Obama’s Food Stamp Program Get Another Makeover

August 7, 2012

By Javier Manjarres

If you happen to visit your neighborhood 7-Eleven, Walgreen’s or perhaps some other convenience store, you will probably stroll upon one of these new nifty looking advertisements hanging from the shelves. This is the new S.N.A.P (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) aka EBT, that the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is pushing in hopes of eradicating the stigma that beneficiaries of  food stamps sometimes incur.  Yes, S.N.A.P., EBT or whatever Obama and his administration are calling them nowadays are in fact just good ol’ Food Stamps.  And even though the USDA lays out what foods are eligible to be purchased under SNAP, lots of retailers will sell alcohol, cigarettes and other items prohibited under SNAP rules.

Over the years we’ve seen the little EBT sticker next to cash registers to make consumers aware that their business accepted food stamps. But to openly advertise food stamps in such an ostentatious manner is truly unbelievable. What’s next- neon lights and billboards?

Voila! Say hello to the S.N.A.P. program. Courtesy of the USDA

I think every person that receives food stamps should be put on a work program cleaning and repairing government and state roads and facilities to earn that money they are receiving. Maybe if they had to earn these food stamps they would be a little wiser in their spending. As for Obama he should be sent packing. I hope with this next election that will happen.

You stupid ignorant bitch, do you know how many people work more than 40 hours a week, and still don’t make enough to feed themselves or their family. In case your dumb ass haven’t notice, the cost of living continues to go up, and it is a known fact that most of the people that receive food stamps are the working class. So their tax dollars pay for them to get food stamps if they need it. So Get the stick out your ass and find something like a reality check BITCH!!!!

You can buy as much junk food and soda pop as you like and with over 68% of the nation grossly overweight with over 30% MORBIDLY obese they are getting “fat off the land” with government hand outs in the role of enablers. People are ALSO trading food stamps to purchase alcohol, cigarettes, even patronizing the Drug Cartel with illegal narcotics, and even purchasing PORNOGRAPHY from our tax dollar food stamp program at a cost of $80 billion a year.

  3. Bradley Roenfeldt says:

SNAP stands for Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program. In most states (if not all), stamps are no longer issued. An EBT card is. The EBT card will only work on approved food items. You swipe it first at the store, just like you would a credit or debit card. The system automatically covers approved items. If you have any non-approved items, the system then gives you a new balance due and you have to pay for those items separately. To my knowledge, you cannot use the EBT card for these other items.

    • jim says:

Are you kidding, they trade cards for drugs, or accept money for pennies on the dollar, trust me if there is a way, people will figure it out… wake up!

    • BoGo says:

If this is true, why can’t the Dept of Ag provide a breakdown of what is being purchased with their cards?

And at the little neighborhood bodega, where they don’t have a Wal-Mart style UPC scanning system, how does that work? And what stops the clerk from ringing up a $10 dollar “approved” item instead of the $5 pack of smokes and pocketing the difference? I’m sure that NEVER happens.

The Paretto rule applies to every government program – guaranteed AT LEAST 20% fraud and waste.

    • Connie Brewer says:

The stores set up what items in their registers that can be purchased with the EBT card. The government doesn’t know what the stores are selling, the only way for them to know is to do an audit of that store. There is a register that rings everything up and then there is a machine that you swipe your card on, They are not connected.

      • uselogic says:

Completely correct. Just yesterday I was at my nearest CVS waiting behind a lady who purchased chips, canned dip, contact lens cleaning solution and cigarettes with her SNAP EBT card. Nothing else; no additional form of payment. The young lady behind the register rang her up without batting an eye.

Obama will do anything to appeal to those who don’t know any better or don’t care so long as they are getting theirs!

  8. Susan Scott says:

Like everything else, people abuse what was supposed to be for people in trouble. Food stamps have become a way of life for so many, totally not only taken for granted but believed to be deserved with NO incentive to get off of them.

Vote buying! Washington is corrupt and is time that we say stop. November 6th…sending them packing!

  11. Stan Lee says:

There are very few food market cashiers who’ll advise food stamp users that certain items are not to be purchased under that federal program. They just don’t want to risk the aggravation. So, while the feds look well meaning, ostensibly for “nutrition,” the usual hanky-panky continues. Except for now, food stamp users receive a plastic debit card, good for whatever the issuing agency deems appropriate for the user.

They can purchase what they want, they can even use the card to receive cash. Is it any wonder that our country used to be populated by “makers,” and now the Prez has converted them into “takers?” This government labors under the assumprion that some poor worker will pay the taxes to support those who no longer need to validate the federal money they receive by reporting for some kind of gainful employment. Now they can sit home and read comic books or whatever! Of course, the treasury can print more money, which will continually devaluate what can be purchased with it! Do you think those seers who say this will all come crashing down are saying so just to scare you all? It cannot last! It is the epitome of financial instability!

So, don’t be surprised when you’re checking out with items you’ve conscientiously selected based on affordability, and perhaps you’ll be eating meatballs again like last week. But, the person checking out in front of you, has the best steak cuts their fedral plastic card will buy. And, don’t forget all those soft drinks they buy, which are about as far from nutritive value as can be!

There are some folks who are in desperate straits, but the issuance of all these federal benefits aren’t really to make people feel much better, they are the government’s ticket to creating a society so utterly dependent that at long last, the central government can control everything in your life.

This is why we vote, while we still have that option. Once that government controls what you buy, what you eat, even how you worship or express yourselves, you no longer have the United States of America…instead you have what Vladimir Putin has dreamt of all his life, and it can happen here. I’m not now alluding to it happening in Moscow, Russia! I’m talking about “here!”

Tyranny is upon us. Bought and paid for by us, thanks to Barrack Obama’s 16 trillion debt. We are sheep being lead over the cliff. The way I see it, we have one more shot to get it right. Either vote Romney or don’t vote…unless you like someone else spending your money on someone else without restrictions. We are about to be gobbled up by the educated parasites and their minions.
