most unpopular Govenor, and that rediculous sunday morning TV show constantly on the drumb-beat against any Republican, it is a form of brainwashing of the uninformed. If they would only realize the damage they are doing to this state.

  7. Ed says:

Crist is nothing but yet another “go with the wind sleezebag politician”. I have HEARD that some politicians might think like; hmm, let me see now; which is the party to belong to in order to have the BEST chance to get yet another “cushy job”. Wanna just keep collecting those dumb voters tax money in my paycheck OH, and it WOULD be soooo nice to have all those “friends” slip some “envelopes” under the desk now and then. The vote “might just” go to the highest bidder, the hell with the stupid people who voted for me.

  8. Liz says:

Crist is as good for nothing as Bloomberg.

  9. Crist's Final Coming Out Needed says:

Charlie Crist is in need of telling us who he really is. He rolls out a new political persona every couple of years. I’ve long suspected that is final roll out will be when he comes out of the closet.

  10. saveflorida says:

No one talks about the most important bill to pass the Florida House in decades. It was buried by Charlie Crist and his Senate Republican cornies before it was even debated.

ZERO PROPERTY TAXES ON ALL RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES IN FLORIDA. PRIMARY, SECOND AND INCOME HOMES – ALL PROPERTY TAX FREE.

REPLACE THE PROPERTY TAX WITH 2.5 CENT INCREASE IN THE STATE SALES TAX – OF WHICH 40% IS PAID FOR BY NON RESIDENTS.

THE BILL PASSED THE FLORIDA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES LED BY MARCO RUBIO.

CHARLIE CRIST BURIED IT BEFORE THE SENATE EVEN DEBATED IT.

CHARLIE CRIST IS OWNED BY LABOR UNIONS – WHICH WE SAW WHEN HE PANDERED TO THE TEACHERS. sENATE REPUBLICANS ARE TOO.

Imagine the real estate market in Florida if there was no property taxes?????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. Carlos says:

Willy Boy’s a RINO and Charlie’s endorsement was “full throated” in more ways than one. Coming out is an understatement. He’s a lying reptile who needs to crawl away. We, the people can make that happen, though Lex Luthor (Scott) isn’t exactly a thrill, either.

  12. amazzzzed says:

Charlie Crist stood up for his principals and didn’t buckle with the establishment’s attempt to pressure him. He is for the people, not like Scott who is for $$$$$

  13. Lowie says:

I voted for Crist and didn’t support Rick Scott when he ran against
Bill McCollum. NOW, I know who’s who and will 100% support Rick Scott, as he is doing for Florida what should be done at the Federal level. It’s time for all good men to come to the aid of their country when in crisis and now is that time to vote a straight “R” ballot to get America back in the #1 leadership role in the world. The Democrats AND some of the RINO Republicans have given it’s soverignty over to the United Nations. That’s how they get around our Constitution. Ted Cruz, a great Cuban American from Texas, is good for our country. Cuban Americans in south Florida should be very proud of their “sons”(now ours) Rubio and Cruz. They KNOW the result if you stay at home and not vote for American freedom and liberty. Folks, the time is NOW. Primary voters can vote now, so please take the time to vote with your heart for our great country.

    • Cherieo3 says:

      Exactly, Lowie…excellent post. Well written!!
Those who can’t see…do not realize that Gov. Scott is doing a fine job for Florida!
