Congressman Allen West has unveiled a devastating commercial targeting his Democrat opponent Patrick Murphy along website that outlines Murphy’s past acts of “misconduct,” both on a personal and professional level.
The TV ad contrasts where both Lt. Colonel Allen West and Patrick Murphy were on the night of February 16, 2003. As we reported yesterday, Patrick Murphy was arrested on February 16th after he was thrown out of a club for fighting, and then verbally assaulting a police officer. Meanwhile, West was in Texas preparing to deploy to Iraq.
“On February 16, 2003, Allen West was at Fort Hood, Texas preparing his men to go to war in Iraq. That night in South Beach Miami, Patrick Murphy was arrested for fighting in a nightclub, getting so drunk he could barely stand, carrying stolen property, refusing to pay a cab driver, verbally assaulting a police officer and falsely complaining he was mistreated by the police. Then he used his family’s influence to get out of trouble.
Our new television ad exposes Patrick Murphy for who he really is-a spoiled brat who knows nothing of duty, honor or service. Patrick Murphy can duck every debate and his father can run all the false, racist attack ads he wants, but it doesn’t change the fact that Patrick Murphy is the emptiest of empty suits and of highly questionable character. Patrick Murphy is not fit for office.”

I’m not sure this dredging up of an individual’s adolescent or college past mistakes is an effective way to gain points…it can just as easily backfire. This rings very true considering “choir boy” West’s outrageous statements and mean-spirited VERBAL attacks–yes that’s fighting too–as an adult and supposedly RESPONSIBLE member of Congress. I guess Mr. West will just never learn to refrain from his unwarranted and unwanted vitriol!
Check your facts. Patrick Murphy was a JAG officer on active duty in 2003 and past his “adolescent and College days”. This conduct certainly appears to be that “unbecoming of an officer and a gentleman”. This was not youthful exhuberance. It reflects a character flaw. Are you on Patrick Murphy’s campaign staff?

If you folks are indeed the Christians that most of you claim to be, you’ll remember “judge ye not lest ye be judged yourself” or perhaps “let he who is without sin cast the first stone”.

1. Co West resigned because he defended his troops when a gutless superior played political nice in a war zone. At least West had the guts to fight quite unlike the spineless leaders of our US Navy that let politicaly connected failures like Lt Murphy off the hook instead of being indicted. Notice 40+ COs of the US Navy have been fired since the failure in the potus seat arrived…
2. Col West retired with full Military Honors unlike the spineless fool who bought him up on charges….Get your facts straight before you arrive at a public forum…looser…….
Chacter is important. That is what we teach our children. Do the right thing because it matters. Here is why it matters. Your past is something you bring with you. Some people build good chacter. Some gain a less desirable reputation. Most of us have gone through our lives without a police arrest. Some of us like Allen West have a record of a much more admirable kind, like serving our country. Which one would I want to vote for, simple West is the better person.
Adolescent at 20 yrs old. Kindergartners know better than to fight a cop. We can’t keep making excuses for inexcusable behavior. But it is probably brownie points for a Democrat, and mild compared to some of Murphy’s Democrat peers.

Mr. Murphy looks like a spoiled brat! Obviously his mother didn’t do her duty when it came to his discipline when he was growing up. This man is a typical Democrat as he is undiciplined, disrespectiful and a disgrace as a human being, but then this is only my opinion.
Allen West is truly a man of honor. He is intellectually superior to mr. Murphy. He should have been our first black president, and he is truly a black man, not half a white man and 1/4 Syrian. He knew the trials of fighting for his civil rights. Listen to him speak. He is sooooooooo articulate, and he knows our history and loves this country.
Funny West doesn’t mention in his ad that that same year he was forced to retire from the military for war crimes….getting drunk in college is one thing, torturing a man is another.

Col. West fired a gun next to a prisoner’s head to get intel that saved men under his command. After he got the information, he walked in to his CO’s command and turned himself in.
Hacking off a man’s head stroke by stroke with a knife is torture. THAT’s the enemy he was fighting.

Good thing some truths about Patrick Murphy are coming out. Washington is messed up enough as it is. We need the kind of leadership Allen West has shown and not drunks like Murphy.
