Republican vice-presidential nominee Paul Ryan was in Florida on Saturday and stopped by the famous Versailles restaurant in Miami to meet with his “Juntos for Romney’ constituents. The event was literally almost a wash out, as an early morning rain deluge forced the outdoor rally and its 400 or so attendees indoors.
While Ryan and others were staying dry indoors, some of the ‘Organizing for America,’ aka Barack Obama campaign supporters decided come out and waive their “Hispanics for Obama” signs in protest of Ryan.
A couple of the protesters did entertain some of the questions that reporters asked, but when asked about their accusation that Paul Ryan was going to “Kill” Medicare, none of the protesters could give a coherent and/or substantive answer to the question.

Ryan’s plan puts insurance companies in control. Pushing retirees to negotiate with them. While ObamaCare has added 8 years of solvency to Medicare.
No, Jeff, ObamaCare aims to cut over $700 billion from Medicare by underpaying doctors. That will make it much more difficult for Medicare beneficiaries to find doctors that take Medicare. Medicare is useless if you cannot get treatment. ObamaCare confuses “insurance” with “health care” and hopes you will, too. That seems to be a success in your case.
Who will pay the out of pocket differences if Medicare is turned into a voucher system? Also how does ObamaCare hurt people? Giving everyone basic healthcare should be considered a great achievement.
Really? If Obamacare is REALLY about healthcare, please explain to all of us why 16,000 new IRS agents are mandated into the law? We’re waiting…….

Oh Jeff you don’t get it..700 billion was counted TWICE in obamacare they will reduce the payments to docs and hospitals and therefore they won’t take medicare patients..CBO (congressional budget office) says it will cost ALL oF US more and that more than 20-30 million still won’t have coverage. the 15 member board un-elected can change medicare any time they want and we can do nothing. all our medical records will be available to lots of people in the federal government…I cannot believe how uninformed or zombie you are…have you read the bill??? have you listened to anyone other than obama? researched it yourself? google obamacare taxes see for yourself…check it out because you are clueless dude

Listen I am older don’t want birth control and refuse to pay for abortions….I may need more coverage than you with the new pay benefit plan a person has a choice…God forbid a choice like the lefties scream about for abortions… AND you can stay with old medicare as it is now or change…all for 55 and under…what a joke that you cannot see two feet in front of your nose.
Your drinking Kool-aid. I am under 55 and I don’t want to spend my retirement years negotiating with insurance companies. What if no one takes the voucher and they stay with Medicare? How is this going to be funded? As for needing an abortion or birth control. As an older guy, thankfully you will not need them. However many women do. I can’t believe anyone would want to take away a woman’s right. In 8 to 12 years Texas will go Blue and at that point all of this bickering will be moot. It is just how much damage will the Republicans do in the interim.

There is something called personal responsibility. No one is saying you can’t have an abortion or take birth control pills. Obama is taking away over $700 billion from medicare to put into medicaid and other areas. And a panel of beaurocrats (sp?) will be appointed by Obama to cut medicare even further each year. That means less care for seniors. Do the math.

My mom is on medicare right now, her payment is $94.00 a month. She just recieved a letter that her co-pay would be jumping to $264.00 a month in 2013 when his plan takes full effect! Tell me again how he is so wonderful and trying to save Medicare? He is gutting our military by 40% leaving us with the smallest military since 1945! Making friends with muslim extremist that laugh at him behind his back yet take billions in aid from us that he offers! The man is a pathetic TREASONOUS DICTATOR WANNABE and he will be gone in November!
Name calling is so immature. Anybody can say that something is not working out for a specific person. However, one must look at the overall picture. What is best for everyone? Giving the most people access to healthcare. I was speaking to a woman yesterday, after I registered her to vote and she said that she is not happy with how things are, but she told me that she is not a rich woman and she wants to know that there is someone in the White House looking out for the little person. She asked me my opinion about Romney and I told her unless she was wealthy, there is no reason to vote for a Republican. They are only interested in keeping wealthy people rich and healthy. I would have had a different opinion if Jon Huntsman won the primary, but he didn’t.

Congratulations on getting someone registered to vote. I did as well. Guess we wipe each other’s vote out. All US citizens should be registered to vote. It is unfortunate you have such a dim view of Republicans. I am not wealthy; probably considered lower middle class or upper low income (who knows anymore what this means). I work full time, as in 60+ hours/week. The COG are unbelievable and getting more so. I have been warning family and friends for well over a year to stock up on food items as the writing was on the wall with this Administration. It is now a reality. You speak of concern for the seniors. Well, as one of them still in the workforce, and use to dealing with insurance companies, I can tell you many have closed their doors this year. From foreign affairs to the economy, we have a President who has no idea what he is doing. Too busy being a celebrity I guess to tend to the business he was hired to do. Please talk to the doctors and hospitals who are and will be affected by Obamacare. Unless changes occur, as in repeal, many are getting out and Christian hospitals will re-think staying open because of birth control, morning after pill (abortion), and surgical abortions. I worked in a hospital for doctors until this past year and they all say the same thing. It is already taking a long time to get an appointment and under Obamacare will be even more so. What is the point in having something if it cannot be used when needed. What about the tax on DME’s, which affects senior citizens? This is in Obamacare as well. All I ask is that you think about it o.k.? Take care.
yea I didn’t want a voucher either but after just learning that my 78 yr old mother cannot find a doctor to take medicare, I prefer a voucher as at least I will be able to get insurance that all doctors will take. Her doctor retired and she didn’t realize that only a few doctors in this area takes medicare and those that she contacted said they will not take new patients. It doesn’t do any good to have it if you can’t find anybody to take it. We live in Texas and in 2008, only 38% of primary doctors took it. With the 719 billion cut that Obama has done to it, its more like 15% now that take it. GIVE ME THE VOUCHER OVER A WORTHLESS MEDICARE CARD ANY DAY OF THE WEEK!
